Great facilities and amenities. Instructors vary, as they do anywhere. I suggest checking them out…read moreon a site like ratemyprofessor or something similar, I've found the reviews there very helpful. Normandale is not intimidating for an older student who has been out of school for a long time, and there are a fair number of older students attending class along with the typical college age kids. It's a good alternative to getting part of your education at a much better price than going straight to a University. You can complete the MN transfer curriculum at Normandale, and that guarantees you admission as a junior to many schools in MN (those in MNSCU, I know U of M and the MNState U's are included. Normandale has also partnered with some 4 year schools (Mankato and Metro State for sure, and a few others) and you can actually get your BA or BS degree in certain areas all at Normandale.

For those entering the nursing program, I would look elsewhere. I am glad that the program is now…read morefour semesters instead of three, but the things you cover in leadership class have nothing to do with leadership. One of the things that you have to cover in the leadership class is talking about the union. This should not be something that is talked about until you are in the bachelor's program. And don't even get me started on the bonus points that they offer. These are nothing. These only help you if you are already passing the class. I had a friend have to retake a whole semester due to one point! I refused to have these points applied to my final grade. This is how the school makes the student's grades look better, thus making the school look better. As I have said in the beginning, look elsewhere.

This place is a business more than a school. There's a time and a place for recommending…read more Here's the recommendation. If you are an LPN or a Paramedic looking for an accelerated shortcut to get your RN. Cool. Make sure you have background knowledge as a CNA/LPN (if you're a medic ). If you're an LPN hopefully your nurse theory was strong and can carry you through the emergent sections. I watched a lot of people that came in as CNA and Med techs/assistants really REALLY struggle in this program. While you have guidance it's more about getting you to pass their bench mark tests over understand philosophy. Medics start understanding what other risks you have rather than directly treating the issue at hand. This is the way you need to think rather than being the fix-it on the spot person. Cost. HUGE. More than just money. Hope your company has an agreement for a discount.... And soon that won't even matter they care A LOT about money from admin through student support advisors. Instructors are about the only one who aren't focused on how is it going to cost Rasmussen and batting for their best interest (refreshing and exhausting feeling at the same time) OMG the drama. I won't bore you with specifics but watch out for the assistant deans..... make sure you save emails with you being told one thing because another persons answer WILL be different. And taking the bull by the horns is really the only way to get anything to change. Using their 48 hour return email policy against them is great because while It's expected of you it should be as well for them .... This will most definitely be broken time and time again. Don't expect phone calls to be returned if you're having a problem. I'm glad my experience there is done and over. I could have stayed for a bachelors but nope I wanted out. The shear chaos that ensues is enough to get your blood pressure spiking as you walk in the building. One thing I'm glad about is that I did my RN in MN and not FL. You do have to put in your work and complete your classes to earn your degree here.
