I would have given all stars to StayBridge Suites - Vauxhall, London for its location, restaurant…read morestaff - special mention for Florin - he was managing most of the breakfasts during the 8 nights stay at the hotel, Florin was courteous, conscious of guest requirements and comfort; special mention for the gentleman who very professionally managed the evening snacks and drinks on December 15th evening; for the housekeeping incharge for being so careful and attentive to the guests' needs and; for Dorin at the front desk for being helpful, chirpy & courteous. The stay overall was comfortable but for the first day BIG inconvenience caused by the front desk person, Richard. Despite us requesting in our booking and again via a separate email sent 2 days before to give us a good room, on a higher floor at a quiet location (we had booked King Studio suite), Richard checked us into a smaller room, whose door was faulty and so were the shower taps - were rusted & difficult to operate. We were checked into room no. 403. As right after checking in, we had to leave for a professional meeting & then we came back late in the evening, we did not much notice that the room size and layout looked very different from the pictures we had from our booking. Next morning when we called at the front desk, it was Richard who picked the phone again and strongly denied of the room being any different from the one we had booked. After the breakfast, we went in-person and showed him the pictures we had got from the hotel, to which he said the room layout and furniture can be different depending upon the location of the room. When we said again that the reason we booked a King studio suite was cause we were on a 3 weeks travel, had enough luggage and needed more space in the room, he didn't look happy. He was somehow insistent and much keen on having us at room no. 403- for reasons best known to him. On our asking yet again he said he will try to look and let us know. Also, asked us if we could pack our bags (we were leaving for professional meetings and were in a hurry) so he will get the bags shifted to another room if something gets free. We hurriedly got ready and packed. Just as we were about to leave he called in to show another room (no. 310) and said we can shift immediately in case we liked. We approved the room since it was quite like the pictures we had- spacious & with a comfortable layout. We already being in a rush, we asked him if he can have the bags shifted just as he had offered earlier, which again made him unhappy rather uncomfortable. Fast forward to our returning in the evening, the bags were shifted to no. 310. We were finally relived and happy to get the space, layout and the value for our booking (pls be aware that this hotel is "PRICEY" so one surely deserves to get value for what one pays for and should not be shortchanged by any whimsical hotel staff ). Richard was there on duty another day post this episode and each time looked somewhat uncomfortable whenever we crossed the front desk, thankfully there was a change of staff post that, and all turned for the better then. Overall a fine stay experience but the start and the huge inconvenience we were put to right at the start put a sour taste. Such experiences definitely leave a bad impression on the guests for the remainder of the stay and are not be expected of good hotels. The hotel management must look into what and why of this booking.

Another big thing are the toilets. There are two for fourty people in one floor. The showers were pretty disgusting, too. No gender separation, neither for toilets nor for showers. There's no way to open the windows fully. The elevator was broken, the rooms and the floor stank of chloride and urine. And the water tasted the same. Never again in my life.

The bathrooms and toilets are shared with every one on the floor so that is a bit of a put down but since I always had to get up super early I had all the space, privacy and time to myself. The hostel is quite close to the next station, the people I met in my room were very nice and it is easy enough to get into the city centre.

Good people watching. The second floor has the breakfast setup which was quick, efficient, and good. The fitness center - while not big - has enough equipment to give you a full workout. Clean, comfortable, quiet room with effective black out shades. Love that the bathrooms have heated floors and great shower. These things matter when you're jet lagged and running on fumes for most of a short trip! Only real miss was not coming to make up the room when I went out for the evening when asked and was told they would, but they did bring fresh towels up. I also think it would be great if they had a streaming TV for Netflix etc. login. But overall solid property. If I am likely going to be back for business will stay here again.

A completely unavoidable and widely reported event, yet the hotel still charged me. Naturally, I reached out, expecting at least a conversation. Instead, I was met with silence. No response, no acknowledgment, nothing. Finally, I got a support person on the chat that pushed this through to the management and I was hit with "Dear Danny, Thank you for your email. First night remains fully chargeable. Kind regards," (and no, they didn't write a name after kind regards) When attempted calling, I realized my only option was to make an international call at my own expense, just to ask why I was charged for a stay that was, by all reasonable standards, impossible. I understand cancellation policies, but when a major airport shuts down and a guest has no way to reach you, understanding should come into play. I asked for the complete reservation policy but they wouldn't share it with me. Instead, I was left to absorb the full cost of a room I never had the chance to sleep in, with no customer service to even discuss it. For a hospitality business, this experience was less than hospitable.

The room had tons of space and was super clean. The bathroom was enormous and cute. They offer complimentary breakfast as well and boy do they give you quite a spread to choose from. I don't think I've ever seen so many options for a comp breakfast at a hotel before. All kinds if meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits, jams and more! The only issue here was the staff. I found them to be very stuck up. Our group would walk in and they would just stare at you and not say hello or anything. They also weren't very approachable.
