It's true when they say "don't judge a book by it's cover"! We were visiting friends in nearby Taylor and this Best Western seemed the best option for our stay. From the outside the hotel is clay colored and a wide open parking lot. Don't be fooled. The inside is colorful, well appointed, bright and cheery. Every space was the same. Our second-floor room was comfortable and quiet. Great bath towels are always important and ours were wonderful. The workout area has great equipment and I made use of this both days. They have an indoor pool but didn't take the plunge. We had breakfast one morning and it was more than adequate. I opted for two different kinds of yogurt and my husband had his usual English muffin with peanut butter and honey. Orange juice and hot coffee, thank you very much! The most important thing is that the staff we encountered - Linda, Michelle, Neda - were all so welcoming and helpful in everyway. Linda, who was managing the breakfast room the day we ate, made sure that all surfaces were spotless. The hotel was conveniently located to Taylor and Showlow. The PTAC unit is very loud. You can't sleep. They update the hotel but not the ac unit. I would understand not changing out the unit if it wasn't loud but these are. I'm not sure my video doesn't. It was very loud and noisy. Glad I carry a heated blanket with me. It also took me 20 mins to check in. No one was at the desk. I have no idea where she was at she came from upstairs. Parking lot was empty. I checked in at 7:45pm. Cleanliness was low hair on the bed. Pillowcases looked like there were from the last guest. I bring my pillow cases. The toilet seat was dirty I wiped it down and put a cover on it. The towels had green stuff one and the other was stained. All I need was a room for a night. After flying into phoenix and driving 3 hours. My hopes aren't high but I needed somewhere safe and half decent. It will do for a few hours read more

The stay was okay. I spent about 2 weeks here. The room was okay. Didn't have any issue with the room. Though, I had an issue with my keycard to get into the room. Every day I had to stop by the front desk to get my keycard reprogrammed. I am not sure why I was the only one who had to get their keycard reprogrammed, but the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was.... Okay. The yogurt was good, the eggs were the powdered eggs + water, but were hard as a rock. Overall, if I had a choice of this hotel and another, I would choose somewhere else. read more

I've stayed here two times during COVID. Both times had no issues and found the hotel and rooms to be clean and comfortable. Last year breakfast was paused. This year breakfast is back. Of the pool was open, I'd add a star. Don't hesitate to stay here. read more

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. Each time the staff has been very helpful and nice. Recently I came to visit family and we chose this place once again. They were recently bought out by Best Western and a remodel was done (and boy did they need it). They did an awesome job on the remodel. The new beds were so dang comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed. The breakfast they offer was pretty good too, which makes it pretty nice since the town is small and not too many breakfast restaurants. And once again the staff was amazing. They are so helpful and kind....which is one of the reasons I come back to this place. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never been lied to, given different rates, different versions of things than I have by the front desk staff and supposed general manager, who was just as rude and condescending as the other women. If it wasn't for the fact that we were needed to help our friends out, I would have cancelled the reservation and drove the 2 1/2 hrs home. Maybe I shouldn't have been honest. I have a 5 month old Pug puppy that travels with my husband and myself. I was honest and advised Lori, who took my reservation that we were bringing my puppy and asked if there was a deposit or fee. She, Lori, advised me that the pet fee was $25. My friends called the hotel on Thursday and paid for the 2 nights. However, when my husband and I got there, our room was gone. My husband went ballistic. I called our friends and after about 35 mins we were finally given a room. Mind you not what I reserved but a room. 2 queen beds, a small 19 inch tv, 2 remotes, there was a microwave and refrigerator but they looked old to me. What was really scary was when the friend who rode up with us told my husband and I that he heard 1 of the card number and deposit and room went to another person with the last name Gardner. Tho how you get DD from James I haven't figured out. Granted, they are remodeling and I didn't take points off for that. That is why they would get a 1. Now they need to get a staff that doesn't lie, cheat and manipulate customers. I am putting a request in not to have this place on our recommendation list. Very negative experience with this hotel. I actually signed up for their rewards program and had planned on staying there a lot, but my first experience at a Best Western will unfortunately be my last. Made reservations online and accidentally selected the wrong date. When I showed up, they checked me in for an additional night and gave the impression that they were waiving the no-show fee. I even expressed my appreciation for being "reinstated", not being communicated that I was being double charged for an extra night. I should of read some of these reviews before reserving! I had a paid reservation thru Best Western site. The hotel refused to accept my reservation after I showed the manager the confirmation email BW sent me. The manager wanted to double my prepaid reservation amount. With a Rainstorm outside, she thought she could extort more money from me DOUBLE the reservation amount since I was on a motorcycle! When I got home I found that the hotel had charge my credit card $194.90. I'm dealing with visa as credit card fraud. When I asked for her name & a note stating the hotel would not accept my prepaid reservation she told me to leave now, GET OUT! I travelled to another hotel in dangerous thunder storm conditions on the motorcycle instead of being extorted more money unscrupulously! read more

We cannot recommend that anyone who is concerned about their health should stay here. Best Western clearly states on their home page as of July 28th face masks are to be worn in all inside locations. This motel did not enforce this policy and further their staff also did not wear face masks. When questioned at the front desk I was told (words to effect) that "they" didn't enforce the wearing of masks "up here" When I asked to speak to a manager the person at the desk said she was the manager. End of discussion. Due to unsafe conditions we were unable to feel comfortable with using any of their facilities including the breakfast. We would suggest if you are want to visit this area and are concerned about face masks, call first directly to the motel to determine if they are still ignoring Best Western guidelines. read more

We decided to take an impromptu trip the weekend and use booking.com. they said the room rates were pretty decent so we thought we'd give it a try. We decided to call to say we would be there later than usual. The hotel told us that they had no booking with us and said they could only give us a room for one night. When we called booking.com they were confused and called to try and solve the problem. The owner continuously told them he was busy about 3 times and that they could call back later. This charade goes on for an hour and no resolution happens before we get there. Upon arrival the manager says the Internet is the reason for the mishap and that they are tired of using it. I informed him that if they had a problem with a third party that they could just advertise on their sites as call only hotel. He offers us one night and proceeds to try and overcharge us. We tell him we want the rate that was advertised as we had heard the charge values change from customer to customer depending on person. We finally get to our room and it smells musky, like a wet dog had stayed there. They are pet friendly but if a pet stays here, they charge an extra cleaning fee. I'm assuming they didn't clean accordingly from the last people who were there. The room was outdated and had some tears in the blankets, stains on the bathroom floor and a terrible smell. We opened the window to air it out a bit. The beds were alright and the tv was from the 90s. We called them about their WiFi password and no one answered. Just like when we called earlier in the day. When we finally got the WiFi, it didn't work at all. In the morning we went to try the pool and apparently you have to pay extra for the amenities. Even though we had the hassle, they didn't even offer free amenities for our stay. I have stayed in worst hotels but I have never had such bad customer service and this place is obviously trying to rip off its customers. One woman in the morning was charged for saturday night and they didn't even have a room for her. Do yourself a favor and stay at the motel 6 the next town over. Cindy, the manager has got to be the worst manager ever. My family had a medical emergency and she threw us out as soon as the paramedics left. This is troubling because of the emergency and also we were there to self quarantine ourselves during this troubling time. I stay at this hotel as often as I can. The affordable rates make it possible for me to do that. I really enjoyed my room which was alot more spacious than I expected. The room was very clean and the beds smelled fresh. I especially enjoyed the indoor jacuzzi. The hotel is in a safe location so I had no worries about my car. Hotel is located right next to Dollar General which made it convenient for me and near Bashas and Walmart as well. Lots of food places near by. I will always come back to this hotel. This is my favorite hotel to stay when I go to visit my mom and dad. I go to visit them every 2 weeks so I wanted to stay at a hotel that I felt safe at and right at home. This was the hotel that I liked the most. The staff was very friendly and always had excellent customer service skills. The extra charges that I had read about in the past reviews of this hotel are wrong about what the charges are for. The reviews make it sound like they are horrible with sticking the guests with all these miscellaneous charges which is not true at all. The 3.95 charge is a surcharge that every hotel charges. It's just that this hotels computer system is one that doesn't add the surcharge in with the total room charges so it charges it separately. The damaged towels that the guests are charged with is that they are stains that the staff has tried to get out of them right away several different ways bit had no success. All of the linen are bright white linens so of course if you dye your hair red and use a white towel to dry your hair the dye is going to bleed onto the towel. We all know that dye doesn't come out of anything so of course you are going to get charged for the dye stained towels. I would recommend this hotel to stay at for any one of my family members or friends when you come to snowflake/Taylor to visit or just simply passing through the towns. They have a continental breakfast, heated pool and jacuzzi, gym room, guest laundry area, very clean rooms and very clean facility throughout the hotel. But most of all everyone is treated like family and it is a positive atmosphere to enjoy your stay. read more

As most other reviews, stay somewhere else! After paying $65 for a month membership to the pool, the first week the heater was broken so they extended my membership an extra week (which was fine) then we went again after it was "fixed", the pool was a little chillier than normal, but was ok, but not fun was ICE COLD. Came again and there was sign saying the pool was closed until construction was done. After explaining i couldn't use my membership into the next month more (we were going to be out of town) she said she would only refund me $20. So long story short, I paid $45 to swim twice in a cold pool and no not tub, but the manager really didn't care. My conclusion is the staff including the manager have no integrity and should have delivered the services they sold, or made it right when problems occurred on their end. It is the same as me selling her a hotel room with no furnishings and making her sleep on the floor for the same price as a fully equipped room, you deserve to get what you pay for. read more

The room was clean the beds were nice. The only thing that was not good was the fridge that was loud. Whenever it would turn on it sounded as if it was releasing pressure. This kept me awake for some of the night. I brought it up to the day attendant and she said she would notify the repair staff when they arrived. read more

First the STAFF is great. The toilet issues were a HUGE inconvenience. Not the best location either. It should be called the Taylor Best Western, not Snowflake. THE DEAL Breaker The so called HOT TUB- false advertising. Told the owner will not allow it to be more than 100 degrees. It was not 100. How cheap is this owner? A Special needs family brought their son in there for therapy as the reason my husband chose this hotel. He's disabled with a rare spine disease and really needed the heat. What a joke. Burning eyes from excessive chlorine - a kiddie pool. Was told the staff are not to turn it up. I called the Pinetop Best Western, down the road, in a nicer area and they told me when you can turn it up to 104 if you'd like be there. That's the way it should be. Total FALSE advertising here. We experienced the same as previous customers - reserved thru booking.com for 4 nights and then was told by booking that they had overbooked. Motel said it was bookings fault, bookings said it was the motels fault. After calling the motel I got one night , but was a smoking room. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised- the lobby is nice, the room was nice other than the smoke smell. Wi fi was very slow. But room was better than I expected. read more

Went to snowflake for the Race to the Pines cars how. Only place available was here for the weekend the staff was nice and the hotel was very clean. The rates were very reasonable for how busy the area was they could have raised their rates but didn't. read more

I know why nobody has reviewed this place, they were embarrassed to admit they stayed here! The rooms were old, smelly and in severe need of repair. While part of the staff was polite and helpful, the manager blamed the woes of the world, and our overbooked reservation, on the internet. As we ate the complementary "breakfast", person after person had to argue with the manager about confirmed reservation and being overcharged. Worse trip ever. Checking in was a joke, the front desk lady waa too busy taking a personal call on her cell. Our room smelled like a swamp and we only had 2 towels, which by the way were used by the staff to clean up the overflowing toilet (which staff said was a problem with that room). Had to go get more towels ourselves. Decided to check out early, and was told the system wouldn't allow it. Total joke. Breakfast was cold cereal and orange juice. Pool is filthy and had a green tint to it. Very disappointed. When it was a comfort inn it was much nicer. New owners need to consider either cleaning it or finding a new profession. Even one star is generous for this place. Extremely disappointed with this hotels ability to coordinate online booking. Fair warning, if you book online you may or may not have a room when you show up to check in. The hotel will blame it on an internet problem when you confront them. I gave this hotel the benefit of the doubt after they double booked our room last year thinking it was an honest mistake only to have it happen again! Two years in a row!
