Pool rule that makes no sense
    Katie M.

We stayed here while on a road trip across the country. When I checked in the lady at the desk was fairly welcoming. I noticed the decor of the lobby was old early 80's style, but I chalked it up to New Orleans "character". While walking to our room I noticed how horridly hot the hallways were. Hotter than the 95+ degree temps outside. Our room had a slight musty smell, liked they had had a spill that didn't get cleaned up properly. The door to the bathroom didn't close all the way, and wouldn't even latch so there is no way to lock it. We did laundry while we were there and noticed a rotten smell in the trash. But the worst of all is the attitude toward the guests by the hotel policies in general. For instance, my husband went to go ask where the towels for the pool were. They lady in the lobby refused to help him because he was in swim trunks. Said she would get fired if she helped him and literally started backing away! Apparently there are "blue" towels that are supposed to be in your room, which they were not. Need a clean towel at night? Tough! According to Wayne, the night shift desk clerk they only hand out towels between 8am-6pm and he had no way to get us one. "We're not a full service hotel and that's why our rates are cheaper," is what we were told. When we did get a towel the next day they made me SIGN that I was getting one. What? They made our kids wear wristbands while at the pool. Sorry guys I don't think people are trying to break in to swim at the best western pool. There was a loud group in the hallway around 1:30 in the morning and woke us up. The breakfast is ok, but if you want eggs or bacon they have an employee who must get your food for you. One morning the line was 10 people long. Also there is a sign that says not to take your food back to your room. Why not? Breakfast ends promptly at 9:30. Not done? Too bad! The lady locks the door anyway and you have to ask to be let out. Is that even legal? Definitely a fire hazard! I told the lady in the breakfast room I didn't think it was right to lock the guests in the room and her only reply was "sorry!" When I complained about this to the lady at the desk she looked at me like she didn't care. Thankfully a housekeeper overheard our conversation and verified that this is accurate. No joke all of this is 100% true! I've stayed at MANY hotels in my life but have never experienced such a terrible attitude toward guests in general!! We were there for 3 nights and in hindsight I wish we would've checked out after the 1st night and found someplace else!!

    Cafe in hotel.

We are enjoying our 23rd anniversary with a staycation in our own city. 5 days of rest. Complimentary breakfast is delicious. The staff is awesome. Although the security guys there are really creepy.

This is my room overlooking the Jacuzzi cabanas and pool area and the bar is at the very end which is very nice

We have been coming to this hotel for the last three years and I have nothing bad to say about them the bartender Roxanne who is there from 4 PM till 10 PM is always happy to see me and there's always bubbly and not afraid to strike a conversation. Also the front desk always takes care of my needs whether it be a fax or For letting us park our dock truck there for a few days while we go work. I recommend this place if you're in the New Orleans area great layout great friendly people there and no complaints. Cheers!!!

    Breakfast !!

At the very last minute got a booking since our a.b&b fell through. Just wonderful coming here after a very long drive and disappointing day. It's so pretty and complementary breakfast just was the icing on the cake.

Lovely boutique hotel on St. Charles I met up w| a friend here and enjoyed my time throughly, although the barmaid seemed a bit strange, her drinks were okay but could have been better. Will definitely be back to this bar.

I had issues getting into the parking garage and finally the night clerk came to help. Once she did, she didn't ask if I needed any assistance with luggage or wait to hold the door. To enter the hotel, you need to go through a door, up a ramp to the front of the hotel. Seated at the front desk right in front of the door, she watched me struggle to open it and get my luggage in. Very little knowledge on restaurants in the area. No water provided in the room, despite me being told there was. The next morning, I had issues with the coffee machine and the morning clerk told me I could just go across the street to the gas station and get coffee there. When I declined, he said he'd send someone up. They never came. When I checked out, I asked if the front desk clerk could get the door for me while I had my luggage set and he mumbled yeah, never looking up from his phone, and didn't move. Needless to say, I saw myself out to get to my meeting on time and then ran into yet another issue of being locked out of the parking garage. If they could train the staff in hospitality or at least, common courtesy, this hotel could be worth staying in. As much as I loved the feel of Hotel Henrietta, sadly I will not be back. Exceptional service is everything. I couldn't even get basic.

The wedding was great but the stay at this hotel was abysmal. The main issues are as follows; scratch marks so bad on some of the furniture, mismatched lights, lights flickering, and lights out totally, auto light in living room at night would go completely dark every 20-25 minutes, stains galore on bathroom ceiling, fridge was blowing out hot air, ac set at 68 during the day would not keep the room cool, the food at the bar restaurant was disgusting, the pillows and throw blanket for the bed were sub-par, and the room had not been cleaned properly. Overall, the suite looks great in pics but due to poor upkeep in person the suite is totally disappointing. The only highlights were Ryan B the bell captain and the valets were great as well! We felt it was one of our worst hotel stays ever in all our travels. I would never trust the Virgin brand again. There are a lot of great hotels in New Orleans but this is not one of them. We rarely write bad reviews but the experience we had over four days we would be remiss not to warn others about purchasing the Richard Branson suite for any stay. The room look beat up and no one from the hotel seems to be doing any type of quality control.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it perfect whether you want a relaxed brunch or just a fun place to grab cocktails. The building itself is an old house that's been turned into lodging and a restaurant, which adds so much charm and character. If you're visiting NOLA, this is definitely a must-visit spot. Inside, the décor is eclectic, fun, and full of personality. It's the kind of place where you can comfortably sit at the bar for cocktails, enjoy a meal, or just relax. There are several side rooms with couches and seating areas, which makes it great for meeting friends, family, or colleagues to unwind after a busy day--or even just popping in while strolling around the city. We went for Saturday brunch, and the menu isn't huge--which I actually love because it means everything is done well. There were plenty of options, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices. The seating is comfortable and spaced out so you don't feel crowded by other diners. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was really good. The cocktails were also excellent--generous pours and well made. After brunch, we walked out back to the pool area and enjoyed another cocktail while soaking in the beautiful day. It was the perfect ending to a great brunch experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place with great food, great drinks, and a uniquely New Orleans!

The stay was *beyond my expectations* (we had been there before for drinks but not to the hotel part). Every single person we encountered on staff was SO kind and fun from the moment we walked in. Started the evening at the bar, which had a great mix of neighbors/regulars (with cute dogs) and tourists. The liquor selection and cured cocktails are magical. We checked into Room #4, which was perfect. Every room at the hotel has a record player, a Marshall external mini amp/speaker and the best mini bar selection...just knowing it was there was awesome (we did eventually cave in and enjoy some flavored pretzel twists). Dinner was SO yummy. Our waiter, Jasper, was a rock star...He arranged for a nice surprise birthday beverage. We had the gumbo (a meal in itself that was so good we saved half of it to take home and ended up devouring it cold from the mini fridge before we left the next morning...it was *that good*), the goat cheese app (the bread and the honey poured on top was divine), the stuffed redfish (once I was done with my meal, the empty plate almost looked like it was licked clean...Although tempted, I was actually able to keep my composure and not do that...) and the double stack burger (also saved to bring home and perfect for a snack this evening). The room was the ideal hideaway (located at the back of the second floor) for our little staycation. We jammed out to Muddy Waters on the turntable while getting ready (next time, we are going to borrow one of their themed record stacks...It was a work night...Monday...so we had to keep things low key). It was super easy to sign into streaming apps on the room TV...After dinner, we watched the end of the NFL Playoff game and then Netflixed and Chilled. Even though there was a large-ish reception going on downstairs, we heard nothing from our room. The breakfast (included with the room) was the perfect way to start my work day the next day. It arrived right at the selected time. Delicious coffee, eggs, breakfast potatoes and crispy bacon. The hotel wifi was great. I worked for a few hours from the room (they have a generous 1:00 pm check-out time) before we headed back home. I love the jewel toned decor, repurposed furniture and quirky ambiance (artwork, photographs, hidden/not so hidden alligator motif). They give you a *real key* for the room, which is a nice retro touch. The shower was delightful, the bedding clean, crisp and comfy. I could not think of a better way to spend the first day of the 50th year of my life. We will be planning another staycation soon when it's a little warmer and we can also enjoy the pool :) Thank you, folks at The Chloe!
