In the past I've given Best Western Plus Midwest a 5. This trip the week of Sept 18 to 23rd 2026, they only earned a 3. The breakfast buffet is still exceptional, but... While it's great that they have an affordable guest laundry, same cost as nearby public laundries, they don't have clear instructions regarding how the machines work. You have to put 2 quarters in each slot for the machines to accept them. Additionally, after the washing machine ran, there was water all over the floor. I called the front desk immediately to let them know. I was in the laundry for another half hour while my clothes dryed. No one came to mop up the water. When I left I put a chair with a Wet Floor note over the water so the next person to come in would be less likely to slip and fall. I don't know when they finally came to clean up the water. ALSO, they require that you notify the front desk before 9 am if you want your room cleaned. I think I let them know around 7 am. When housekeeping was working other rooms on my floor, I asked when they would clean mine. They said that I wasn't on the list. I didn't get my room cleaned that day. Additionally, the bottom drawer of the dresser is in bad shape and hard to pull out. While not the fault of the hotel, the left turn lane on 108th to L was closed making it difficult to depart the hotel because of long queues of single lane traffic making it difficult to get onto 108th. read more

Staying in a hotel room that is neat, clean, and comfortable is always a pleasure. The room features today's smart TV, allowing you to watch anything you want instead of being limited to local channels. The room is excellent and very comfortable. I genuinely appreciate it. I highly recommend the Best Western Plus. Well done, Best Western. read more

When the first set of doors opened, we were met with a lovely scent, perhaps sandalwood. The lobby was nicely decorated for the season on entry and we found staff to be friendly. They acknowledged loyalty status & provided a snacks inside of a seasonal goodie bag. The effort definitely showed. On existing the elevator, the scent changed drastically. Stale cigarettes from decades ago would be my guess. If they don't have smoking rooms, they need a major overhaul to get that stench out. If they do have smoking rooms, they need better separation for the non-smoking rooms. The room was cleaned well & the odor was less noticeable inside, while still faintly lingering. We had a standard K room & went almost immediately for the bed, exhausted. Which brings us to the bed... she was worn out. Not getting old, not starting to wear. I'm talking sit on the edge and slide to the middle before being swallowed up by this very beyond it's best buy date mattress. Lastly, the breakfast room is huge & had tons of options. We didn't look at them all. No bananas, tho... only apples. In all fairness, every property we stayed at this trip, regardless of brand, had no bananas. We had boiled eggs, scrambled egg-like substance that was loaded with veggies & the hubs had a waffle. Coffee was drinkable. For under $100 to crash, it was acceptable. I'd prefer they raise the rate & get new mattresses! read more

Rancid vibes. Rude front staff. Worst bang for my buck I've possibly ever had. First time in Omaha and downtown pleasantly surprised me, but this hotel unpleasantly revoked and neutralized any of those feelings at best. Stay literally anywhere else. On what could improve, the professionalism of the front desk was HORRID read more

The day manager was so incredibly rude it really ruined my day. I even complained to corporate but go no response. The only saving was the guy who dog sat for me for an hour and why I left 2 stars instead of one. Him and the two friendly employees who are probably now fired because they called out the managers attitude. I know one guy did the breakfast and his ex-wife I think was housekeeping. The pool was closed via sign on the front desk. If it had been mentioned on the website (pool being why I chose here), I would have looked elsewhere. The furniture in the lobby was grimy. There were stains on my sheets. There was some kind of construction going on I think? That's the only explanation for the dirty carpets. No wY would I stay here again read more

This is a Best Western that barely deserves the Plus. It very much needs a serious refresh. The bathroom has rusty areas where the walls meet the floor. There is barely any room on the bathroom counter for your things because the space is being used for the coffee maker. The easy chair arms have fake leather which is splitting open at the top of the arms. With all those issues out of the way, the room is clean, the bedding is comfortable & the room is quiet. So, a good night's sleep is in my future. read more

We did not end up staying at this hotel due to a very serious issue during check-in. When we arrived, the front desk employee was on a personal phone call and simply told the person on the phone to "hold on," instead of ending the call or giving us her full attention. Our room total was $102 and some odd cents, but the employee mistakenly entered $10,221.00 instead of $102. This resulted in over $10,000 being taken from our bank account, leaving us $641 overdrawn. Because of this error, we were unable to stay and had no choice but to head back home. What made the situation even more alarming is that the front desk employee did not know how to process the reversal at all. Because of this, my husband had to go behind the front desk and complete the reversal himself, while on the phone with the owner -- who was in another country -- walking him through the steps. Guests should never be required to handle front desk systems or correct staff errors themselves. The staff did offer us a free room and some cereal, but at that point the damage was already done. We had not eaten all day and were simply trying to check in so we could go get food. Instead, we were left stressed, hungry, and without access to our money. We ended up driving 135 miles home, with only 203 miles worth of gas, and no money available to us because of this mistake. We were told the money would be returned to our card immediately, but as of now, it has still not been returned. I will be updating this review to let others know how many days it actually takes for over $10,000 to be returned after a mistake like this. This experience caused extreme financial stress and could have been completely avoided with proper training, attention, and professionalism at the front desk. read more

This hotel is infested with roaches. This comes after finding it in a state of questionable status, with unfinished repairs and a Jacuzzi tub that likely also had roaches in it because it was taking absolutely longer than 30 minutes to fill. Also wouldn't issue a refund and tried to fob it off on Expedia like the scam artists they are. As soon as the room was dark enough, everything from giant adults to juvenile roaches were crawling out from under the cabinets and furniture and even out from under the toilet. I will be getting this place black listed from every booking site and reporting it to every health related department and business group possible. I regret booking my anniversary night out here -- don't repeat my mistake. Thank god roaches didn't come pouring out of the tub jets read more

Had a lovely staying at this Hotel on a road trip from California to Illinois. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and was really cute with a tree and a wreath and everything. The room: super clean, perhaps slightly outdated but the bed was clean and fresh, TV choices were decent with free HBO and Max. I love when the bathroom has a sink separated from the shower area, it makes getting ready in the morning much more efficient. 4.5/5 Breakfast : this was seriously legit. Waffle maker, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, breakfast sausage and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were actually fantastic. They also had all the other typical continental breakfast fare. The coffee was better than at other hotel breakfasts we had on our route. 5/5!! Other amenities: although we did not take advantage of them the pool has a double slide situation with a play area for a little ones and the exercise area was excellent as well. They do charge $20 for a pet fee, but that still made the price is very reasonable for what you get. Although this was just a stop on our way to Illinois it is definitely a place we will hit up again next time we are in transit. read more

1st room: was very smelly: smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Asked to switch right away 2nd room: not so smelly, but the drains were clogged and the mattress was old and sunken in and the sheets had stains. My back hurt the next morning. Asked to switch to another room. Same problems: smelly room, drains were clogged and mattress was old and worn out. This hotel has bad management. The hotel needs a major remodel with new mattresses and a deep cleaning of carpets and all drains. Breakfast area was very messy and staff was not very friendly! We arrived at 8:30 (breakfast is over at 9) and there was nothing left and it was not being refilled anymore either. Horrible! Would not recommend. read more

Absolutely most unpolte front desk I've ever ran into. Not mentioned on booking site or their site is a $150 deposit...that once returned can take 2 weeks to go back in your account. I literally stood next to a couple checking in minutes after me and they made no mention of a deposit to them. Their made up policies are utterly ridiculous. You can use towels in pool area but have to leave them there...soo walking back to your room dripping wet...and they are not kind about it . They say it demanding you don't take pool towels to your room. The lady at pool just came and put chemicals in the hot tub...while I was in it! Not staying with best western again. I've previously used the numerous times ...today marks the last time. This bestwestern is far from clean and in good repair read more

Don't even check in- Should have walked out as soon as the receptionist greeted me with " what's your last name" instead of anything else like hello or welcome in but I wanted to give it a chance. The staff is very friendly! The room did have a little bit of a weird smell. Breakfast was okay

We had a decent stay. The staff were friendly and efficient. This seems to be an older property, which has been cosmetically updated, but lacks some things like USB ports (I had forgotten my power brick). Much like most hotels, there were opportunities for cleaning (dirty curtains, weird specks on bathroom wall, rust on door frame). We were probably most disappointed by breakfast. We stayed on a Monday night and the hotel wasn't very busy, so I'm not sure they tried as hard as if it was a fully booked hotel. Some things were out of order, others were not well stocked and some were prepared in ways that were suited for specific tastes. Feedback I shared in the survey sent by the property was when you are serving a limited menu, such as eggs, bacon, biscuits, the usual sort, it seemed odd to me to add green peppers and sausage bits to the one pot of eggs. I suggested it would probably fit more people's taste to serve plain eggs and perhaps have the option of some sauteed peppers and sausage pieces on the side that individuals who chose to add them to their eggs could. If it was a grand buffet with hundreds of options, having several egg dishes would be one thing, but when you just have one egg option, it seemed to just be very specific way to prepare them. In any case, very comfortable beds. We got a good rate. I don't have plans to return to Omaha soon, but I would probably choose this same hotel. read more

Do not book a stay here. I booked a room for my family and our hotel room had mold everywhere. The ceiling was crumbling apart with a hole in it. The room smelled musty and the carpet was damp. The bedding was stained. There was no housekeeping during our stay and were advised to just put trash and dirty towels in the hallway. The pool was absolutely filthy with no ventilation or air flow. The stairs leading up to the kids slide were absolutely disgusting and looked like they have never been cleaned. There were fruit flies all over the area where the continental breakfast was being served. We ended our stay early and they refused to refund us or do anything. This hotels conditions were unsafe and neglectful on their part. This hotel is filthy! read more

Pleasant surprise! We were on the last leg of our roadtrip and found this hotel last minute. Honestly the only reason we stopped was because of the pool for the kids. When we got there we saw a little work being done and I started to question it. Once we stepped inside we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, staff was nice, pool was everything and more (but please note that it is only 3 or 4 ft deep) and the breakfast was bomb! If we lived closer we would spend more weekends here!! read more

Staff was welcoming & friendly. FREE parking. FREE WiFi. FREE breakfast. Comfy bed. Room had plenty of space for us and the three kids. What were supposed to be 2 queens beds ended up being more like 2 full size beds. Dated. Our carbon monoxide monitor plugged into the wall and did not stay plugged in. The air conditioner did not stay at a constant temperature. The pool was for kids and not adults. It did have 2 slides and many things for the kids to play with. At its deepest the pool was 2 feet deep. My rating is one of three stars. read more

I stayed here for Christmas week and first off the pics make this place look far more glamorous than it is. It does appear to have been bought and remodeled but the remodel was cheaply and poorly done. I had maintenance come and fix a toilet that literally ran all night my first night, and they thanked me by stealing items from my room. The front desk showed no empathy or apologies or frankly ANY customer service whatsoever regarding the situation. They don't clean your room unless you specifically ask (even if you hang the sign that says you need it made up as I did twice bc I needed towels and toilet paper). When they finally came the 4th day, they just rehung my dirty face towels instead of giving me new ones and I only noticed this when washing my face that night because makeup and other stuff was on the "clean" towels (and I'm wishfully hoping it's my own dirt and not someone else's). But my clean bath towels had black hair all over them, my hair is blonde, but thankfully I brought my own bath towels to use. The pool was cool for kids since it's not deep, but really needs a revamp and de-humidifier and new towels since they appear to be older than me.. Then I left a very expensive pillow and pillow case which I guess they just threw it away since it's gone when I just called -- probably gone as in someone took it.. so I hope they enjoy the neck support and silk case since clearly they need it more than I do. Lastly, the location sucks. It's next to a motel 6 and abandoned hotel where people were doing drugs which is a bit awkward. My brother who lives in Omaha, car was stolen and brought to this motel 6 for reference last year. I don't recommend, I was going to switch to a Hilton since it's only about $10 more but stayed for the pool which was completely overrated. If you can afford the extra $10/night, it'd be better to stay at the hotels on 72nd or west Omaha. Lots of hotels in Omaha also have cool indoor water features. But I didn't personally experience any welcoming customer service or a great experience here at all that are referenced in other reviews (also why I stayed here instead of switching). This place was a complete let down and if I would have allowed it, would have ruined my entire Christmas trip with family. read more

We chose this hotel because of its pool (like many others have I'm sure). We have a 3 and 1 year old and the pool looked fun. Let me just say up front we had NO HOT WATER, which is unacceptable when all you are really paying for in a hotel is a place to sleep and shower. I understand when things like this happen, but they had no solution that night and refused our request for a different room, saying they were "completely full" which I KNOW was not true. The next morning we talked to the manager, who told us she couldn't do anything because we booked through Expedia. She said, "Call Expedia and then I'll approve your request." Fine, we thought. But as everybody knows it is a nightmare to try to figure these things out through a third party. Sure enough when we called Expedia and they contacted her, she only offered a 25% refund when we had requested more. Pretty low ball move, if you ask me. The pool itself wasn't even that enjoyable either. It's very LOUD and stuffy. It was pretty crowded on a Thursday night. We didn't want to stay long, so we just went back to our room and smelled like dirty chlorine the rest of the night and next day because... well... no hot water. :) Save yourself some trouble and book somewhere else. read more

Dark and sticky. Stayed here one night passing through because the pool was very unique having a slide. But the pictures online must be 10 years old and/or 10,000 customers ago. The staff, well, I'll say they tried the best "they" could but fall short in about every way when compared to staff at comparable hotels. But calling me "sweety" after every answer was demeaning like I should've known better. 1) Everything felt dirty, like it hadn't been cleaned in a month. From the moment we walked in the front door to the lobby to the halls to the elevators to our room. Front desk rep was wearing an oversized sports t-shirt that had food on it. It was stretched out and wrinkled like she had been wearing it and sleeping in it for a week. Lack of hygiene and professional attire was a theme with all female staff. I see more effort from less expensive hotels. 2) The WiFi didn't work on any devices for more than 5 mins then wouldn't reconnect. Staff had ME call the hotel's WiFi support who then proceeded to have me spend 20 mins troubleshooting. I'm on vacation and paid to stay here for the WiFi and definitely will not be spending my time on this. Other guests didn't notice the problem because many have unlimited data plans. 3) The gym equipment was rusty and sticky. The water cooler was broken and the tv didn't work. Didn't appear to have been cleaned in a month. Even pre-Covid I wouldn't have stayed in the gym for 30 seconds. 4) The breakfast: staff appeared unprepared for a typical morning. Waffle batter, OJ, and danishes were constantly out every 10 mins and staff appeared surprised. I peaked back to the kitchen to ask for refills and a staff member was standing in the open eating the same food she was serving to us mid task. And seemed put off that I interrupted her snack. She smelled terribly of cigarettes when she walked by. 5) vending machines accepted credit cards but were too complicated to get anything out. 6) the pool was the reason we stayed and our kids absolutely loved it. It was mentally exhausting trying to stay positive and make this a good memory for the kids. Overall recommendation: don't stay here. The fun pool is not worth the price with everything else broken and sticky. I would've been so much happier staying literally anywhere else that simply felt clean, had staff who appeared to think about their appearance/health/hygiene, and just a regular pool. read more

Would try not to stay here again. Walls are THIN...you can hear EVERYTHING...Especially in the morning when housekeeping is moving around -- this specifically was very loud. This hotel has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This hotel should be avoided at all costs. Nothing else was available so we had to stay here and the pool pictures looked inviting. Also, maybe remove/clean the dirty drains that are not connected to anything in the hallways and maybe carpet/deep cleaning to get rid of the smells. read more

Hotel has been upgraded since the last time we stayed and it looks really nice. Hot breakfast was a nice perk instead of having to purchase breakfast at the former restaurant. Rooms themselves are ok. The room we stayed in the toilet and shower leaked so there was constantly some sort of water on the floor. The pool is nice, and has the 2 slides for the kids toe joy as well as some floating structures however the water had a green tint to it and the pool obviously needs some much needed updates. Gym equipment was a joke. Elliptical doesn't work and the treadmills make a horrible squeaking noise. Seems like over all the place has gone downhill and we won't be staying here again. Also a bit of a security issue it appears our room someone had tried to break into at one point as the door was all scraped up around the lock. Wouldn't want to leave anything of value in the rooms. read more

Best Western Plus Midwest Inn - Hotels Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Hotel clearly has gone through renovations relatively recently - but it was a limited scope/budget renovation. Some of the areas are fantastic and some of the areas are less-fantastic. The hotel rooms are gorgeous, functional, modern, and roomy. The elevator is noticeably old - and the whole hotel shares an entire elevator. The lobby and breakfast area is, again, gorgeous and new. The fitness center equipment and pool area are still from the former lifespan. If you tend to just stay in your hotels for the room and free breakfast and the amenities aren't of huge importance, you'll love your stay here. If one of your favorite parts of a hotel is using a new gym or playing in an unfamiliar pool, you'll probably be disappointed. Especially if you just are staying the night, the hotel is more-than-enough. PROS: -Free breakfast was expansive, delicious, and fresh. They had warm and cold options. Donuts, fruits, cereals, breads, eggs, sausage, waffles, milk, juices, etc. All of it seemed fresh, and the breakfast area was kept clean and regularly refreshed. Absolutely no complaints about the breakfast. -Rooms are INSANELY roomy. These are the biggest hotel rooms I've ever been in. There was easily enough room to have fit another bed in here plus a roll-in cot while still being able to move around all of it. It was really nice and comfortable to have a hotel room that didn't feel cramped. I'd love it if more hotel rooms were this size. -Rooms are also very clean. They aren't perfectly clean - we found a towel that looked a bit dirty mixed in with our clean towels, and one of our towels smelled like motor oil. Wasn't our favorite experience. But aside from towels, it's clear they make a decent attempt to keep the hotel room looking nice. Carpet had been cut and replaced in a couple areas, and the mirror and most surfaces were shining clean. It clearly doesn't have the quality of a Hilton, but it wasn't bad. -Complimentary snacks. The room comes with a basket of complimentary snacks - perfect for kids. They had cheese and crackers, a bag of cookies, and a Quaker granola bar. They also included a bottle of water. -Pretty friendly staff. The check-in was quick and simple, and check-out was quick and simple. Nobody was rude to us while we were there. -Includes a tiny waterpark for your kids. This is complimentary with your room, and they include wrist bands with your check-in to ensure only guests are using it. It's nothing major - it's about the equivalent of those "toddler areas" that you find at most waterparks (with the addition of a 3' deep pool with a waterslide), but it'll entertain the kids. CONS: -The gym is horrendous if you weight train - and barely tolerable if you do cardio. For weight lifters, you have two ancient machines (leg extensions and a chest press) that are definitely showing their age. For cardio, most of the machines seem functional, but they're at the point in their lifespan where you wouldn't be surprised to see duct tape on various parts. There are no free weights. Towels were empty when we got there. No way to clean off or sanitize equipment afterwards. Cups for water at the water cooler were wrapped in plastic. -No adult-sized indoor pool. They do have a hot tub that adults could hang out, but there is no full-sized pool for swimming - just the waterpark for children. -Entire hotel shares a single, noticeably-old elevator. This single elevator moves relatively slowly, and that isn't helped by the fact that it's old enough that it doesn't have a "door close" button, so if the elevator is full by the third floor and needs to hit the bottom floor, you have to awkwardly stare at patrons outside the elevator while you wait for the elevator to close. A second elevator or an upgraded one would probably be a good addition to the hotel - though I'd rate it as lower importance than updating their gym. -While within driveable distance of a good amount of stuff in Omaha, the immediate surrounding area is not the best area of Omaha. Not horribly so, but not horribly modern. read more

Stayed the second weekend in January 2019 with Facebook friend Shana Morse. The jacuzzi was not hot and really ugly. Never got in but my "wife" did. It was more like a bath just to get clean. They have been Renovating this hotel and it is quite nice. You can tell the parts that aren't finished yet, but the new stuff is nice. The pool was fantastic for kids. 2 water slides and a giant fountain. The breakfast was great but I wish they had some more fresh fruit options. The happy hour was more than I expected and the snacks were great. 2 big hang ups here. Twice we reserved a room with a king bed and twice they tried to give us a room with 2 queens. The original lady who started to help us said that there was nothing that she could do to get us the room we reserved, but the older white lady actually went out of her way to get us our room. We had a sudden trip that was long and cold and late at night - Best Western was convenient, clean and comfortable and took pets with no fee! The location is very convenient - right off the highway and easy to access with gas stations nearby. The exterior looks nice and I believe this is a newer hotel, it also has a restaurant onsite (we did not eat at it this time). Both the check in and out clerks were friendly and efficient. Has fitness room, pool and breakfast - all looked nice and clean but we did not have time to use any of the amenities. Our room was very clean and large. It was decorated nicely (it seemed newly renovated?) and the beds were super comfy, not too hard and not too soft. The temperature was perfect which was a nice touch arriving late. Has in room coffee that was standard as well as a microwave and mini fridge which was really convenient! Overall Best Westerns have been on a downslide so we typically avoid them but this one took pets and was convenient to the interstate so we gambled and it really paid off! This hotel was the level of a 4 star hotel in my opinion, I can't stress enough how comfortable and nice the room was. We will definitely be returning to this hotel! read more

So far not impressed. The pool is for young kids, and gets only 3 feet deep with one big slide. The elevator is extremely slow, I have been opting for the stairs which take you not to the lobby but outside to the side parking lot. Complimentary breakfast was nice and included a breakfast burrito bar-I'd never seen that before. The only downfall was the kitchen/dining area was 90 degrees! The pros: Very helpful and nice staff, indoor pool (they call it a water park because of the water features they have), free wifi, free breakfast, one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in ever! Check out is at noon. The price was pretty good, and it isn't in the busy part of town. The cons: The smell (I think it is from people tracking in water from the pool), a very slow elevator, and the towels were dirty (the staff said they would take care of this). It was a "smokey" night. While the hotel may advertise itself as 100% smoke free, it is not. A night at the Best Western is synonymous with a night spent sleeping in an ash tray. When we complained to the front desk, the ambivalent response was, "People break the non-smoking rule all the time and we can't pinpoint who it is until we clean the room." The only time the front desk attendant smiled was when she gleefully added, "but we get to charge them $200 when we find them!" No help to us. The hotel pool is very busy with no staff and thus, by early evening, the area is quite dirty. The cleanliness of the room was not much better. When we arrived, the tub had a stomach turning hair ball in it. Overall - our suggestion is to "keep driving"... read more
