We booked a room with Priceline reserving a standard king size room. When we arrived we were informed there was a mix up and they had no room available however they did have a king size room with a jacuzzi tub available for the same price we.paid. We were then told we would not be able to rent that room because we didn't rent a jacuzzi room. Mind you the standard room was $30 cheaper than Priceline had charged us. Instead of making it easy and just putting us into the jacuzzi room (since we had been charged the higher price) we had to call up priceline that turned around and called the hotel. What a pain when all we wanted was a king and couldn't care less about the type of tub. After getting that mess sorted and checking in we made it to our room where we were less than impressed. The room had a strange musty odor and stains on the carpet and furniture. The room didn't appear to have been cleaned. Pulling back the sheets it was apparent they had not been changed and had a stain in the center. They offered a new set of sheets but we insisted on a room switch. We ended up switching rooms to a similar room with a jacuzzi tub. While the room was cleaner it still didnt meet my standard of cleanliness. The jacuzzi tub was not something I would of paid extra for and found it to be a pain when trying to take a shower. Others might enjoy it however we didn't. They offer WIFI however once I finally connected I had issues pulling up anything... Signal was not strong enough. Overall hated our stay and will never return and will look into reviews prior to reserving a room in the future.

A neat little hotel/motel in the middle of Winchester. Across the street from McDonalds (walking distance) and Donut Palace. In warmer weather, easily within walking distance of Wendy's and CVS. This hotel is set-up in a motel-style format. All of the rooms directly connect to the outside. There are no interior hallways. This makes it easy to park as you can literally park outside your hotel room to take your stuff in. This makes it more of a pain because it means I don't want to open the curtains to let in light because people are regularly walking by my hotel room window. Pros: -Probably the best hotel in town. I think there are only two. -Very plentiful and varied FREE breakfast. Cook-your-own-waffles, fruits, full-fat and 2% milk, donuts, multiple types of breads, yogurts, hot cocoas, oatmeal, and so many more. -Gorgeous breakfast nook area. Lots of tables as well as lounge chair seating. Very modern and includes outlets on the tables for charging devices. -Bed was pretty comfortable. Slept fine. -Room itself was cleaned. Wasn't worried about the cleanliness of the room aside from a stain on what looked like an otherwise-clean sheet. -AC/heat worked okay. Took a bit, but it warms and cools the whole room nicely. -Parking was plentiful. I don't think they were at full occupancy, but I had no problem finding a place to park. -Hotel has a computer and printer to use for printing/work, and it also has a fitness center. -Hotel Wi-Fi worked fine. Doesn't even require a password to log on. Cons: -The hotel room stank pretty badly. I'm not sure of what. It was a cigarette smoke smell, but it smelled uncirculated and possibly moldly. It was the worst in the bathroom. -The bathroom sink didn't drain at all. Like, literally. The drain plug was stuck cock-eyed inside of it and wouldn't open. -The "Cinnamon Bread" at breakfast was so surprising to see. We were excited. Turns out it was mislabeled. It's Cinnamon RAISIN bread. -Was awoken at 7 in the morning by housekeeping trying to get in to clean the room. Too early! They do seem to have tried to keep the place updated, but it seems like they did a huge renovation and redid a lot of things - then didn't keep things up like they needed to. Luckily, the renovation seems semi-recent, so things are still pretty liveable here - they just aren't great.

First off, I do want to acknowledge the renovations that took place some years ago. It was a…read morewelcomed overhaul of the Inn. I had a great stay here overall. Parking is great for the size of the Inn. There are times where it can get a little full, but there are additional parking spots on campus or at the Hospital nearby. The staff is typically polite and willing to help direct you to your destination. I had a great experience during my stay. The room itself was clean and felt fresh. An opportunity for some of the rooms would be to take a look at the plumbing. My room in particular had slow drainage and the toilet would run for some time after flushing. Luckily the bathroom door was solid enough to block out the running toilet noise when viewing the television. While I did not partake in dinner at Shakerrag (onsite restaurant) this trip, I have had their offerings before for an event at the Inn and it was pretty good. Decent pricing (for Sewanee) as well. Overall it was a good stay and I had a peaceful night at the end of the hall. Not too much foot traffic and easy enough to get around.

This building is stunning. We journeyed here on a crisp fall day. I can only imagine how gorgeous…read morethis is with a coating of snow. Parking is aplenty with a large private lot. We arrived right at the first seating for dinner on a Sunday. Our waiter was lovely. The decor was beautiful. The old lodge feel of the place is very cozy. The only reason I removed a star is the food. Nothing was revolutionary. Food was fine.
