Horrible experience…read more Before I even got checked in I asked to check in early and was told no. I just traveled for 23 hours to get here and wanted to at least shower and refresh before seeing family and they said no. I had to wait hours for them to check me in and no complimentary room for refreshing. First with the room, the water was turned off the day we came in. I called the front desk and the girl was completely un empathetic and acted like it was a bore to help me. Then, the TV is completely horrible with every channel pretty much looking scrambled. When I called the front desk, they said that's how the tvs are. Third, I saw multiple spiders on and in the bed and was able to take a photo of one of them on the wall. Luckily I had a slipper to swat them. Fourth, there was a light out in the room and I never even called the front desk because there was no point. The restaurant there was completely ridiculous with service and food quality but that's a different review. Lastly, I asked to print some things out for traveling back home and make copies and low and behold, they don't have a business center or even a computer or copier to use. For the money and the fact that this is supposed to be a "premier resort" they have no resort amenities, not even a fitness center, no business center, no complimentary check in or check out room, no complimentary breakfast or any complimentary activities for us to do. Oh, I also didn't mention the people being loud as anything next door and underneath smoking illegal substances, but by the 2nd night we were there the only reason we didn't leave early was because I had no time to check out since we were pretty much only there to sleep. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Five of us gathered for a conversion and a meal. And yet, the service was slow, painfully slow, and mistakes were made in how food was served and what was delivered. The food was neither great nor bad. It was tasty, but nothing special. For what you get, it was high priced, although the ambience and the beauty of the surroundings and the lake was gorgeous. It's hard for us to realize how -- when we are the only customers for the first hour that we were there, and then only one other table seated -- that we had a hard time getting water, and glasses of wine properly, and getting our meals at the same time and served properly.

They come equipped with LCD TV's, microwaves, & refrigerators. The only thing that was displeasing was the bathroom. The floor was sticky. It was long strands of brunette hair everywhere - even embedded in the towels. I honestly think it's time for new towels; they were very thin and worn. The shower was outdated and the tub slowly filled up with water while taking a shower. UGH! So unsanitary. The continental breakfast was the best part. Starting at 6 am and ending at 9, I was surprised to see: sausage, egg patties, biscuits, sausage gravy, waffles, fruit, cheese, cereal, yogurt, muffins, Danishes, etc. The staff was either hit or miss.. meaning - some were friendlier than others. While some greeted you with a smile, others ignored the fact that you were even there. Overall, I would say this isn't too bad of a place to stay if you're looking for something quick for a night. There are other hotels nearby in the area, they may be better than this.. or maybe not. It'd be up to you to take that chance. If needed, I WOULD stay here again. The bathroom is the only reason I have this place 3 stars instead of 4.

The Ashburn I-75 Northbound Rest Area in Georgia is a solid, well-designed stop for travelers…read moreheading north on I-75. It's very easy to access with smooth on and off ramps, making it a stress-free break from the highway. Parking is thoughtfully organized: cars park closest to the main building near the highway, while trucks and vehicles with trailers have dedicated spaces on the other side. This layout keeps everything flowing smoothly and reduces congestion. The rest area has an open, airy design with a central breezeway. Restrooms are conveniently split -- men's on one side and women's on the other -- and were clean and well-maintained during our visit. Vending machines are located right in the breezeway for quick snacks and drinks. Outside, there are several covered picnic tables to the side of the main building, perfect for stretching your legs or enjoying a meal in nicer weather. Overall, this is a nice, functional rest area that provides travelers with everything needed for a quick, comfortable stop. It's clean, safe, and convenient -- exactly what you want when you're on the road. Whether you need a bathroom break, a place to walk the dog, or just a few minutes to relax, the Ashburn Northbound Rest Area delivers. Highly recommended for anyone traveling I-75 through Georgia.

I took the "auto" side and had to do some careful reversing at the exit. I did not visit the restrooms or the vending machines or the picnic tables at the rest area. This was a quick stop to empty the black water in the RV. Easy enough though there is no proper spot for the host to go into. There's a "puddle" here that was very unsanitary. There was also not a hose for the flush water but there is a trash can for your gloves when you're done. I appreciate the free dump and beggars can't be choosers. But it does need some repair. We stayed at the Pelicans Landing # 204 with balcony facing an Alley named Atlantic Ave. The 3 or…read more4 story building is about 4 years old according to Pat the resident manager and in great shape. It's about one city block from the beach/ocean. The building's west end is on the main drag , Butler Ave. and another adjacent attached beach rental on the oceanside or East end, another rental is to the north. The rooms at Pelican are very nice with all the amenities anyone would expect from a rental with full kitchen, 2 baths, 3 bedrooms and very nice living room with wood floors and nice balcony for morning coffee. Most of the normal supplies are there to utilize if needed. The walk to the beach takes about 5 minutes or less depending on how much stuff you want to take, including people. We were there with some of our gen-x kids and our grandson. Of course this was the little ones (2 1/2 yrs old) first visit to an ocean and all went well with that experience over about a weeks time. Tybee beach is a nice family beach, and we were there the 3rd week of May and left just in time to avoid most of the super crush of Memorial Day 2015. But Saturday and Sunday that last weekend the small town filled up for the first big weekend of the season. The Pelican provides spaces for 2 cars per unit, we only had one. Very close to most tourist shopping and attractions from ice-cream parlors, restaurants, bars and all kinds of beach and bike rentals. Across Butler Ave. is the Sunrise Cafe, probably for the locals as well as the tourist with classic traditional American food faire, open until 2:00 in the afternoon. It's a good deal. Needless to say in a tourist beach town the closer to a weekend and the summer after schools are out for the year, the atmosphere winds up in the overnight with a younger crowd, but during the day normalcy returns for the not so young and restless. The beach scene is great on Tybee, watching and playing the various tides daily. More than enough beach for any youngsters. We had any issues taken care of by Pat and whatever crew she summoned for anything that needed fixing or supplied. We got an extra light fixture for the living room, some more beach chairs and paper supplies plus a new shower curtain that didn't want to stay up. I'd recommend that when making reservations deal directly with Pat or Kathleen as going through TripAdvisor is such a trip if you know what I mean. I.E. Pat is not a robot. The Tybee Island Beach town has tons of eating places, some famous such as in ' The Crab Shack ' among other fun places, endless hiking and biking trails, wildlife viewing and many other features we never got to in one week but probably will in the future. Personally I got my quota of seafood dinners in, really tasty. So the place was very comfortable with nice A/C and plenty of room for the 5 of us. The little guy had a great time inside or on the beach. What else can I say, it was fun! I'd recommend folks wanting to stay a week stop by 2 islands in on the way to Tybee Island all kinds of stores from Walmart, Target and Publix are available to pick up supplies before setting up at your rental. That way you can get all the fixins when you're eating in instead of out. I'll give this place 4 stars, probably really gets busier in the summer as we were there in May, but weather was great and ocean water was warm, overall great stay.
