Very unprofessional. Does not take responsibility for anything. Does no research on hotels . I chose to leave the trip 5 days early as it kept getting worse. Wish they spent as much time helping when things go wrong as they do replying to the bad reviews. As you will see all the blame is someone else. The entire group is unhappy. Hotels are not as their websites say they are. Broken air conditioning, no lounge , just a few bottles of cheap booze in the lobby. The area is not safe. Finally after 5 hours of all of us complaining and trying to reach Nichole, she decides she will move us! It would have added 2 more hours to the 14 hours and some were too tired to move. Too late! Had she done it 5 hours before it would have been acceptable. We weren't moving 11p.m.. Use a different travel group. I travel a lot and will say they are the worst I have come across. read more

I recently took a trip to Kenya and I cannot imagine any other tour operator doing a better job. Let's start at the beginning. My flight from the US landed first in London and then a second flight was to have gone to Kenya. The airline nightmare began with AA being two hours late causing me to miss my next flight on British Air. BA had given my flight away before I got off the plan and had no acceptable replacement. I spent three days and nights at Heathrow airport forcing me to miss those days of my tour. I stood in lines hours long at the airport and my second replacement flight never left the ground after being held hostage in the plane for hours. I was ready to go home. My phone would not work much of the time in the airport, but I was finally able to contact Best Singles Travel. They figured out a way to arrange for a driver to meet me at the Nairobi airport three days after my trip began and take me to Samburu, a five hour drive where the group was then located. If it had not been for this effort in figuring out a way for me to meet my group then this trip would have been lost for me. And what a shame that would have been because once I finally arrived it was magical. I saw every animal as well as much of the countryside driving all over even with missing three days. The lodges were picturesque with monkeys playing on expansive grounds, wild birds and animals, beautiful colored geckos, mountains and streams in the background where the sun met a landscape expanding as far as the eye could see producing sunsets like those seen in National Geographics. Oh, did I mention the food? No US chemicals. Just organically grown and delicious. If anyone reading this decides to travel to Kenya then I hope you stop to see David Sheldrick's rescued baby elephants. I am grateful that Best Single Travel and Patrick, our knowledgeable considerate tour guide, took the time, effort and resources to make the remainder of this trip happen for me because now I cannot imagine having missed it. I used Best Singles Travel for the Eastern Europe trip. There was an issue with one of the hotels in Vienna. The new owner Nicole, didn't respond for several hours on Monday. It was Labor Day after all. But when she realized that we were having problems with our hotel, she upgraded us to a 5 star hotel immediately and ended up paying the difference out of her pocket. I have been on other single vacation clubs and the price is right, as far as I am concerned. The only issue I have with this group is that there is no rep. traveling with us from the US. If I can give it zero stars, I would. This is WORST Single Travel. This is my second vacation and I've had problems with both trips. The only reason I am traveling on this second trip because I had already booked it (before I came home from taking the first trip) and I knew Nicole would not refund me. I am in agreement with so many of the customers who have written reviews. Nicole does not care about customers or their well being. She instead blames us and states that this is what we signed up for. I signed up for a vacation that included 4 star hotels that would be stress free. I did not sign up for hotels that don't have restaurants, room service, food that made us sick, broken AC, stale and stinky rooms, hotels that don't provide amenities (which true 4 star hotels would provide), hotels that are in a shady location, and hotels whose staff could less about resolving the issues professionally. Nicole does not respond in a timely manner and makes excuses for her actions. We sat in a hotel lobby for 4 hours so that the AC can be fixed. A decent business owner would show concern when they are told by their customers that all 3 got sick from the breakfast buffet at a "4-star hotel". This is the last time I will give my hard earned money to Nicole who doesn't care about providing good customer service. Vacations with this agency are full of problems especially during the trip when we should be relaxing and enjoying ourselves. I have never been treated so poorly by a travel agent and never had such experiences with any travel agency. Nicole needs to learn how to treat people with respect and understanding. Otherwise she needs to get out of this line of work. Pay attention to all these reviews and don't book with this agency. One more thing...if you for whatever reason decide to book through this agency make sure you are getting what you paid for. Based on the itinerary online on their website the cost of the trip includes 4 dinners and one lunch. I thought I was paying for 4 dinners and 1 lunch in the cost of the trip. Less than two weeks before the trip when she had my money she decided to change the itinerary so that the cost of the trip only includes 3 dinners instead of the 4 and one lunch. Nicole took my money for 4 dinners and 1 lunch but only gave me 3 dinners. This may not be a big deal but if an itinerary is changed to where you are not getting some of the things you already paid for you, you should be refunded. In my last trip the itinerary I paid for was changed 2 weeks before the trip where one of the major sightseeing places was removed. I was told that the online itinerary was incorrect because they had not updated it. How is that my fault?? The cost I paid included an excursion but I didn't get what I paid for because the excursion was removed. This is not ethical. Maybe that's why Nicole doesn't send the final itinerary until the last minute...so that she can make changes to the original itinerary, take things away that were paid for, hope that we don't notice it or it's too late to correct it. read more

Where to start. It was the worst vacation of my 78 years, 45 of which i traveled all over the world. They are disorganized and unresponsive and are never available when you contact them. They promised me a private room when I got to the port hotel after 30 hours of travel and when I took a walk they moved someone into my tiny room. I had to pay for another room. Then my phone was stolen from the "shady hotel" that moved someone else into my room. The Guide was nowhere to be found. Our reservations were in someone else's name (the deceased prior owner) and it took several hours to even get into the small room when I first arrived. I had to move to another hotel to get a good night's sleep since the tour leader was out drinking and eating rather than tend to her other guests until late at night (3 am our time). Never again. Do not go with this company. The tour leader had 1 year experience and none on ships. When my phone was stolen in the first hotel she offered no help and Norwegian Prima ship offered much help. Plus the kindness of strangers. Please please do not travel with this company. You will thank me. I can't attach any photos because my phone was stolen. read more

Different vacation, same type of complaints as everyone else on this site.. I was on the Portugal trip.. glad I went, as I loved Portugal, but Sheryl hired a "guide" that could barely speak English, let alone understand it.. No question got answered relevantly.. There was so much we should have, could have, done, that we saw all the other groups doing. We were a small group and my opinion is that Sheryl went "cheap". Found the cheapest guide that she could find.. I don't want to go on and on, you can read the other reviews... buyer beware. Like I said, taking the tour did get me to Portugal... it was lovely, and the best times I had were when I was on my own or with our tour members without our guide.... read more

Just returned from a European cruise with BST. Most of us were traveling on Covid Credits...and in turn I thought that was the reason we experienced a lot of hop on/hop off busses, major walking tours (many of which we had to walk 30 minutes to start our tour!) and taxi's and public transportation...(8 people in a taxi van for a 3 hour drive with a driver who spoke no english). It got to the point that I chose to pay for a ship excusion since I couldn't bear to walk another day in a city without a guide! I see from prior reviews, the cheap way out, seems to be the norm for the tours offered by BST...even before Covid. We did not receive our itinerary until 3 days before we left the US leaving no time to explore ship options (which were mostly sold out by the time we realized the lack of private tours/guides and level of walking involved). Overall the people I met on the trip were amazing and we had a great time together, but would I book through BST again....absolutely not! What I got, I could do on my own, for far less money. I took a Baltic cruise with this company in 2016 and overall I was pleased, this time, not so much. I will review the absolute facts before delving into my opinions. Timeliness: Only one time did we start our excursions within 15 minutes of the start time. Unlike the Baltic cruise, when was it because a cruise member was late, these situations were preventable. Among the things that happened were lack of coordination with the driver, the cruise start was scheduled before the ship was even docked, and the bus being parked hundreds of yards outside the gates of the port because the cruise director didn't pay $10 extra per person to have the bus come in. Three times a guest got lost at a stop and we had to find her, it was the same person twice. Also, no allowance was made for traffic so that when we started an itinerary we often got farther and farther behind, so we wound up skipping stuff. (More about that later) We also lost hours of time that were not accounted for in the schedule for traffic. Not the guide's fault but certainly predictable. What was promised and not delivered: Hong Kong. We were supposed to visit a museum that turned out to be closed Mondays. In addition, we went to Victoria Peak on a day when there was fog so thick you couldn't see a 100 feet. We could have skipped that too. Hanoi We had a visit to Thien Cung Cave scheduled. I think we had about an hour for the visit. When we got there, there were hundreds of people waiting. Instead we just motored about on the water for an hour because nobody thought we would get to the head of the line in an hour. Saigon This was most disappointing stop of all. The cruise on the Mekong River was basically a souvenir run. Because we were running behind, we did not see downtown Saigon at all except for shopping. There was time scheduled to see landmarks associated with the Vietnam War, we did not even drive by, let an alone stop or going into a museum. Bangkok The big letdown here was that we went to what our guide Kitty described as "a fake floating market". The pictures you see in the states are of a real floating market where local people sell their wares. The one we went to is basically a souvenir stand with water around it. Here are my opinions on the trip. The name of the cruise should be changed to "Southeast Asian Shopping Immersion Tour". So much time was spent on shopping that the 5 males on the tour collectively expressed our displeasure. We were really disappointed that focus of the trip was shopping when more local culture was a priority for some of us. Only the Singapore tour gave us a feel for the city and its neighborhoods. If you are considering booking a tour, read the itinerary carefully, you may be disappointed unless you really like shopping. read more

I have to write this review because of the negative experience I had with Best Single Travel. From beginning to end, it was unpleasant and the opposite of helpful. I called about one week ago to inquire about a specific cruise and that I was researching different cruise lines since I'm a smart consumer who likes to learn a little bit about the industry. After chatting for about a minute, Cheryl asked me what prices I had discovered on a cruise that I mentioned I liked, The Carnival Fascination cruise. When she found out that I had been given a particular price from singlescruise.com she immediately told me that she partners with them and that whatever price singlescruise.com quoted was the one she could give as well. Fair enough. After all, they are partners and that makes sense. What was negative about the experience was Cheryl's bedside manner. She kept insinuating that I wouldn't have a good time if I didn't go with other singles in their group excursions, that "..it's not fun to eat alone.." and "you won't know anyone.." She was extremely negative. After she found out that indeed the Fascination had sold out for my desired date she sarcastically told me that I waited too long and that I should know to purchase early as these "kinds of cruises sell out quickly." Talking to her was frustrating as well because she would interrupt you every five seconds to talk over you. Bizarre. I found that crass and not conducive to building rapport with future customers. Lastly, I did in fact ask if any of their cruises or Any cruises have "single room" options, which she adamantly answered as no. I have spoken to many cruise specialists/agents now and I have asked each one of them this question and in fact, it's the first question I ask. Then today, I called back to tell her about Norwegian's ship that has, not only single room options, but their own private single lounge!! She then tells me over the phone, "Oh yes, we have packages that run with singles rooms." The fact that she share this pertinent information after the fact is shady. Whether or not it was known before hand or not, the failure of educating a potential customer in such a blatant way denies credibility in this field. You're better off being your own travel agent because if this small experience is what I can use to gauge their service, I portend a very bad experience. singlescruise.com was also a bit dry and not helpful in being truthful about what "real" options are out there in the cruise line world, if you will. I will not be utilizing either Wendy's (singles cruise) or Cheryl's assistance as I simply think, due to how they've conducted themselves, they cannot be trusted. I'd steer clear of this organization. Do. Your. Homework. Do not take the word of a sheisty business owner who is clearly looking out for their own $$ and regard your circumstances as less important. This travel agency customer service has been below satisfactory. I called to book a trip to Hawaii which they said there was availability and to expect a confirmation within 24 hours. I was also told not to book a flight until I receive confirmation, which was in order. However, I did not hear back until more than 48 hours later which by that point all flight prices had increased. I called their office four to six times to get updates as well as emailed the help line. The travel agent apologized repeatedly and seem to empathize with my situation; however, when I got a response it was not via phone it was via email simply stating that they could not accommodate me at the price which they had charged me and I would need to pay an additional $600+ in order to travel with the group. There was no offer on behalf of the company to compromise or to negotiate with me based off of the inconvenience and the cost of airline tickets which had increased while I was waiting over 24 hours beyond what they promised. the travel agent had memorized my phone number by the time I had called after the 48-hour mark and greeted me on the phone by first name. I have been trying to call and reach them since they sent me the email requesting an additional $640 and have yet to receive a call back. I have left two thorough voicemails requesting a call back, as well, with no response. I only think that it is fair and appropriate that when a company does not meet their end of the agreement that there needs to be some sort of compensation for willing customer. The extra cost is for me to have my own room and on the website that was advertised as a convenient options however it is not my fault that they overbooked the trip and I do not have the option to book with another person. There has been lack of transparency through this process. I did my part and paid the full price for the vacation upfront as requested. I highly do not recommend this organization for a travel agency. Horrible! Unprofessional. I took a trip to Mexico with this sham of a company, they match you with a same sex roommate, no questions asked! My hippie roommate refused to leave the air conditioning on, she basically left the sliding doors wide open so sand crabs and other insects could crawl in, triggering my asthma and allergies so bad my throat almost closed up, not to mention anyone could have walked in our room and robbed or raped me! My sheets were soaking wet from humidity and the room was like 90 degrees! I spoke to the guide instead of moving my problem room mate who refused to be civil, they moved me. Thus giving this crazy lady the entire room for herself with no extra charges, and putting me in with another women who was kind enough to let me share her single room. I called the company and complained and nothing was done. No refund, no apology, no future trip credits! Never again! read more

I've used them twice, and their itineraries are really well put together! They have reasonable prices for all that you get, including a guide on hand for any last minute needs during the trip. The last trip I did was Rome and the Amalfi Coast...it was beautiful and fun. And you get great people on them too (or I've been very lucky). I highly recommend trying them out! read more

I have been declared a world traveler!! I am a simple southern girl from North Carolina who had never been to Europe. My first trip was to London, Paris, and Amsterdam. All I can say is WOW!! What a great trip, enjoyed almost every minute. What a culture shock! (in a good way). I decided on this trip knowing that someone else had everything planned for the group, and that is how it was. It is at best, difficult to travel alone, much less know anyone when you arrive. I enjoyed this trip in its entirety. The only negative would be that several members of the group went off on their own and did not invite others. My next trip was to NYC in the states at Christmas time and it was awesome! I then took the trip to Ireland and Scotland last August, 2013. What a beautiful place! I can now converse and interact with others when they are talking; whether it is someone who wants to know more about Ireland/Scotland or those who have been and comparison of our interests. I cannot say enough about how these trips with BST have really changed my life. I can identify more on a cultural level, and when I see places on TV or in magazines, I will say 'I have been right there!!". The trips with BST have enriched me as a person. I am able to go where I want to go without worrying or wandering about someone to go with me, as is so true when you are single. I would highly recommend or encourage those singles out there to go on a trip with BST and it will open up your eyes to the world.
