When you maybe lucky enough to find the place open look out for the rip off prices. A £3.99 bottle of wine could cost £5.99. And if you want a newspaper make sure you get there early enough to buy one of their limited edition copies and don't even bother to look for a magazine as sold in most good newsagents. All in all a badly managed establishment aimed to rip off the punter.

At the back of the store you'll find the only post office in the centre of town. It isn't really big enough for a town the size of The Bay so you can sometimes find yourself queuing for too long. I first came across Toffeeworld on the Internet and was pleasantly surprised with the next day…read moreservice. On a recent visit to Colwyn Bay I called in to talk to the manager Wayne. I didn't realise how many different sweets and toffees were manufactured. Wayne reckons he has over 5000 jars alone. His knowledge of Sweets is exceptional and was clear to point out the different quality of what appeared as the same sweet. He stocks most popular cheaper brands, but prides himself by comparing the difference of a cheap sweet selling at say 60p per 100gms and one at 99p the flavour is so much better and well worth the extra. But, most people won't pay that little bit extra for quality, they want quantity. I bought some Lemon Sherbets. Oh! the difference, the dearer one was so much better that I promised myself never to buy Cheap & Nasty only "The Best for me" in future. Good Luck - Alan Berkeley

I had the jammy wagon wheel and the banana, which were both excellent, and not cheap tasting chocolate ice cream which I'm really not a fan of. Prices are okay, staff are nice enough, tea cups as lamps and a bit of theming going on. Loos are a bit tatty, and can get not perfectly clean at busy periods. Worth a visit, I'd get a cone and travel out.

On a side note, I've noticed that honeycomb is a very popular ice cream flavor in the UK. Anyways, I decided to go with a single cone of ferrero rocher and it was a pretty wimpy scoop for 2 pounds. Not very impressed by that. The flavor that I got was okay, but I was just overall a bit disappointed, and because of that, I probably wouldn't return to this ice cream place if I ever came back to Llandudno.

It is very small and isn't the sort of place you'd ever think of for the weekly shop. However if you need a newspaper, loaf of bread or tin of beans you'll probably find them here as despite the lack of space they squeeze in most of the basics. It isn't the best location for parking but I suppose most of the potential customers live within walking distance. They also have long opening hours and always seem to be open when I go there. A very useful community asset.

They stock basic foods, rent DVDs, have a lottery machine, sell papers and a huge selection of magazines, cigarettes, beer and wine etc. A great little addition to the village. The food prices are massively more expensive than tesco or morrisons etc, but for the sake of convenience when you just need a loaf of bread it's fantastic. If it saves you jumping in the car, you've made the money back already. The place is under new management since about a year I think, the owners/staff seem to be very nice people, the Brummy girl behind that's usually behind the counter always has a smile and a hello for you.
