Their new Welsh Pantry is Just fantastic. Wonderful Welsh made products and a great selection of Welsh Ales and Lagers (including Purple Moose Brewery and Tomos Watkins). The freshly baked bread is just amazing and the eccles cakes are even better.

There is a freezer so you can get stuff to keep, and ice cream. They have a cash machine, and a DVD lending club. The staff are usually very helpful. The shop offers cashback if you pay by debit card. There is no proper car park, but there are about half a dozen spaces outside in the road that are quite safe to use. Very usefully just down the road is a chip shop, so you can get fish and chips - and an ice cream dessert to follow.

Step inside however and it's a typical Spar with loads of stock crammed into a relatively small space, which does mean that the aisles are quite narrow so it can be awkward to move around. However this is a small price to pay for a decent selection of competitively priced goods. I also have to say that in my opinion the Spar has the friendliest and most cheerful workers of any shop in Caernarfon.
