During my journey to find the Best NY Pizza... I ran across a place in Tampa Florida called Best NY Pizza! Now, that's a very bold statement to make for someone born and raised on NYC pizza. At first glance I was impressed by the cleanliness and friendly service of this restaurant, their displays will make you mouth water in expectancy. When my pizza pie was ready it looked good, but I quickly noticed it lacked the NY Pizza aroma. I carefully examined a slice and quickly noticed the lack of olive oil and the corn meal on the bottom. There's a saying that the proof of the pudding (pizza) is in the eating and after my first bite, the Best NY Pizza did not register instead I got meh and bleh! :/ The Best NY Pizza's I have learned come from Mom & Pop's places and any restaurant making grandiose claims are usually not. Decided to dine in this evening. We hadn't been here in years! Place was not busy at all so we walked in and grabbed a booth. Greeted immediately with drink orders taken. For entrees I ordered the stuffed shells dinner and hubs got the medium Best Pizza which is basically a supreme. Food came out hot and fresh. The shells were delicious. The pizza was great. Nice crisp to it which hubs liked a lot. But $28 for the pizza I thought was a bit steep. At first I thought we were charged wrong. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. My coworker has been before, first time for me. They had a slice special. He got cheese and I got white. Mine had huge dollops of Ricotta and garlic sauce; so tasty! Updating my review for this one. Dined in last night and had the pleasure of being served by Olivia, who was easy to converse with and added to our experience. She upsold us from the large to XL (family sized) pizza which was such a good idea for only a dollar more. Cabernet by the glass was only $6. Unlike my previous review, the pizza came out piping hot and delicious! There was plenty left over for lunch this week. We loved it when the nice lady was working as our pizzas always came out right, but when the other shift people were working it was a greasy, over sauced, soggy mess. After that we noticed even when she was working it was becoming worse and worse. We brought it, nicely, to her attention and she was so professional and I had high hopes for our next visit. It's my husbands birthday so I strong armed him in to ordering pizza from Uber Eats. I ordered our usual. 16' meat feast pizza. No meatballs. Extra pepperoni. Light sauce and well done. The very same thing we order when we physically go there. I then asked for Parmesan cheese and crushed peppers on the side. Nothing about our pizza was right. We paid $32 for the pizza and Uber Eats charge only to be left disappointed. The pizza itself was lukewarm. My husband is not happy. I use Uber Eats at work. Always a great experience. Place is wack. I walked in to place an order not a single person in the restaurant or even sitting outside waiting for a pizza. So I placed an order for a med pepperoni and a med cheese came to $40 a little over priced in my opinion. After waiting 25 mins I walked back in and sat at a booth I watched guy walk from back with what looked like two med pizza but I didn't say anything as I know maybe they have other orders. I waited about 10 mins as the cashier was on her phone and even went and sat in a booth before I stood up and asked if that was my order and of course it was. So I waited 25 mins for order to be cooked and another 10 mins of order sitting yonder heat lamp before asking if it was mine. Overall it was a bad experience and way over priced for an average pizza I don't recommend and I won't go back. What a waste of 40$ read more

I have come to accept that Best NY Pizza is our go-to sit down pizza restaurant on Friday nights with the kids. The restaurant is typically clean and we are always seated quickly. The staff has always been friendly and the quality of the food is better than their nearby competitors, so we keep coming back. That being said, there is some room for improvement. On our most recent visit, the dozen garlic knots that we ordered were served cold, which was a disappointment. I was not keen on their beer selection, so I opted for an unusual change (for me). Sangria. My expectation was a fruity cocktail in an oversized glass that I could sip on during the course of dinner. What was delivered was a dirty wineglass with no fruit and some cheap sangria from the ABC store next door. I will say that the pizza was 100% on point, hot and delicious when it arrived at our table. Even with my four star rating, Best NY Pizza does have the best tasting pie going in Carrollwood for sit-down family-style pizza. On May 19th, I ordered a medium calzone with ham. I was so looking forward to it. The food here was always very good in the past. This was the worst calzone I have ever had. It was totally flavorless and the ham was nonexistent. The boy behind the counter just put it down and walked away. This should have been a clue. The always opened the food to show you before you got it. I feel confident the business has changed hands. The only thing NY about this calzone was the price. It was over $20.00 for this huge disappointment and undersized serving. The size of the calzone was small and flavorless. The attention that the owners once took is now non-existent. This was the first time we ordered from here and the pizza was very good! I deducted a point for the price and difficult experience I had. I was super hungry and had ordered over the phone an 18" 4 cheese pizza with mushrooms and an 18" Philly Cheesesteak Pizza without green peppers (my partner absolutely can't stand the taste of green peppers, which is a shame in itself ). When I got there 20 min later, my pizzas weren't ready but it was only a 5 min wait to get them. Unfortunately, they forgot to remove the green peppers and I had found out after almost driving out the parking lot. Unfortunately, I had to wait, what felt like another 20 min to get it. I admit I was hangry and every minute felt like an eternity . The guys were nice and tried to offer me a free soda but we don't drink soda and I thought that was a bit of a half hearted way to make up for the extra time lost and my other pizza getting cold. The pizzas smell was absolutely divine in the car though! Price: these were pretty expensive pizzas, about $30 each with taxes. I did get specialty pizzas but I was still taken aback at just 2 extra large pizzas totaling to $60. 4 cheese Pizza with mushrooms- this was absolutely delicious. The mushrooms were a nice, thin and slightly crispy texture. The sauce was sweeter but not acidic. 5/5 Philly Cheesesteak Pizza without green peppers- this was another great pizza! I received a coupon for a free 14" cheese pizza from Best NY Pizza. Having never tried it and thinking that was a very thoughtful offer I placed an order that included a large Greek salad and a small tossed salad as I wanted to buy something to support their business and not just take. I asked the person on the phone if the salads were worth the price and how many they would feed, and he answered that the large would feed 3-4 and the small 1-2 and that the salads were full of pepperoncini , cheese, olives, tomatoes, and red onion. As vegetarians, we're fine with paying more for a good salad with fresh ingredients. I'll start by saying the pizza was good. I lived in Brooklyn for many a years and the cheese has that stretch paired with the thin crust and strong taste of oregano just like all good NY pizza has. I would give the pizza 3.5 stars. The salads, however, were disasters. $6 for a small tossed salad. A whopping $12 for a large "Greek" salad. $18 total for two salads that were literal $1 bags of iceberg lettuce. On their website they show a blend of romaine and iceberg and fresh cut vegetables - not a chance that's what they're selling. Pictures attached. They nickel and dime for everything. They charged a little less than a dollar for croutons that are the tiny fake kind that you dump on soup - a whole maybe 8 of them. They charged $2 for a cup of dressing because they didn't have Greek and we didn't know what "creamy Italian" meant (why don't you have Greek dressing when you sell a Greek salad?). There were no pepperoncinis, not even 1/10th of a small tomato, and the red onions were clearly bagged and from a Sysco food service order - not fresh. They had a terrible metallic taste. I looked for a way to contact the owners to let them know, and there's no email or way to contact them anywhere: no email on their website, no messages accepted through social media - nothing. They weren't accepting calls at 8:58 when I tried to follow up. Truly disappointed. Do not waste your money on people who don't respect their customers. It's fine to charge money for a good product, but don't try to tell me that the hay you're selling is gold. read more

The Parmesan garlic wings were AWFUL. One bite and you could tell that something was OFF. Either they were cooked in very old oil or the chicken itself was off. Anyway, they were inedible. I was impressed with how many options were available for an individual that comes here for lunch. I initially had planned on getting a personal sized pizza for myself, but ended up being swayed by the lunch specials that they have. There are many different options available with some of them including specialty pizza, New York style pizza, or a combination of the two. I ended up selecting the special that was two slices of Sicilian pizza, a garlic knot, and a can of Coke for around eight or nine dollars. I hadn't had Sicilian pizza in a long time so it was a welcome change from my normal routine. I definitely liked it and I'm curious to see what their New York style pizza is like. I was very surprised by the interior of this restaurant. When you walk in it's the standard assortment of booths and tables (along with a walk up counter for ordering) that you would expect from a pizza restaurant. However there is another room adjacent to this that is a nice looking dining area. This is closed for lunch but I peeked inside and was surprised at how big it was.
