My oxtail was pretty good but on the spicier side due to all the peppercorn in the sauce. However, the mango chutney and coleslaw helped with reducing the spice. In terms of flavor itself, it very mild. I prefer more thyme, tomato paste and just more seasoning in general. The place is definitely on the cozy side since most of their seating is outside. Unfortunately it was 32 degrees so I opted for inside where there's only 4 tables. I was a solo dinner, so I was placed with a group which was fine with me since it was so cold. But heads up for any anxious solo eaters that you may have to sit with strangers. The waitstaff were really nice and accommodating which I really appreciated. Overall I'm glad I stopped by to eat

We arrived just before they opened, but the kind staff allowed us inside anyhow. We got sat, ordered some ciders and chatted with the bartender. He as extremely friendly and gave us a lot of recommendations for our holiday visit in the London area. It's a small restaurant but we were the only ones in for awhile around lunch time on a Thursday. I tried the chicken and waffle sandwich. Had excellent taste and the add-ons really made the sandwich complete. The bf got the chicky tenders and they had a great flavor. The fries were delicious and they had many different sauce options. I will recommend this place to friends in the area in the future simple for the fun name, American cuisine and friendly service

All that to say, this is some of the best bar food you will find in London. The chicken dippers made from thigh meat (!!), any of the wings (although they could have been deep fried to a nice crunchiness before being tossed in sauce) and the ranch fries (a big mound of fries topped with cheese ranch dressing and salsa. Everything was a great representation of the best junk food America has to offer. Excellent! But seriously, this is not the venue for a tête à tête because you will be screaming at one another to be heard. A great place if you want to bring on early deafness but not if you actually want to have a conversation!

We got there quite early, around 6pm, and first thing you notice are stools all along the fire spit to watch your chicken cook. If you prefer a less entertaining view, there are tables on the back side of the restaurant. Sometimes it is best to have a simple menu. Chicken, a few sides, dessert and drinks. For 2 people, a whole chicken is just about right. They offer you two sauces, hot and some smokey sauce and to be honest the chicken is so well seasoned I didn't really need any of the sauces. It was really damn good chicken. We ordered a side of fries to share - they were quite good when they're hot. There were a lot of small pieces towards the end you don't even bother with. They were okay. As we were sitting at the bar, I saw them prepare the apple pie and luckily I had room for dessert. They brought us nearly a quarter slice of the pie with two scoops of ice cream! It was really, really good.. could've made it a meal in itself.

So today when we were considering where to eat for lunch we decided to finally try it out. BEST DECISION. My boyfriend and I shared a half chicken, along with the butter lettuce and avocado salad, corn on the cob, and a slice of apple pie. All the food was incredible!! Both of us had plenty to eat and weren't so full we felt sick. As if the food wasn't enough to convince us to want to come back again, the atmosphere was great. The decor is rustic and simple. The kitchen is open and surrounded by a bar where you can watch the chefs work (we opted to sit there and observe...it was mesmerizing). If you are a larger party there are bigger tables in the back too. And their staff were so friendly and conversational. Will definitely be going back!

Although I had planned on trying out several items from their menu, the boa bun caught my eye and I couldn't resist giving it a try. I opted for the mama chicken boa, it's one of the largest I have had. While the bun was soft and fluffy, I have to admit, the chicken could have used a little more seasoning to really elevate the flavors. Unfortunately, the service was nothing to write home about. We were barely acknowledged and left feeling a little disappointed in that department. I would probably still revisit to try other menu items.

It's a really cute little piece with seating outside and in. I'd say there's only enough seating for around 20 people max but if you can grab a table it's definitely worth it. I opted for the chicken noodle salad and we shared the beef and pork dumplings. The service was fast and you could tell straight away that the food is cooked fresh and well. The noodle salad was cold which I wasn't expecting but it was delicious! There was tons of chicken in it, perfectly spiced in a satay like sauce and I loved the sprinkled peanut on top! Now to the dumplings! My gosh, they were SO good! Soft, juicy and a huge piece of meat and spice in the middle! I didn't want them to end. I could have easily eaten another plate! If I returned I would leave the salad and just eat two plates of dumplings. They were just too good! Price wise, for Brixton market central it's pretty decent - around 30 in total for two noodle salads, two portions of dumplings (both large portions) and drinks!

This is a small independent resturant run by the owner with a small staff group, from what I could see. The interior is quirky lots of good photos from a time gone by. The furniture is an crazy mix from a church bench to standard tables and chairs. The bar is available for, just a drink or you can sit at the bar and eat. The menu is as you would expect, jerk chicken, curry goat, fritters, home made deserts, including ice cream. Service, potentially, could be a little slow as they had a 50th birthday party in, but in actual, fact that did not slow anything down. The owner was friendly and happy to engage. The food was flavoursome, a good spicy kick was served with my jerk chicken wings for starters. I did expect a little more heat from my curry goat, but the meat was so tender I wouldn't grumble to much about that. I will return here, I liked the ambience, there was music but you did not need to shout to have a conversation.
