Took us a long time to figure out who to go to to buy a video card. We initially went to the back to the geek squad and they told us to go to the middle section, the middle section told us to go to the front and the front told us to go back to geek squad... eventually we were sent to online pick up area where we were able to buy the video card there... but took about 20min for all this. I went to collect a laptop that I got on cyber Monday. when I got there there was a hole in the box so I told the girl that I would like to see the laptop before I bought it because I'm not paying for something that could have been damaged. she told me that I have to pay for it in order to open the box. I'm not paying for something that could be broken so I asked to talk to the manager who when in the back and got me a different laptop. anyway I go to pay and then she tells me that its $90 more expensive than what I had reserved online!!! I'm showing her the order number and the price! she trying to argue with me telling me that i have to pay. then she goes to someone men that are all standing around talking about the World Cup and one guy goes wait a minute and leave me standing so they can finish there conversation!!! i have NEVER seen customer service at it's lowes!!! *Post-renovation Review* Extra star for the renovation - it's a serious upgrade. Not only does it look better, but it's like going into a completely different location from the sad, tired little box it once was. A whole bunch of the piddly merchandise previously cluttering the aisles has given way to extensive new kiosk-style areas with higher grade merchandise. The appliances section is completely overhauled and boasts a lot more of the higher end kitchen and laundry appliances. There's a whole new area dedicated to fitness tech merchandise, with everything from the cheapest FitBit to the new Movados approaching the $1,000.00 mark. Speaking of which, it was a shopping excursion specifically for a fitness gear item that brought me back in after years of ignoring this location. It tends to be busy in here in the early evenings, but after finishing with his current customer, I got a sales rep who was extremely helpful and patiently walked me through the items I was considering. He provided examples of customer feedback and his own considered opinions on the pieces I looked at and I settled on a product that seemed to fit the bill for my criteria very well. I had to wait for the item to be shipped as it wasn't currently in stock, but I was able to pick it up within 2 days. Turned out that the item didn't seem to be living up to its expectations, although I won't fault Ino, the sales rep who helped me select it. He had provided the recommendation based on what he had heard from other customers, and I'm still glad he steered me away from what I had originally thought I was going to buy as he provided good technical info on its substandard performance. He assured me that I would be able to exchange it if I didn't like it (and he would be appreciative to hear my own feedback if that turned out to be the case). So, I came back in about a week later and, although it was again very busy and I had to flag one of the harried staff (definitely losing at least a star on the challenges with adequate customer service staff), I was able to exchange it on the spot, no receipt no box no charger, for a replacement. It was very much a hassle free exchange, although you can see that the lone staff at the Customer Service (read: RETURNS AND COMPLAINTS) counter was working very hard to keep up with the steady line-up and wasn't wasting an atom of unnecessary time/patience/energy. She was ever so slightly abrupt but I forgive that easily in view of her efficiency and competence in handling my (and everyone else's) exchange. Bravo Woodbridge Best Buy. Stepped into the Best Buy to ask about my laptop because of the Battery, I know it's the Battery and the Geek Squad Guy was looking for a price, and not telling him the make of the laptop or anything (it was a Dell) he looks through a binder, for a price, asks another geek squad guy, then hey both look at the binder, then he says be right back, comes back then he says it's going to be $250 LMAO... I laughed. I told him my laptop was $450 2 years ago so i told him the battery on the site is $49 and I started talking to another Geek Squad guy and he told me to check online and buy it from a third party if I don't want to pay $250. Lol okay Went on Amazon and got the Battery for $50 The knowledge of battery replacement for laptops was like an unknown for them... Unlike most people who post complaints here against Best Buy or Geek Squad, not only am I sharing my own experience of their deceptive anti-consumer practices so as to warn other consumers, but more importantly, I'm also sharing several lesser-known but fairly effective steps you can take yourself to make your complaints known to Best Buy, assuming you have genuine complaints. I purchased a highly-recommended laptop from Best Buy in Toronto in January 2020. Starting in December 2020, and still within the warranty period, my laptop suffered 3 successive catastrophic failures in the span of 3 months - 2 of which required motherboard replacements. Each time I made clear to Best Buy and Geek Squad that I required a replacement laptop, since each fatal crash was causing severe disruption to my small business. Each time, I was assured by Best Buy and Geek Squad representatives that my repaired laptop was completely fine, and they refused to give me a replacement despite me having purchased a 4-year Geek Squad Protection Plan. Can you imagine buying a new car, having the engine fail on you 3 times in 3 months to the point of needing replacement, and then being told dismissively that your car is fine and isn't a "lemon"? That's exactly how Geek Squad's Protection Plan works - completely fails you when you need it most. If, like me, you think that Best Buy's conduct towards you, as a consumer, was just plain wrong, why not let them know they should be taking it seriously? Try these three approaches you may not have previously considered: 1. Email Mat Povse, Best Buy's Senior Vice President, Retail & Geek Squad Services, at mpovse@bestbuycanada.caand matpovse@bestbuycanada.ca, and inform him personally of your issue. 2. Did you know it's illegal for any business in Ontario to give you false information about their products or services, including stating that a product is a certain quality when it isn't, or promising to deliver a service or product when they should know that's not possible? All of these things are illegal under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002. Would be 0 stars if possible. I bought a Macbook Air in November 2016 with a 4-year Geek Squad Protection plan (the plan was $399.99). So you think paying for the extended warranty would give you better service right??? NO. DO NOT, AND I SAY THIS WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING, DO NOT GET CONNED INTO BUYING THEIR EXTENDED GEEK SQUAD WARRANTY. Here's the story: a couple weeks ago, I noticed my Macbook AIR shutting down by itself around a 50% charge, but I could still use it. Last week, it started shutting off on a 95% charge, and eventually wouldn't even open unless plugged into the outlet. I called geek squad. Dead silence first call. Second call, was put on hold for a "6 minute", "6 minute", "8 minute", "11 minute", and "15 minute" queue. Why are queue times increasing? Wouldn't staying on the line reduce my queue? Ridiculous. So eventually I gave in to the *call you back at the number you called with* option. Guess what? That 15 minute queue has turned to 100+ hours (I am still waiting for my call back). Guess 24/7 phone support is nonexistent. I figured okay, it's under manufacturer's warranty so I'll call apple and see what they say. They picked up immediately and set up a Genius Bar appointment. I arrived in-store, and was serviced right away. I picked up my fixed laptop within 40 minutes! I wish I got Apple Care instead of this crappy Geek Squad warranty, so I looked up the terms and conditions to cancel this policy. I noticed it said under clause 10.b) that I can call to cancel for a pro-rated refund. So, I called Geek Squad repeatedly and was always given dead silence (4 times). I gave up and contacted online support. Two occasions with two different agents: Danny O and David both called me from the Online Support and they said "not my department" so they transferred me to the Billing department: Jessica and Sandra, who then said "not my department" and transferred me AGAIN. To what exactly? DEAD SILENCE. The phone disconnected on these two separate occasions again after waiting on the line for 15+ minutes explaining my issue TWICE. The third time I contacted their online support through a number they provided me, they transferred me to billing again and I told billing to actually connect me with someone. This time they connected me to someone, who also said "not my department", that there was nothing he could do, and to go in-store for the refund! So obviously frustrated wasting 2+ hours of my life chasing people for answers, I gave in and went to the store in-person. I see three people at Customer Service. Only Tiff was doing her job initially, with two girls on their phone in the back. For sure one Caucasian woman wasn't on break because when the line was building, Tiff asked her to hop on the next desk, and she left her little corner nook and did it asap (if you are reading this Best Buy, check your cameras for the Customer Service desk around 11:10 am on July 17, 2017). So I explained my situation to Tiff and she called Geek Squad, who didn't pick up for her either. One east-asian man and the caucasian woman then chime in to look at my receipt and come to tell me I cannot get a refund. Frustrated, I refer to clause 10.b which states I can get a pro-rated refund. I then hear the caucasian woman mocking me 3m away, telling the other two that (paraphrased): she looks so innocent, but then *chihuahua noise*. Tiff responds, "it's the quiet ones". I then get called over to look at the computer and look up the terms and conditions myself. Apparently I was looking at the wrong terms and conditions. WHAT? All Geek Squad had to do was PICK UP THE PHONE and tell me I couldn't cancel so I didn't have to waste so much time on the phone and my time to come in-store. The east asian man asked me what was wrong with my computer and said I could have just brought it into the store. I said, am I not paying for the 24/7 remote service? and he said "yes but you have to come in-store for the diagnostic test anyway" and I'm thinking ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SERIOUSLY, WHAT DID I PAY $400 FOR? DEAD SILENCE? MY PAMPHLET CLEARLY STATES 24/7 CUSTOMER SERVICE. He said it was unfortunate that I went to Apple instead of coming to Best Buy because I made the initiative to go to Apple. Well sir, I went to Apple because they actually picked up their phone and could actually set up an appointment for me! Horrible and frustrating experience, and equally frustrating employees. He said I came in there "guns blazing" when I could have just brought my laptop in for repair, mind you, I'm sure anyone who paid $400 for 24/7 support to receive NONE of it would be pissed off too. The misinterpretation here is that I am dissatisfied with their poor service to PICK UP THE PHONE to diagnose my problem and to cancel the warranty, not that they didn't service my laptop. Anyway, it's been real folks. DO NOT BUY GEEK SQUAD WARRANTY. They will give you the runaround on the phone for hours resulting in nothing but wasted time for the consumer. read more

For 30 minutes, I was left unassisted as I searched for my product. 5 associates (2, of which, were managers) passed me by without so much as inquiring as to whether or not they could render any assistance. I approached the Customer Service Desk and inquired as to whether or not an employee could assist me in a search for my product. I was brusquely ignored. Infuriated and 45 minutes after remaining unassisted, I approached the attendant at the front of the store and asked if he could contact an employee to assist me. To the attendant's credit and my relief, he had managed to contact an employee. To my dismay, this employee then insulted the intelligence of the attendant, stating that the product was not related to his department and blatantly ignored me. In an attempt to insult my intelligence, this employee also claimed that the store does not carry product older than a year, to which I politely informed him that a nearby product that is carried at the store is over 3 years old. He then retorted that this was not his department and left. This employee did not offer to check for any spare copies, nor did they offer to perform a search for store stock at any other location. After an hour of being ignored and my intelligence insulted, I left and went to Walmart. I managed to find my product and receive impressive customer service from an employee there who also happened to retain in-depth knowledge regarding the products they sell. To boot, she was a high school kid and not a lifer. TL;DR: I have never seen such disregard for ensuring a sale from a customer. I am appalled by the lack of knowledge, courtesy and customer service I had to put up with, despite these being the very things that the store claims they have by leaps and bounds. read more

I Legit felt like a nobody at the store... no one acknowledges when you are at the store. It feels like the workers are there just for a social gathering. I patiently waited for an associate to finish his/her time with another customer and after it was done, he/she walked right past by me, no eye to eye contact and looked like it was done on purpose even though I was CLEARLY within view. Sounds like I'm overreacting but trust me...you get a vibe there that they don't want you there. Toxic environment and is not what I expect from an electronics shop. Here's the deal....it's a Best Buy so you know the score. It's the customer service that makes the difference. Visited this store strictly for the location (as it's the closest to where I live). Went in looking for a lap top (that was on sale). After looking at the various options they had available, I waited...and waited..and waited... for a staff member to even acknowledge me. There were several working in the department, but a group of 3 male employees thought it was more interesting to stand around talking to each other rather than helping customers. Anyways, I managed to speak to one (when they had a break in their conversation) and showed him the lap top I wanted..and was told that it was "out of stock". I asked when it would be coming in, to which he responded "either tonight or tomorrow or next week". Since that's quite a time span, I asked if another store had it in stock and he responded "they might....but I'd go home and check the Best Buy website before you go over". He also told me I could then "hold" the laptop if it was in stock, or just order it from the website as they offered free delivery for items over $100. While I get it's busy and that I was interrupting his "meeting" with his coworkers...it was evident that I wanted to buy and he could have checked another store on my behalf. Terrible service! This place is swamped With a bunch of losers who think they are know it alls! Pushing to sell you items you don't even need or like! Half of the stuff is damaged or isn't working properly! I can't tell You how many things we had to return and exchange! And once you do try to get an exchange, they will waste at least an hour of your time trying to up sell you more crap you dont need, like their geek squad services, their warranties and selling you items that they know will be on clearance soon and you will have a lot of trouble returning! And will waste another hour out of your day going back and forth discussing it with a manager! More like wasting more of your time, if you do t end up buying more stuff, forget about the exchange! They only Make it seem that they are trying to help you! Once they sense your getting upset and are understanding the game they are playing, the guys get very rude very fast! I don't know about you! Not surprised by the negative reviews at all. Staff is unhelpful and abrupt, if they're present at all. It seems like anything is more important than customer service here. Some staff try to be helpful but most just honestly ignore customers. Also, products advertised being in stock online are not in stock in store. Arun and Elena were the only ones who helped me, and they was friendly and tried to help as much as they could. The units on display don't have corresponding stock to purchase, and many display stands just have bare charging ports sticking out, the product they offer is lacking. I prefer best buy if you're going to reserve online or order online but this particular location is highly disappointing. I only ever come in if I am able to reserve online, and just pay quickly to get in and out quickly. read more

If I can give a negative star for Best Buy company I will. I ordered an open box gaming Dell laptop on Dec.31, 2018 online and received it a few days after the new year of 2019. I tried to start the laptop and it didn't work so I brought it to Woodbridge to return on Jan.09, 2019. A customer service girl gave me credit for another open box with same model and I received it about days later. According to Best Buy the laptop has ONE YEAR manufacture warranty because it's NOT a refurbished item. At sometime in Nov. 2019 I saw a black vertical line (dead pixels) on the screen but it seems to expand bigger so I checked Dell website for repair and I found that the warranty expired on 22 oct. 2019 which is only 9 and a half months warranty. So I thought Best Buy will take care of warranty for the rest of warranty months. Recently I have brought the laptop to Best Buy to see who will be responsible for warranty and a tech guy told me to go back the other days to talked to his manager. I have come back to see the manager but he asked his tech guy to talk to me; so the first response from him is "If it's a new purchase then we could return the laptop to Dell but this laptop is almost a year so we could not return". I said "It's a one year manufacture as per Best Buy". The second response from him is "It's an internal damage, warranty won't cover this." I asked "Will physical damage be covered by warranty?" He could not answer. I continued "So what is warranty for?" He said "Warranty is not for internal small damage unless the screen completely dies." In this case I can't unscrew the laptop to kill the screen so I have to wait until the line expands the whole screen. It may be too late by that time because I have only a few days left for warranty as per Best Buy open box item warranty. It is either "FALSE advertise" or "SCAM". read more
