From the start, the installer was very disrespectful and rude, showing poor customer service skills that necessitated intervention from his supervisor. Geek Squad is a joke. After spending nearly $1,000 on an HP laptop, I talked to a Geek Squad guy who told me it's hard to transfer data from my current Dell laptop to new HP lapto. He said I'd have to buy a special cable at Best Buy to transfer the data. Wouldn't you think that if the sell that cable, the Geek Squad would have access to it? I tried calling the store manager, and after an extended wait on the phone, ended ap talking to a guy in the Philippines who never seemed to grasp my problem. I went to this store to get a new car stereo and take advantage of the free installation. Which added up to an extra 200$ for harnesses and such. Legitimate I found out. The store called the car stereo guy on his day off to help me out. Car stereo Carter installed my stereo and was such a good dude. I even came back and he showed me how to use the settings. I took my Gaming Desktop computer (iBuyPower) to get Windows 11 installed from Windows 10. The desktop had told me I needed to enable TPM2. The Geek squad person took the time to find the TPM2 an my ASUS Advanced Bios and enabled it allowing Windows 11 to be loaded at the store! No need to replace my desktop... I did replace my old SSD drive with a faster newer one. They kept my laptop and had it all done in a couple of days. Great work! read more

Very disappointed in Best Buy. We decided to come here to look at the TV's and other electronics. First impression we weren't impressed at all. A lot of empty shelves, busted TV's on display, and miscellaneous merchandise randomly over the store. The whole time we were here looking at the TV's no one ever asked if we needed help or acknowledged us. We were about the only customers in the store. I purchased a dash cam from a Toledo store about 3 weeks ago. When I went to have it installed at the Sandusky store (because Toledo doesn't have an installer). When I arrived the first day I was told that the wiring harness needed to be ordered, even though I asked when I purchased it if it was included. So I ordered that and waited another week and a half before they could get me in. When I returned, the installer boasted how he had been installing products for 20 years for Best Buy. I thought I was in good hands. He installed the front and rear-facing dash cam. He didn't show me how to use it or help me angle the cameras. When I was driving I realized that the camera out the back was facing into the air and filming clouds. When I stopped and tried to adjust it I found that it had been installed backwards filming up or into the back of the van. I called the 800 number because you cannot call a Best Buy store. They transferred me to the install department and I could leave a message about my problem. NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK!!! I rescheduled my installation over my phone to come back 5 days later. in the meantime, the front camera went out and would not come on. When I went back they looked and me like I did something wrong when it was clearly their installer who doesnt know how to do their job. They repaired it with much attitude and disrespect. I would think you but a $370 product with install you want it done correctly. Best Buy Corporate is unreachable and I would not suggest to go to this store. Horrible customer service. read more

Another install fail... I continue to give Best Buy the opportunity to deliver but unfortunately they do not. I have had 5 install fails and or over promises. Purchased a warranty that covers installs. Spent 40 min with the tech at the store detailing my past issues and how if they cannot deliver, to please not sell me the product. Showed him the house, shared the size of the house, the height of the ceiling.. all for nothing. Purchased the camera system 2 weeks + ago only for a tech to call the day before and inform me, "that he is by himself and (they) only blocked 3 hrs and from the looks of it as it is brick, we may not be able to install, would you still like for me to come out?" As we just reviewed the project. Of course I said yes only to be told, "no install possible without an additional $1600". Over sold causing me to cancel the travel and look for another provider. Just need to vent... Best Buy customer service STINKS!!!!! After trying to call them multiple times and being dumped each time, I finally got someone to answer. They were NO HELP. We bought a TV in February of this year and it no longer works. It went out last night. Best Buy will do nothing to fix this issue unless you bought THEIR extended warranty. This TV is still under the manufacturers warranty with Samsung. Rather than Best Buy helping to resolve our problem, we were faced with yet another call to Samsung. Samsung was VERY helpful and will be sending a service rep. out on Thursday. What happened to the days of the place you bought a product handling your problems????? Customer service today is pretty much non-existent! If you find a good company that will respond to your issues, stick with them. They are far and few between! This is by far the "best" Best Buy I have every shopped at. The store is very organized and I quickly find the item I am shopping for. The employees are very friendly and knowledgable, for this reason I always purchase all of my electronics from this store and always get the best price with their price match guarantee. Their service dept does a great job and their technicians have taken care of any needed repairs the first time. They even call before hand to let you know they are on their way. read more

My husband and I went to Best Buy tonight to buy a new computer. We roamed through the desktop computers for at least 15 minutes. No one asked us if we needed help. No one even spoke to us except the gentlemen who was at the front of the store when we came in. We saw several employees walking around but none bothered to make eye contact. This store is awful! I had a Zagg screen protector replacement that I took to be installed here on 1/15/17. On 1/22/17, the edges all the way around were loose. I will never take anything or buy anything from Best Buy again. I had purchased a computer from a store in another state 3 years ago, and it was giving me problems. Being a new resident to Sandusky I thought Best Buy would be a good store to take it to. I was wrong. While the person I dealt with initially was great, I got two phone calls the week following the drop off that made me upset. First they said I had a bad sector on a stick of RAM, then it became that they had tried to test my motherboard and it started smoking and subsequently it caught there equipment on fire. Which I seriously doubt is possible. They did refund my money but then acted like I should buy another Best Buy product because clearly what had happened was not their fault. I had paid 1300 for that thing, and I am pretty sure it was over priced. No I will go elsewhere from now on. read more

After dealing with an ongoing camera issue which I've taken to corporate, I had lost ALL faith in my local Best Buy until tonight. I needed a new phone because mine was so full my emails couldn't load anymore and it was four years old. We arrived around 8:11 p.m. The phone department was ridiculously busy, but we still were greeted by 2 salespersons within 2-5 minutes. Guy Geiger was busy but made sure to answer questions in between helping multiple customers at once, including some completely rude and ostentatious individuals who thought coming in at 9:50, and being rude to Guy was okay. The MOD Raul Gomez often made an appearance to make sure all was handled well for both the customers (us), and to support his team member. When those individuals left well after 9:00 our transaction still had some hiccups due to ridiculously slow & old computers. (The irony is somewhat amusing in general as an oxymoron, but I feel bad for the sales associates stuck using dinosaur technology to cash people out when modern phones can scan credit cards faster.) At one point a reboot of the computer needed to take place and Raul offered us something to drink and they both apologized profusely. They locked us in so we felt a bit safer and were able to carry on an actual conversation that was down to earth and professional. The computer was taking over 40 minutes and they tried everything to make it go faster. At one point Raul contacted the GM and they tried a few tricks. In the mean time Guy remembered I had said I potentially wanted to look at an ipad as well. He walked us over and explained things, our options, while Raul was working on the computer. By the time we walked back Raul had gotten special permission to get a new computer re-opened & the transaction was completed within a few minutes. They could have rushed us out at that point, but they took their time to make sure everything worked, the screen protectors were on, and even gave us a discount on our bag/case. To say that these two are an invaluable asset to the Best But Company would be an understatement. They both should be promoted, commended, given raises, effective immediately. It's because of their care, concern, and general work ethics that I'd actually walk back into that Best Buy again & not in an emergency situation. Not only did I get my phone, but I ended up with an ipad, cases, screens etc. Not because I felt obligated to buy from them or that they pushed it, but because they took the time to listen to my questions and make correct recommendations for what I needed and wanted. Their innate desire to please the customers, while being honest about products, as well as their ability to maintain professionalism and composer with inappropriate and "entitled" feeling other customers is something that is rare and hard to teach. I've been in that Best Buy man times and they hands down are the reasons I will give that store future business. I will be writing a letter to corporate as well, but wanted to make sure others knew they are component and caring staff there. There are MANY other team members from salespersons to management who could learn from those two. So if you go to Best Buy talk to Raul Gomez and Guy Geiger, you will not be disappointed. read more
