DO NOT MAKE A HUGE MISTAKE. Best Awnings not the Best in Cust Svce-Professionalism-Ethics. I met Felix at job site in March, where he quickly took 50% deposit. After approx 2 mos of calls/voice/text msgs, we met again May 16, in my office, to confirm canvas selection/color. A few weeks later they called to schedule job for Jun 12. Obviously, they were clear on canvas/color & material had been produced. I then learned the job had to be pushed until completion of a paint job at building (we handled façade 1st, done by Jun 23). Felix avoided me for days/weeks. He finally "realized" job can't be scheduled until I "select canvas/color" & wait 3 weeks for production! Needless to say I was shocked 2 hear this gross manipulation of the truth (aka lie). I reminded Felix I chose the color May 16, when we met at my office. He says "his notes" don't show any info. I text the colors again Jul 13. He made a strong verbal commitment to install by Jul 21. Said he would not let me down & for sure would install before starting a "big job" in So Pointe. I texted him Jul 16, (the "week of the install") asking for a start date...no reply. Again Mon 17..no reply. Again Wed 19. He finally tells me "I explained what my schedule is like this week, we are fabricating your cover, as soon as it is ready I will call you & schedule the installation". I reminded him he promised to be done by Jul 21. His reply: "please allow me to work properly...If you would like I will reimburse deposit, just please let me do my job". I texted again July 22 ..no reply. Again Jul 24 & asked to confirm if could install within 2 weeks. He replied "Thk u ..yes definitely, will be next week, I will confirm day by Fri thx again,". I texted Jul 25, and said I would wait until Jul 28 for a confirmed install date or request cancellation & refund..No reply. On Jul 28, I asked for an install date for the following week, as promised. His reply "Yes your installation will take place Thu @9am & again Fri @9am" (Aug 3 & 4). On Aug 2, I tried confirming job. He now will "update you shortly all is ready for install.. I will confirm schedule shortly". I asked to hear by 2pm that day... No reply. I texted again 5:36pm...No reply. I texted at 6:19PM requesting cancellation & refund ASAP. He replied immediately saying the canopy was fabricated & ready & they were "dispatching install tomorrow. I will try to arrange for equipment to be transported to site I will update you tmrw, your canvas is ready & is very expensive". On Aug 3, he is "2 days behind due to weather". I told him I was able to find a very reputable vendor that could produce the material & install me within days. On Aug 4 I asked for a final answer. He asked to "give me a chance to sort things out.." I requested a refund. He threaten "That is not possible & I will place a lien on that property immediately as I have over 1500 in canopy fir you do not refund & cooperate as I am in my lead time". He then called reissuing threat to place lien. I reminded him I had given him every opportunity to honor the contract & he had failed miserably, as he was too busy with the "big jobs" & I needed someone who would deliver. He then texted he was going to "be there this afternoon with the crew to make sure site is ready for tmrw...make sure the work area is clear for us". I reached out to the tenant in front unit & asked him to remove/clear all porch furniture (quite large/bulky/heavy), which he did that same day; he brought it inside his living/dining room. Felix then texted "we have to reschedule". He texted again he was "able to arrange, we have crew ready for tnrw". On Sat AM, he said "I am going to have to ask you to wait until we are done with the equipment @current site". He continued to bring up "alternative facts", that the material wasn't confirmed until Jul 13, as if I don't recall the May 16 meeting & a subsequent call from office for 12 Jun install. I replied to "consider this my last attempt to obtain a set install date sometime that day, with a JOB COMPLETION date of no later than 10 AUG". Veronica called to scheduled job for Aug 14. I said Aug 11 is the last day I would accept. On Fri Veronica said Mon install had been pushed again?!?! I advised her I would be seeking a full refund of my deposit. In the meantime, he caused so much aggravation to my poor tenant, who still has the entire porch furniture inside his small 1 bedroom unit, which is also getting in the way of both pest control & annual termite inspection scheduled for this week. Thank goodness the nightmare is finally over! I'm in contact with a very reputable new vendor, which guaranteed me a speedy install, backed up by several reputable referrals, including the attorney firm for which my daughter works in Ft. Lauderdale. I don't like negative reviews, but if I can avoid someone go through half the aggravation I was subjected to by "Best Awnings", it's worth it! Only regret: not able to give them 0 stars! read more
