I order a triple-shot flat white (always) which they make impeccably & a savoury or sweet treat. They have a few tables inside or outside if you prefer. Staff are friendly and happy, which completes the experience. They forgot about my muffin, that is why I gave them a 4 not a 5! The food is unusually fresh tasting and a step above the vast majority of restaurant food. We eat out a lot at great restaurants, but at the moment there's nowhere else with the quality and value anywhere near that at Giusto. There are plenty of vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options while also providing a fabulous 300gm scotch fillet for a mere $30. Most mains are in the $22-$28 range. The menu has options for everyone, and changes a little each time you go so there's always old favourites and interesting new creations. The wine list is not large, but it's perfectly formed and very good value. Try the vegetarian platter as a starter for 4. It's fabulous, even for carnivores. We have tried the vegetarian, chicken, steak and fresh fish mains, and can recommend them all. The waitress we had on both visits was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in that making decisions can be tough with so many good choices. Go there and enjoy.

Even the dessert menu has a healthy twist to it, with a modern take on delicious traditional sweets, without the processed rubbish. Chiasso Coffee Roasters is a local family-owned and run business that supplies much of Auckland cafes their espresso beans. The brick facade and courtyard give this little building a European garden-apartment feel and the little retail space and barista bar combines old-world Italian vintage pots with the most modern coffee and tea-making equipment out. The service is extremely friendly and consistent, and did I mention the coffee is amazing? My only gripe is that they're not open early enough (8am) or on Sundays! Some people still get a sleep-in I guess.
