Turning a brief inconvenience into a public takedown doesn't make the business look bad -- it highlights how unforgiving and unrealistic some customers have become. I come in once or twice a year, usually before a beach type vacation to get my back waxed. They have always had someone at the front desk when I walk in, but not this last visit. Let me mentioned before getting into it, the place is always clean, the entrance, Hallway and wax rooms. The wax service is always fast, professional and as relaxing as it can be getting waxed. I never had a scheduling problem until now either. This last experience was not good. I arrived at 1030 my scheduled time, but no one was at the front desk, but I could hear someone talking on the phone in the room behind the desk. I waited 5 minutes figuring they would come out, but no, so I start to ask if anyone here? No response for 2-3 min, so I asked again, then a lady with black and purple hair comes out of the room and say someone will be right with me and turns back around into the room to continue to talk on the phone, as if I was bothering her at work!! Then a few minutes later, another person comes out from down the hall (I think she was actually with a client) and asked if I have been helped, I said no and told her my appointment was at 1030, she tells me the appointment was at 1040 (this was at 1042, already past my apparently rescheduled appointment) and said someone will be with me shortly. Then the other lady that was talking on the phone comes out from the room behind the desks. I sat there about 5 more mins until my wax person arrives, say sorry for being late, and gets ready (it appears they changed the appointment because the wax person was running late), they never told me they changed the appointment time (no text like all the other notifications, which I like from this place). The appointment was never changed on the website, only locally, maybe they just lied for her, and told me 10:40. Oh and no one ever came out of the room behind the desk after the phone call lady, while I was waiting for my room to be ready. It was clearly a personal call at work and she didn't want to be bothered at work. At the end, I still tipped, against my better judgement, a lower 10% rather that the usually 20%. The wax person was late, but apologized. I think I will return because up until this time it has been great, but not sure.

Ok, this is totally going to ruin my hippie cred... but Alicia merits a good review. I don't get…read moremani-pedis or facials... I don't even get my hair cut or shave my pits... But I do like to have a Brazilian wax. I have only gotten them a handful of times in the past because I have always found the waxing experience uncomfortable. Both in terms of physical discomfort and social discomfort (awkwardness). I don't like salons - the smell of burnt hair and "product", the prissy people (no offense prissy people), too much happening on the other side of the curtain while someone's working on your private bits. So I was pleased to find Alicia's set up in a little collection of offices that has various health and beauty professionals renting space. Both times I've gone she was there waiting for me at the shared front desk and brought me right back to a private little office. She's very personable and made me feel at ease from the start even though, as I said, I've found this kind of thing really awkward in the past. She's conversational but NOT in the blah blah blah way of many a dental assistant (no offense dental assistants) but asks polite non-intrusive questions about you and listens to your answers. It made the time go much faster and allowed me to relax. She uses a hard blue wax that is SO much less painful than those damn cloth strips. I hardly had a rash or redness afterwards the first time and didn't at all the second time I went. She's very thorough and makes sure you're happy with how it turns out. So I highly recommend this place for those who are a little shy and I am sure she's great if baring your naughty bits to people is no big deal for you as well. No offense. Seriously, I know that sounds like an insult but I don't mean it that way.
