We bought our most recent car here and the experience was pretty good. The sales staff are not too…read morepushy and gave us plenty of options for both old and new cars. We also had our previous car serviced here and that went exactly how you'd expect too.
Went to service a honda jazz for transmission and asked to diagnose a problem with the car…read morestuttering/jerking. I suspected it was either the spark plugs or coil packs so i just wanted them to put the car through diagnostic test which one is faulty so i could save some money and not buy all 4. What did they do? They replaced all spark plugs and said "it's fixed". I picked up the car and the problem was still there. Called them back and said it's still not working and was told "oh yea then must be the coil packs!" No shit sherlock that's what i said in the beginning... i simply wanted a computer diagnostic test to show any error codes cause i already knew it was either the coilpack/sparkplugs. So they unnecessarily replaced ALL 4 sparkplugs to pocket cash without even putting the car through a diagnostic test. What a ripoff. So he suggested, now, to hook it up to machine to test for faults and wants to charge for that. Well if they did that in the beginning then i wouldn't be needing to pay for 4 sparksplugs at 60,000km (with an expected life of 150,000km). So anyone with a honda jazz experiencing stuttering/jerkiness you can easily do this yourself. In retrospect i should have just bought one coil pack and take turns one-by-one until the problem was fixed. It's just that i thought having it checked with a computer would have been a lot easier,... that's what i thought until i wasted money with these crooks. Be wary of this scrupulous dealership as they're going to laugh you all the way to the bank.

Buyers beware. Our new car front Barry Bourke suffered major failures under Australian Consumer Law…read morewhere the engine kept overheating and became damaged due to the badly engineered cooling system that kept failing. Barry Bourke didn't resolve the problems. We were obliged to take the matter to court. The court decided that the car wasn't fit for purpose and it didn't do what it was supposed to do and we were awarded compensation. Along every step of the way Barry Bourke stonewalled a fair process. We contacted the Indian dealer principal of Barry Bourke, who didn't have the courtesy to reply to us. Consumers take care. Don't accept this unacceptable behavior.

Once we decided to go with Holden we went back to where my partner has bought his car prior - & I'm so glad we did :) Our sales lady was Sarah Scott & I highly recommend going with her!! She is just a doll, very friendly & no pressure. We got a Great new car that suits all our needs & we feel that we walked away with a fair deal. My partner feels he got a good deal for his trade-in & we both were comfortable with the end price of our new vehicle. Best of all, I feel I have a great sense of car buying in Australia because Sarah answered every one of my questions!! Poor Girl :) So, if you are in the market for a Holden definitely go see Sarah at Barry Bourke Holden - even if you have to drive a bit to get there it will be worth it. Oh, and skip a trip a to Holden in Vermont - they were terrible! They have zero customer service & why I understand car dealership are in the business to make money - they didn't even try to work with us. :( Definitely their loss as we were in the market for a Holden.
