Karla the chef also checked on us because the vegan desserts are made different and wanted to make sure the flavor and consistency was spot on. And Reak was great with helping us get around the city and telling where to go. The room was spectacular with floor to ceiling windows. It did get hot if the windows were left open during the day so we had to remember that. But great view of the city and would definitely recommend staying here again. I had their Barramundi fish, which was the best on this trip. My wife had Riscotto. Of course, we had plenty of appetizers, liquors, and a chocolate and a Tiramisu dessert. All was very good. Crowne Promenade is a very good hotel. The only thing we found was that our room, for whatever reason, does NOT have a phone charging cable. We even talked to the manager, who confirmed, and said our own choices were to buy or rent one. That's no help. You'd think that a phone charging cable would be standard at a hotel like this. It's the same ole, same ole breakfast that hotels serve - Boring! Having said this, we did encounter a situation that was unique and it had never occurred to us before. My wife left her reading glasses in the room - on the day that we flew from Melbourne to New Zealand! We had our tour guide, 'C'. interface and try to have the glasses sent back to our home in the States, figuring that it would be chaotic to try and have it sent to one of our hotels in NZ. I'm only reporting what I was told by 'C'. I don't know what the delay was but 'C' said the hotel "would look into it." It took 24 hours before we got a response, which I thought "Why does it take that long to 'look into it'"? Anyway, there might be some mixup somewhere, as 'C' said it would cost me $29 (AUS) to have it shipped. I understand that part of it, and thought that this is very reasonable, considering it needs to be packaged so it doesn't break during transit. It would be another 8 days before we got home. After we got home, it took almost another week for the glasses to arrive - and what was strange: There's an Import tax of $25 (US) on it! HUH? It was NOT made in Australia, nor did I buy it there, so ... why is there an Import Tax?? I was told by 'C' - that's the way Australia is and even he is confused by some of the rules sometimes. In either case, we're glad that Crown Promenade got the glasses to us, very nicely packaged protectively in a plastic case that was enclosed in quite a bit of bubble=wrap. WHEW! Thank You!

There was 5 of us and after making our way out of the cockpit and into space we used our 'clues' when we got stuck. We got so close but didnt quite make it out in the 45 minute time limit (goes faster than you think). We were addicted so did the prison room and CSI room as well! We just made it out of the other two and if it wasnt dinner time we would have tried the other two rooms they had there. A good excuse to come back next time! A fantastic new entertainment attraction in Melbourne and these guys have done it well. HIGHLY recommend this place

When the lady poured the drink it looked a little suss, but okay, off I trot to present it to bro, for him to take a sip and advise there's no way it was what was ordered. "I've never had a Scotch and Dry that either looked this colour (very hazy - like a brown fog) or tasted like this. It's undrinkable!" Okay, I trot back to the lady who poured the drink asking whether she used dry ginger, was the Scotch okay etc. To which she replied - yep, it was perfect. Back to the table and my brother took another sip and said he simply couldn't drink it. The taste was really bad. So once again I took it back to the lady advising that it was undrinkable. I didn't ask for a replacement, a refund, nothing, rather I left it for her to come back with a response (note that my brother took 2 very small sips, hence it was still almost full), and she did respond with "Okay". And walked off. That was the end of the conversation. I left the drink on the bar and was not approached whatsoever after this. Sorry, but this simply isn't good enough. Please note that of the roughly 500 'Bro' nights at which my brother always orders a Scotch and dry, we've never even had to think about taking his Scotch back to the bar!
