Wholesome Family Fun in a True "Up North" Setting!…read more Our extended family has fallen in love with this resort. It's the perfect spot for a quintessential Minnesota lake cabin experience, thoughtfully designed to bring large families and groups together while enjoying everything the lake has to offer. Every year, they continue to make small upgrades that improve the experience, which keeps us coming back. The beach area is fantastic - soft sand, no steep drop-offs, and tons of water toys for all ages. Our toddlers loved playing with the sand toys, our smaller kids couldn't get enough of the lily pad and water trampoline, and the teens had a blast paddle boarding and riding water bikes. Huge bonus: life jackets are available for kids as young as two! The cabins have that cozy, knotty pine charm and - since 2024 - each one now has its own strong WiFi. But what we love most is that there are no TVs, which means more family time, less screen time, and memories made together. Booking was super easy thanks to the resort's online availability search. Communication was excellent - I received updates via email and text - and online check-in made arrival day a breeze. Our cabin was even ready well before the 4 PM check-in time. If you're looking for a place where families can truly connect and enjoy the best of Minnesota lake life, this resort is a gem!

The owners are great - we spent a lot of time hanging out in the store and enjoying free popcorn and good company. They also have cute and friendly dogs which is always a plus! Overall, a great experience - will definitely be returning!

Seriously, this doesn't get any better. Our first year here was under the new owners, but I…read moreunderstand that the previous owners were pretty good also. These owners are super nice people and beyond fair in their dealings. Free K-cup coffee and popcorn in the office, they actually bring popcorn to you most evenings as you sit around the campfire. Free donuts, juice, and coffee by the lake your first morning there. A fun "holey-board" tourney is a highlight. The only complaints about this place I have ever heard are by entitled folks who don't believe in parking boat trailers in the provided parking area and are otherwise rude rule-breakers in general! Rules are there to protect both the owner and you. The owners are NOT sticklers and will work with you. We rented a window A/C and they didn't charge us because it ended up being a cool week and we only ran it a couple days. The grounds are well-maintained. The driveway and area around the office are paved, so my granddaughter had a blast riding her scooter. Cabins are quite nice, spacious, and comfortable with nice kitchens... no slackers here. Newer cabins are VERY nice, and some have central air. Volleyball, playground, and a very large lawn for games. They have boats available, including pontoons. There are several docks and a swimming beach with lots of water toys. The lake isn't really big, so that means you don't wake up in the morning to jet-skis! Very quiet place, and they even have nesting bald eagles. Very close to Nevis and a nice drive to Park Rapids for shopping or to Walker for shopping and the casino. This is infinitely better than our previous resort home, both in ownership and in overall amenities.

I tried to heat up some leftover pizza in the oven, smoke came out and smoke detectors went off. I found the racks had cleaner that had not been rinsed off; and the racks were still covered with grease that I couldn't rinse off. I mentioned the mouse droppings when leaving and was told the cabin is 90 years old and mice get in, and was told I should of taken the batteries out of the smoke detector if that bothered me. There is no internet or TV service. We left a day early because we couldn't handle another uncomfortable day. The owners were unconcerned as you can see by their responses and actions. If you don't mind mouse droppings; dirt and uncomfortable bed, this place is for you.
