He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of during an extremely stressful situation. Adam arrived on Friday within hours of the previous plumber leaving my home in worse condition than before. He immediately understood the scope of the job and how messy it could become. He explained that he could do the work right then, but it would be better to clear the area and have him return the next day so the job could be done properly. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to rush through another appointment. We prepped the area that evening, and he came back the following day as promised. He worked carefully and systematically to avoid making a mess, resolved the clog, and recommended a product to help break down the sludge in our old pipes. I purchased it and followed his instructions to run plenty of hot water. Unfortunately, when I did that, water began dripping from my kitchen ceiling. It turned out the first plumber had damaged the drain pipe with their snake, creating an even bigger problem. I broke open part of the ceiling and contacted my insurance company, who reached out to Adam again. He called me within minutes to assess the situation and scheduled a return visit for Monday morning. Even though he does not work on Sundays, he still communicated with me that day as I opened more of the ceiling to locate the leak. Adam arrived first thing Monday morning with another plumber, Steve. They cut out the damaged section of pipe and repaired the leak quickly and professionally. I am incredibly grateful for how responsive, thorough, and considerate Adam was throughout this entire ordeal. He truly made a very stressful situation more manageable. I highly recommend Adam at Brooks Plumbing and Heating. His professionalism, communication, and genuine care for his customers set him apart.

It was the main pipe that led to the street. Two other "professional" plumbers came out who I shall not name. The first one from Edison came out and stated that he did not have the proper equipment to fix the pipe. I could tell immediately that he did not want to do the job anyway. The second plumber from Hackensack sent someone to look at what needed to be done. He seemed promising, but that eventually led nowhere. I was promised a call back by him the following week. I never received a call back and when I did call the company and leave messages, those messages were never returned. I'm not begging anyone to do anything for me when there are many other qualified plumbers. I was truly disgusted with both of these "supposed to be professional" plumbing companies. Adam was contacted and responded immediately. He came to my house with Steven on a Saturday to look over everything and then came back on Monday to complete the job. It took a few hours to complete such a heavy job and the cleanup provided was spectacular. Both Adam and Steven were very professional and personable. We even had quite a few good laughs. If I ever have any plumbing problems again, Brooks Plumbing and Heating (Bloomfield, NJ) will be the first team called. I just referred them to a friend of mine a few minutes ago. They quoted me 1600 dollars... that was only to remove the old sump (pumps, plural) and replace it with a new one. I wasnt sure if the electrical was to blame or the sump pump so I just contracted with them...thinking they will take care of it. They originally said how it would take probably 8 hours. The day the gentleman showed up to do the work, he was timely and polite. Everything started out great. But then he was done in about 2 hours... (????) so i figured, no problem, at least I wont have to worry about it again... (queue up the foreshadowing...as this was NOT the last time I would have to deal with it). Within a month or 2 I went down to the basement/crawlspace area to add salt to the water softener, and sure enough, there was standing water...(What the heck??) So I called All Clear.... They promptly showed up.. it was even the same guy! He stuck his hand in the mucky/murky water and stirred it around and got it working again.. and told me ..."anytime this happens you can just do this" (UHHH NO THANK YOU SIR, I WILL NOT BE STICKING MY HAND IN GROSS WATER TO FEEL FOR SOMETHING TO TRIGGER THE SUMP PUMP) I told him im not sticking my hand in that so ...what do i just ...poke it with a stick? He said, yeah just do that. So I ultimately paid 1600 dollars for a sump pump replacement that took 2 hours that I have to go and poke with a stick on occasion. How do I feel about this..? Not good, to be honest. I have never paid that much per hour for plumbing work..(well, honestly I paid less for plumbing work from another company that just ended up getting ripped out and to have them text and threaten me)... so I guess at least the plumbing work stayed put and works...90% of the time... but I cannot say it was a good value. I kind of figured that for that amount of money (per hour) I would have gotten a better, more lasting outcome.
