Took my truck in for an oil leak 3 different times.....each time they said it was fixed ($10 k worth of "fixes" in total). After this last appointment, drove my truck 30 miles after picking it up from the dealership and the engine blew up as it threw a rod through the motor. Happened as a result of no oil being in the motor. Again...30 miles after picking it up! Service manager denied responsibility.....owner took no responsibility and offered no assistance. Now my $18k truck is worth nothing unless I want to pay $16k to have the motor replaced.....what a joke! Never do business with Berthod......they are horrible! read more

I brought in my Jeep for a number of repairs, one of which was to replace a part for the rear view mirror. When installing the part, the glass cracked from the inside exactly where they replaced the part. The GM refused to cover the costs to replace the glass. He denied it was their fault. However, the glass repair shop said it was definitely caused from improperly installing the rear view mirror piece, as they see that type of break often. read more

I recently bought a car (cash) from Berthod Motors in what was probably their easiest sale of the decade. They filed the title papers in the wrong county, refused to file the title papers in the correct county unless I signed a new contract and coughed up more $$. I was told I had the ability to read the contract before signing and correct their mistake for them. I don't mind paying my taxes but their mixture of ineptness and arrogance is breathtaking. Well I should have listened to the public when It came to Jeeps. I was so happy when I got my Blue 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLU. That quickly changed when I started to have clutch issues. The clutch was intermittantly sticking in the down position when pushed down all the way. The issue was happening during covid so I waited until Aug 2021 when things started to get better. I took it in to Berthod Motors where I purchased the vehicle. The issue was so intermittant that they couldnt duplicate the issue but blamed it on a leaky hose. Im a mechanic myself and would have noticed a leaky hose. A few days after picking up the Jeep the issue continued to happen. I called Berthod and the person on the phone informed me that the issue was so intermittant that i should wait until it happened more often so they can diagnose the issue better. There was nothing else they could do at that point. So I waited where issue had gotten so bad that it started becoming a safety issue. I took it back to Berthod where I was able to show them the pedal on the floor. The got back to me on the same day I turned in the vehicle. At that point they said that the issue was and I quote "Clutch Disc and pressure springs excessively worn". So how could they diagnose that this time but not the first time I brought it to them? The service manager Jason Pidcock informed me that it was now out of warranty and he couldnt fix it as so. It was going to cost $2000+ to get the clutch repaired. It was Berthod that told me to wait until it happened more often. He instructed me to call Jeep Customer Service to see if they could help. I pleaded my case and was elated that the tech informed me that they would cover the repair under "Good will". After a few days, no one called to inform me of the next steps. I sent an email over to Charlie Taylor to give him the case number for the repair. I then got an email from Jason the next day that said the following: Hello Mr. Bartnick, (He didnt even spell my last name right)) I know that you called yesterday and left a message stating that Stellantis was going to cover your clutch assembly under "good will". Before calling you back or sending this email, I wanted to have a better response from Stellantis Customer Assistance. I have one email from Stellantis Customer Assistance on Friday stating that they are NOT covering the clutch assembly. I then reached out to that person and told her about your voicemail to me yesterday. This person at Customer Assistance again stated that they are not covering the clutch assembly. Specifically stating, "The customer is not having it replaced under goodwill. It's a 12/12 warranty item/wear and tear [part]". The 12/12 means that within the first year, (12months) or 12K miles it would have been considered for replacement. I also reached out to my local Denver Area Manager from Stellantis and she has confirmed that the clutch does not fall under good will criteria. I have attached an estimate for the repairs should you want to go forward with the repairs. I would have to put you on the schedule for this repair since it's an 8-hour job. We are looking at the last week on November right now on parts and scheduling availability. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. In June I went jeep hunting. I went to Berthod Motors and was welcomed by aan named Brandon. He helped me find the jeep of my dreams. Brandon and his superior's were very patient with me. I got to drive my jeep off the lot at the end of August.. Being a used jeep and just being a jeep I purchased the extended warranty. Come November I had to my warranty. At this time again Brandun was there for me 100%. Kason the man in charge of the service department was also very professional and helpful. While fixing my jeep Jason came to realize I had another issue that needed to be repaired. It was very expensive. I at that time talked to Brandon expressing my stress over this situation. Trying to figure out how I could get this repair done and afford it. The very next day I received a call from Jason. He stated they ( Alex, Brandun and himself ) talked about this. I was hoping for a payment plan. Kason said his boss Alex stated that Berthod Motors would cover the cost of this repair. This brought me to tears. I was sooo thankful. I wanted to share this entire experience with anyone who would read this. In my entire life I have never had such exceptional service from a car dealership. They are stupendous. I have to give the biggest shoutout to Jason and Celeste from the service department. Patience is a virtue when it comes to customer service, and the hoops these two jumped through for me required a TON of it. I have had the normal issues, maintenance done on my car, but these two helped with with an issue that they could have dropped, with no hard feelings, as it was not their problem to solve. Due to my service agreement having my middle name, versus my first, my policy was canceled. I knew this was a mistake, but couldn't get the company to hear me out. Jason and Celeste took the time to call the contract company, and deal with the months it took to rectify the situation, while not forcing me to pay out of pocket until we could figure out a solution. They did this to save ME the money the contract should and ultimately covered, not for any benefit they themselves received. Through all of this, they have been there for all of my service needs as well, helping me with even the most minor fixes. Worst experience ever on the service and parts. I bought 2 cars from this dealership now which I won't ever again. Sales department is fine. The after sale services and parts is horrible. I need to order a part for my truck and I went there 3 times, the guy works at the service department tell me to order it by myself on Mopar.com. After I showed him that I can't find the part on Mopar.com. He gave me an number to call. I called the Mopar customer service told me they don't order parts with that phone number. I purchased a Jeep a year ago, though I did ask if there were any issues and was told no, there were several that came up within the first months. I asked if it was normal... they said yes. Then the next issue happened and another and they still wrote it off as not related. Flash forward to this last summer when I was told a 3rd party does all of their vehicle assessments for used cars and they don't even look at them. So they backed my car off of someone else's word? Yes, I bring my Jeep to another service department and the issues claimed at Berthod were completely different and I was told this other dealership deals with the same thing all of the time. So basically my car had issues since day one, all related and then I even went in expressing this, worked on trading out for days and Sara in sales lead me on saying I'll get your out of this don't worry, and then said it wasn't worth it for me to get out of my car with repeated issues due to rates changing for me. I expressed anything reliable is better than this. I was sold a warranty that didn't have explanation to it that somehow has a deductible... I didn't know about. All around this is not just my opinion several friends have had this issue and they would ever buy/service here again due to the same issues I experienced with the lack of response, calling for days and then having to just drive there to get an appointment. Poor repair work as well. And get this the same guy who told me my car came back issue free's son ironically works in the service department. For that month I drove close to home When I got to my scheduled appointment they said they would order the part and schedule another appointment 2 months out when they received it. Horrible horrible customer service by Rita and Savannah in the service department. Our car was being towed to this location due to a engine malfunction that was previously replaced. Savannah placed me on hold over and over again and kept referring to me as sweetie. She couldn't ensure our car would get fixed even though we are 3 hours from home. Rita was no better and wasn't even listening to what I was asking. No one offered any additional help or service to even direct us to a rental. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Up until today I have had great experiences with berthod. I've only had oil changes done but always in and out quickly and affordably (With an appointment). Today I had an oil change and upon arriving home (4 minutes from the dealership) I opened my hood to check everything over and noticed they had left my engine air intake filter unattached and failed to mention to me how amazingly filthy it was. They reportedly performed an all around inspection and found "nothing wrong" and sent me on my way. Surely someone should have noticed the air intake completely hanging off??? We were headed to Denver for an important event...birthday party for our granddaughter and had a problem just past Glenwood Springs so we turned around and headed back to Berthod Motors. A Thursday afternoon with every light on the dashboard lit, 4 wheel drive, ABS everything flashing. Jason was so helpful for us. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Berthod warrants one. I had been looking for a used car for a few months (Nissan Xterra) and one popped up at Berthod. I contacted them at 11pm, got a reply first thing in the morning and was put in touch with Charlie in the sales dept. For the next couple hours we texted and chatted while he kindly and diligently sent me a bunch of pics from his phone and answered my many questions. After being confident that I wanted this truck and putting down a deposit to hold the vehicle, I booked a flight from LA to Grand Junction. They had someone come pick me up (Carole, who was also very nice) and drive me to the dealership which is 1.5 hour drive each way. Upon arrival, I met Charlie and he quickly showed me the truck, gave me the keys and told me to take my time checking everything out and the best place to go for a test drive. After about an hour with the truck, I came back and was ready to pull the trigger. While waiting on the finance guy, they even brought me a chocolate shake! After a couple hours at the dealership, I drove the 850 miles back home with zero issues. Charlie even texted a couple times asking how the trip back was going. I can only tell you my own personal experience, but I can't imagine buying a used car from a dealership going any better than it did with Berthod! read more

For a couple of years now every time I've had a problem and needed a warranty issue covered they are always booked out at least a month. That means I've had no vehicle for a month or more! This is the worst dealer service department I ever walked into!!! So I bought a brand new gmc 3500 AT4 in Salt Lake City and I was on my way back to Pennsylvania when several engine codes popped up on the display and put my truck in limp mode. Onstar said Berthod Motors in Glennwood springs. Upon arriving I explained my situation and how I was passing through with meetings scheduled for the next morning near Craig Colorado. The assistant service manager told me they were booked at least a week out and since I did not buy the truck from them they would not go out of their way to assist. I could not even get them to connect a diagnostic tool to trouble shoot. I then asked to borrow a wrench to disconnect my batteries to possibly reset the computer. I was told they could not loan me a tool because they did Not know me and I may steal the wrench. I also asked about a rental car and I was told to contact the dealer in Salt Lake City who I purchased the truck from. I'd like to point out this was an 85,000 dollar truck and they were not willing to help. Since my experience early today I came across several people who had similar experiences with this dealer. This is some of the WORST service I have ever received anywhere. I have been dealing with Berthod service department for nearly a decade and have yet to have one reasonable experience there. I recently purchased a Jeep from Berthod and was apprehensive exclusively because I know that I have had a miserable time with the service department. I was tempted to buy a Toyota because their service department in Glenwood is one of the best. If I could do it over I would have because I would not wish the Berthod service department on anyone. I received free oil changes with the car and would not be able to come in for one month to get the oil changed. Twice it has taken them one month to fix my car. Not happy with service department as of now. I have a top of the line GMC Acadia that went in for warranty work. I was belittled by Don in service. I was told that there was no problem when in fact I then spent over 45 minutes with him at time of pick up for him to discover that indeed the problem did exist! In addition I was told I would be charged 2 hours labor for my car to be test driven when the vehicle has less than 36,000 miles and is still under FULL warranty.
