I played a gig here recently and found that although it wasn't necessarily the best place to play a gig, the bar itself is fantastic.
With the stage situated in the corner, the music seems more of an afterthought or bonus than it is the venue's lifeblood. This is fine, as the elements I enjoyed most were the food and drink on offer.
With a range of inexpensive, yet gourmet pizzas, and other bar snacks and meals cooked up by the vibrant kitchen, Bertha Browns have created a place you can eat good food, drink good beer, and get together with friends in a relaxed environment.
Another fantastic element is the New York Industrial Loft vibe here, brick walls, hanging lights and comfy booths make this the kind of place you wish was your house.
The staff were great too, and with the owners the ones serving up the beers themselves, they're always up for a yak and a recommendation on what to try next when it comes to the fantastic range of beers on tap. read more
