Bay Farm Montessori Academy served my children well for the 8 years they attended (before the…read moreMiddle School was added on). The teachers at all levels are nurturing while allowing each child to individually (at their own pace) reach and/or exceed their potential. Especially notable is the arts program and the extended theater program which allows children to perform in plays providing them the confidence to speak in public. The enrichment classes allow preschoolers to practice being on stage, elementary students to join various sports activities, and kindergartners through middle schoolers to join larger productions (such as Annie and Seussical). My children have graduated college, but still fondly remember their Bay Farm experiences.

However,…read moreon the very last day of my second child's preschool I had an extremely unpleasant interaction with the director that has overshadowed any good experiences I had at Steeple school. She spoke to me in such an unkind way that I will never forget when I look back on my children's preschool years.

The Phoenix School was life-changing for my son. He had really struggled at his old school, and had…read morebegun to internalize negative messages about himself. But once he started at the Phoenix School, things turned around. He came home after the first day and said, "It's like the teachers aren't even teachers--they're just people!" The caring relationship with his teachers, the community at the school, the way his teachers push him to do more than he thought he could and support him as he learns to push himself has been amazing. He loves school now and is thriving academically, socially, and emotionally. The way they integrate learning across all their activities is special. Students learn all the academic skills throughout all their activities, along with specialized practice in, say, math or writing, especially as they get older. They also use the community at large as their classroom with frequent out-of-the-classroom learning experiences that engage students far more than anything I've seen at any other school. Teachers support students as they produce high-quality work, with autonomy and ownership over their own learning. Teachers are among the most dedicated professional educators I've ever met. They work hard to create a community of students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members dedicated to the well-being and education of students as complete people. It's not possible for me to say enough good things about this school.

The Brophy Elementary school is a wonderful learning environment for kids!…read more This school has an amazing culture. The new principal, Mr. Rothwell, staff and teachers are dedicated caring passionate people. They do go the extra mile to foster a warm, loving, safe environment for the kids to grow, learn and develop in. We moved here and didn't know a lot about the schools. The guidance counselor, Mr. Hintz, warmly greeted us and gave us a tour and answered our questions when we were going through the school choice process. The enthusiasm around the school is contagious. Typically a word you don't want to hear about when it comes to schools. However you, your child, and your family are bound to catch it. Parents are friendly and welcoming, whether they are part of the PTO or just coming and going to and from the school. There is plenty of room with large play yards and play structures. Ample parking and a very safe drop off and pick up process. Pleasant street can be a bit busy so drive with care during school hours. Check in at the office and your bound to find more friendly faces willing to help you out. Ms. Silverman is incredible and keeps things pulled together and moving smoothly. If you need help or have questions the health educator, Ms. Kinsella, and nurse, Ms. Pratt, are also ready and willing to step in and put your child at ease. Mr. Wisneski is an outstanding person who does not only teach but brings fun, I mean fun, into the class every day. Every person I spoke to before the beginning of the year had so many wonderful things to say that it helped put my mind at ease. Given our short time at this school I don't know each and every teacher. However, they all work together for the kids and fold them all in. Everyone at Brophy has helped to make the transition smooth, fun, and easy. How can you not learn when you are having fun and excited to be there? So the down fall, if there is one, is the kids grow up and move on.

My kids can't pick a favorite teacher because they've loved them all. My kids have grown tremendously both socially and academically. We've made lasting friendships and the only thing I regret is that in a few years my kids will no longer be at Brophy --when they move on to middle school.

Everything good we've heard about Milton Academy seems to be true so far in our first year…read more Aside from their academic reputation, it's also apparent that Milton focuses heavily on developing community citizens. They engage students by encouraging volunteer time during school hours, and also parents by allowing them to interact to help students in various ways. The curriculum allows students to take lessons in chess and Chinese even beginning in Kindergarten. There is a curriculum plan for the year even in K -- but they fold teaching into creative ways of learning, and the students seem to love being here. The campus is expansive and impressive, but also inviting and playful. There's always a good positive vibe and energy around campus. I especially like how open and inviting the Head of School and leadership are to questions and feedback. They openly encourage parents to inquire and provide input so they can continue improving.

This is her first year here and nobody likes her. If your reading this just know you've made mine and many other students'days worse. Excluding that; Im so sorry to the other teachers that are receiving this bad review, I'm sorry, olol is a amazing school and shaped my life, made me learn prayer, because before olol I wasn't very Catholic, or was my mom, but after that school, it helped me and my mom with our faith. I will say this again, I know that one teacher is making give such a bad review, please listen to me, I will never give this type of review if it weren't cause of her

I love how cozy it is, everyone knew each others name and I made many good friends here. "Small school, big heart" describes Our Lady of Lourdes perfectly. I loved the morning prayers and walking the preschoolers (prayer buddies) to mass. I also loved the gardening club. I'll never forget my experience at Our Lady of Lourdes. It's a wonderful school and I would recommend anyone to send their child(ren) here. We need to help keep our local Catholic schools going!!
