My mother called me, late on a Thursday night, and asked me to get flowers for the funeral of a relative, Saturday at 1 PM. This led me to a flurry of guilty indecision. I looked at a number of florists' websites, but nothing seemed quite right. Worse, the mother of the deceased is one of my favorite people, but as adults we haven't seen much of each other (mostly at funerals!), and I had never met the young man (well, MUCH younger than I am, anyway.) I reached the proprietor by phone at 11:30 AM Saturday; he agreed to provide a suitable floral arrangement for me to pick up. Very pleasantly and personably, he provided an attractive, appropriate arrangement at the agreed-upon time and price. He provided a (biodegradable) vase and a large cardboard box to keep it upright as I drove. At the funeral location in Sandy, I managed to lock my keys in my car. I sneaked the flowers in next to the guestbook about 1:15, found a seat at the back of the chapel, and listened to the rest of the service. My young relative was clearly much-loved and will be greatly missed by friends and family; I'm sorry I never met him. I began this review after the service, while waiting to talk to my mother and cousin, then spent the rest of the afternoon figuring out who to call for assistance. It turned out I wasn't paid-up for AAA after all. I didn't get back to this review for almost a month, so I can't really describe the esthetics of the arrangement. I could kick myself for not taking a photo. But my mother was pleased! read more

I googled the nearest flower shop and came upon Berrett's. I've never been there before and decided to give them a try. I went in there not knowing what I wanted just that I wanted something for our anniversary. I let the woman know that helped me that is was for our anniversary and that I wanted to spend about $50. She asked if it was ok for her to just put something together and I said yes. She came out with the flowers and I was pleasantly surprised. They were great and went over really well for a gift. We are extremely pleased with our experience with Barrett's Blossoms. They did the majority of the flower arrangements for my mother in laws funeral. When we first walked into their shop, we were turned over to who I'm assuming is the owner. A very sweet man. He sat with us for about an hour helping us pick the perfect arrangements. He spray painted flowers to get us the perfect colors we were looking for and went over many different flowers with us. He had us in tears by the time we left. He genuinely cared about us. His quote was "I can't make your day any easier, but I can try to make it a little more pleasant." The viewing was Sunday evening and they were the first to deliver. We came here after a good review from a family member. She had simple flowers for her wedding and loved their work. My wedding flowers were a little more exotic than just roses, and the flowers weren't really what I wanted. They changed the flowers for my bridal portraits because they didn't have the ones I wanted, and we didn't know if we were going to have the right ones until right before the wedding. Thankfully, they did get the flowers I wanted but the arrangements still didn't really fit my vision, despite all the picture samples I showed them. They were nice enough but weren't as friendly as I would have liked. Made me feel like I was an inconvenience because of the flowers I wanted for my wedding. They're good for simple arrangements, but for more unique flowers, you're probably better off someplace else. read more

I have used Berrett's probably 7 or 8 times, and I'm always impressed with the quality of the flowers. Their arrangements are very nice, offer a lot of variety, and more importantly, most of the flowers last for at least a week to 10 days. I've purchased from other shops where the flowers seem to wither after just a few days. I have never ordered online, but simply call them and tell them how much I want to spend. They ask about colors and style and the results have yet to disappoint. read more

Very Disappointed with Berrett's Blossoms. My daughter contacted this florist and set up an appointment for a wedding consultation. My daughter, her future sister-in-law and future mother-in-law met with a lady and went over all of their desires for the wedding. Everything seemed to be understood and documented. My daughter wanted to review the information and make sure they didn't need additional items. They asked if they need to make another appointment for a final consultation and where told that they could come in anytime. When she and her future mother-in-law showed up to finalize the order, they were told that they were too busy to meet with them. After some persuasion, the owner agreed to go over their order with them. Again, everything seemed to be understood and documented. I, the mother, dropped off the vases a week prior to the event. There was no welcome as I arrived, which immediately made me concerned that there was no care for our business. When I told her I was there to drop off the vases she said "I wondered when these were going to show up". She proceeded to ask me what flowers we wanted and how we wanted them arranged. I told her that my daughter had already given this information twice. She said that she was the person who does the wedding arrangements and that she had never met with my daughter on the floral details for the wedding. I asked her why that was since my daughter had already been in twice to go over the details. At this point, I was extremely upset and frustrated, and my daughter was very stressed about these last minute hiccups. She agreed to meet with us the next day, which we did. When we left my daughter was fairly comfortable that everything was understood. The day of the wedding we were soon disappointed. The flowers seemed to quickly wilt and over half of the loose flowers that we ordered were broken leaving them difficult to use. We were missing corsages and short a boutonniere. Best flower shop around. They aren't looking for what you can do for them but what they can do for you. I have been going to them for years. For proms, sweetheart, really any dance. My sibling have gone for them for all their dances and my sister used them for her wedding. When it came time that I needed flowers donated I came straight to them. They didn't care what I could do for them. I offered to put there name as a sponsor, to announce it and they didn't care all they wanted was to help me and my cause. read more

How to even begin writing this review. My father passed away and I was told by the funeral home that they recommend using Berrett's Blossoms for funeral arrangements. Because of their recommendation I drove to Berrett's, about 20 minutes south of Salt Lake City and very specifically described what I wanted for my dad. He was a very outdoorsy man, loved to hunt, hike, farm, garden, etc. I clearly stated that I did not want anything "frilly," no roses, nothing pink, nothing bright. I also mentioned that I didn't want any palm fronds because he hated the ocean. I wanted greens, twigs, pussy willows, wheat stalks, sunflowers, and some purple flowers. -- A few days before the funeral I found some pheasant feathers at my dad's home, so I drove again the 20 minutes to Berrett's to give them the feathers to put in the very masculine arrangement. The woman who was helping me was kind enough to bring many flowers up stairs so that I could make sure the arrangements would be exactly like I wanted. Imagine my horror when the two huge arrangements that would sit on either side of the casket arrived and they were filled with pink roses, bright orange flowers and palm fronds! I told the funeral director that the wrong flowers were delivered. He assured me that these were for me. I called Berretts and after some back and forth they admitted they made a mistake. The viewing was in three hours and I was in tears. As we talked they said they would redo the flowers. I told them to make sure there were wheat stalks and twirly twigs as we had talked about earlier. The woman assured me they would be in the arrangement. Berrett's did deliver two new arrangements, but they didn't have wheat stalks or twirly twigs. They were masculine looking, but not what we had talked about. I would think extra thought and care would go into making sure that funeral flowers are done correctly. It is emotionally exhausting losing a loved one and having to plan a funeral within a few days. A flower shop should know this, and strive to make the floral arrangement portion of the funeral seamless. Needless to say, I will never use Berrett's again. read more

On a recent order I made, there was a small miscommunication but Berrett's Blossoms went WAY above and beyond to make sure it was taken care of. No store is always perfect. Honest mistakes happen. I recently ordered flowers for a funeral, on arriving at the funeral service, those flowers stood out amongst all of the flowers. They put together a gorgeous yellow roses and lilies spray.
