Booked an appointment at Portsmouth several weeks in advance but there were 3 other brides so it was tricky to get any mirror space or the attention of the staff. I was very unhappy with the whole experience as I wasn't allowed to even try on 2 of the sale dresses I asked for and they put them back on the rail! They used high pressure sales tactics to get the order, I was measured incorrectly (twice) and wasn't informed of any of the special offers regarding free bridesmaids dresses which I later saw on the website.
Worst of all, they lied to me and said that all future dress alterations would be included if I bought a dress NOT on sale.but then I found out that this wasn't true. I cancelled the order with the store and Head Office within 24 hours but, 2 days later, they still went ahead and placed the order.
Head Office didn't reply to my numerous emails, 2 letters or 3 phone calls and, when I finally managed to speak to someone, he promised to investigate and contact me again in 7 days.but didn't. Finally, AFTER THREE WEEKS, I lost patience and told them I would be going to Small Claims Court. Only then did we get a refund of the money we had paid (almost £500). Appalling customer service but I was one of the lucky ones! Plenty of brides-to-be have had worse experiences and, if you are even considering this company, just type Berketex Brides reviews into Google and you may think again. read more
