My husband and I just moved to the Northeast Area, we were transferred for work. We really like our townhouse so far. There are a lot of children in the community and we feel at home. Whoever the leasing agent is at the property today was rude and dismissive. We were looking for a 2br 2ba, which two rental websites said we're available now. We set up an appointment and when we got there the agent, rather rudely, stated there are no units available until September. When I explained there were websites indicating availability AND that we were contacted by the office to tour one of the available units, he told us we should go somewhere else to find an apartment. As nice as the pictures are, I would not rent here. If this is the reception a potential resident received, I cannot imagine how they treat people once they have the tenant's money. read more

I have lived here about 4 or 5 years ... overall the outside and grounds are well kept ...Phillip is reasonable but my issues with this place began with a water bill that ballooned up to 700 for 3 months because a toilet wasn't repaired right the first time... I ended up just giving up in terms of getting them to at least split the bill.... They will take you to court over being late, doesn't matter if you lived here forever they do not care and will do it for being late less than 30 days. I have lived in multiple apartment complexes and never been to court by any of them prior to being here, even when being late over a month...like I said been here 4 or 5 years and they do not care ... this is a pretty shitty message to send to your residents and it's pretty annoying as well. When they repair things it's always a bandaid on a bullet hole ... instead of just replacing things when they are making money hand over fist. Finally they continuously raise your rent not improving anything inside your apartment. If given the choice of here or their one competitor Salem Harbour which I lived at for a few years prior to here I would choose Salem Harbour in a heart beat. read more

Found an add online for a 2br townhome. Called to see if they were available and was told to come take a tour. Once onsite the leasing agent would not stop talking to allow for questions. She stated the rent was 1500 and some change. We asked to she the 1150 model that was advertised and was told it was available. The agent said there was no such thing. When she was showed the ad... she said oh that must be an old ad. When showed it was 18days old on Zillow, she stated it mush have been for a one bed room. This went on and on until it was clear the ad was a bait and switch tactic. Rent at your own risk. read more

Horrible horrible horrible! They get you in with signs around the town, advertising and when you go look at the place you think it's great. Well what's that saying? If it looks too good to be true it is. First year wasn't horrible but DO NOT stay after one year. Electric bill averaged from $200-300 a month. I talked to neighbors and theirs are around the same amount. They send you a water and sewer bill. It's just a bill. Nothing showing how much water you used or anything. They send the exact or close to the same amount for water and sewer to the whole apartment complex. They get a bill and then spread it evenly to their residents which is illegal. If you ask for a water bill with what you used, you will be ignored. 1. Very rude staff that are not helpful at all. My mother is disabled and has medical problems and was late on rent a few days. You know what we got on the door? A notice to report to court a week later. Yes if you are a few days late on rent you will get a notice on your door to go to court to pay the costs. They also tack on court costs that are $136-300. So you need to go to court, pay your rent and extra costs for being a few days late. You also must pay the whole amount by the 4th of each month. Any normal person would help with payment arrangements but not this place. You pay the whole bill by the date or court you go. Imagine your mother who can't walk and and having serious medical issues to just be ignored and talked down at like she is a piece of crap. Super rude and these people aren't right 2. The turnover rate of resident's is crazy. I've had 3 new up stairs neighbors since I've moved here and see a new resident moving in or out of this apartment complex every week. 3. Grounds are usually good. But recently dogs have been pooping all over and after reporting this problem we just get ignored over and over again. So watch your feet when you walk We will be moving out this August because every year they raise the rent $45. So living here three years rent would have went up $135. Add that to everything else overpriced and it's not worth it. My review may seem harsh but it's the reality. I've lived in a few apartments in my life and this is by far the worst ever. Do you like spending over $1,500 dollars a month for average? If so this is the place for you!! My fiancé and I were looking for an apt to rent due to needing more space. We found Berkley Trace and from pictures loved the place. So we called and set up a time to view a 2 Bedroom townhouse with den. When we got there we met with a girl named Chelsea (no longer working here) who was very helpful, however they stated they were unable to show us the apt that was available and only showed us a model of a townhome without a den. Liking the area and model we decided to move in. At first everything was great, Neighborhood was safe, quiet and people were really nice. When we signed the lease it stated that water was paid by Berkley and we paid electric/cable. However after a month of moving in we were told we were now responsible for water. One thing I would like to say is Berkley Trace should be investigated in how they bill people for water, as it comes from there corporate office and not from a water dept and the bills were all over the place, sometimes in the hundred dollar range. Also note that your electric bill will be in the high hundred range because the windows are so old that heat and cold enter the apt at all times. After some time we started to realize that this place only cared about money and how to charge more for everything. Like to have a washer in the unit? We did, until we found out that the dryer hot air blows into the bathroom causing mold on walls and ceiling, it was disgusting! Also if you get home after 6 then you will be forced to park far from your home due to other people/ guest of people parking. Even though it states in lease that all guest must park in guest lot, (this was never enforced) Even after half the complex complained and asked to just have reserved parking. This was never done due to the fact that the office staff was changed out every 3 months and seemed to become more and more useless as the changes took place. Moving on to the Maintenance, the one guy, I can't remember his name was awesome(older guy, slim and always wore a hat) he was the best thing for that complex, he showed up in the middle of the night after I called about my A/C not working and fixed it. However again Berkley goes wrong and places this guy named Dave who is in charge of maintenance, who was the most miserable, disrespectful person I have ever met. He has an attitude whenever you ask him for an update on a problem. (HELLO YOU'RE IN CHARGE) For the amount of money this place charges they should really offer the best of the best. If you decide to move here good luck, however you will look back on this and realize this is not a fake review. I would also like to say this is only half of the problems with this complex but to not have a 6 page review I will leave it at this. GOOD LUCK TO YOU IF YOUR MOVING IN, THEY ARE ABLE TO REALLY PUT ON A GOOD SHOW AT FIRST BUT THAT ALL STOPS ONCE YOU SIGN THAT PAPER!!! Pros Nice area, very quiet Close to Street Road Pool Small Gym Lawn and outside property is taken care of by property (even plant flowers in front of your home. Cons Washer in unit is old and hot air from dryer is blown into bathroom which causes mold Windows are really outdated Complex is focused on money and that is all Rude workers Don't listen to the tenants Don't enforce the parking No good office workers. Lived here for 3 years, never had a complaint. We did have some minor maintenance issues but they were always quickly taken care of. The staff has always been great to me and the residents have always been friendly. Grounds have always been very clean. The parking can sometimes be a issue during the snow and get fairly crowded. Have lived in Rose Hollow, which is managed by Berkley Trace Apartments. The staff is rude and unfriendly... they have absolutely no customer services skills. Maintenance takes FOREVER. I've called multiple times to put in a request, and sometimes they have no record of me even requesting a fix. Things like broken a/c, no hot water, brown water... Everything takes forever, and the maintenance team always questions whether or not it's actually broken (?!). They always promise to call with updates but never do--probably bc the work never actually gets done. I don't think I've ever requested maintenance and had it completed after the first call. For the price, I expected better. My neighbors are super nice and friendly, although I believe some of them own instead of renting. Nevertheless, I'll be moving out at the end of my lease. read more

Worst place I ever lived at. They polish up the front with nice plants but once you walk inside it's a scary movie 5! My hot water lasted 4-5 minutes on a good day. Their property manager is rude and unfriendly. Maintenance is lazy. Getting them to work requires more than Trump in power! I moved in to a broken door, and getting it to lock on the third slam got me a noise complaint! Ridiculously nosy neighbor. Windows are made of clay and cold air is sucked in ( you must have heat on auto 24 hours a day ) to not freeze in the winter. Don't make the mistake of moving here. With electric and water you're looking at nearly 1300 for a one bed. Appliances are out of date. Closets squeak. The dryer is older than my grandmother. They stole my 1000$ deposit and they'll steal yours. Their appliances aren't even worth what they charge for deposit. Look elsewhere. Don't fall in their model room trap. read more

Do NOT rent here. My mom had an apartment here for over 5 years. They changed management and it's horrible. There was a fire that affected her apartment and they made the whole process horrible. They had no other apartment for her to go. They did offer her an apartment in another complex, 45 minutes away and $300 more a month. I scheduled a time to get her belongings out of the apartment and the office was closed and no one would unlock her apartment. There are 2 people in the office. Joyce was nice and caring but the guy (Eric I think) was cold, uncompassinate and just a not nice person. My mom is disabled and they just couldn't care less. Even though the sign says they are opened on Saturdays, they apparently are not. However they have no problem telling people to come on Saturday. The apartments went up quick and the smoke detectors did not start going off until people were already out of their apartments. There are no firewalls between the front and back apartments. So the fire traveled fast across 2 apartments. Do NOT rent an apartment here. No one has a clue how to handle the people who spend a lot of money to rent an apartment! read more
