I spoke with Kitty, who was professional and polite. I signed their online agreement, and paid the required half deposit. It was reasonably priced, and the firm seems to have a big presence, and supposedly is service-oriented. The seller required a 30 day time period for closing. Kate had never introduced herself, nor provided an initial consultation, email. She hadn't explained to me that she wouldn't be providing me with my basic attorney service, and told me another lawyer would go over contract...etc. She didn't communicate, provide any support, or contact me at all, and her email was not listed on the email threads. It is true that their office mainly communicates through emails. Weeks went by and I emailed the office. Had Kate received the contract yet? The next day I get an email with a date to go over the received contract with a different attorney. This was confusing to me, as I was not told of this possibility. If so, I could have made an informed decision in what firm I would have liked to represent me. Fast forward to the night before closing. I email the office. Who will be attending the closing with me? Kate Uliskaya emails me, 'I will be attending the closing from Levin Law.' That was my introduction to my attorney Kate Uliskaya. She showed up with all of us waiting at the table, shook my hand and introduced herself aloud. She went over the paperwork, had me sign where needed, and asked for the checks.. If I was properly informed that Kate was either conflicted, limited or unable to provide me her attorney services,( as listed on my sales contract ) I could have made a fully informed decision on what firm I would've chosen to represent me. The whole inaction on this lawyer's part, made for an unecessary tension for my first home purchase. I don't like to give bad reviews, for the simple fact that it can negatively impact someone's business and income stream. But I do have a duty to warn others. If she had explained the situation, maybe offered an apology, I would not have posted this review.
