The…read morereason for my visit was to get a RX filled for my husband who had an eye injury about 3 weeks out. He had to have major eye surgery that took 4-hours. My husband ran out of his drops at 515 Sunday evening. I knew it was a long shot, but I went up to the store and begged the Pharmacist to verify that he didn't have the RX since my hubby had run out of his meds minutes before. He looks at me frustrated and stated that my husband hadn't had a RX filled there in a very long time. I looked at him and said that is impossible since I filled this RX the day after his surgery. I thought he had enough meds for the holiday weekend. But he didn't. The pharmacy tech, Jennifer, could hear me asking the questions trying to figure out the best way to resolve this. She noticed that the pharmacist was rude and unengaging and just mean. He dismissed me without even fully looking up the account. Jennifer pulled up the information after the Pharmacist didn't. She continued on to inform me that it had not been received at any Walgreens pharmacy anywhere. She did pull up his history properly and reviewed the history to see that I had picked up the RX from that pharmacy a few weeks later. Jennifer heard my desperation. The only other solution would have been to try and find a 24-hour pharmacy in another city to get the RX filled, and about a drive 3 hour round trip to try and get this information. I was still on the phone talking to the nurse on duty at the Eye Surgical unit in Miami, FL trying to get the RX resolved, and getting my mind around either driving to a 24-hour pharmacy or going back to Miami, FL. As one would imagine it was causing me to have a small nervous breakdown in the middle of the store. In the midst of all of the information swimming in my head and trying to determine a backup solution to get his eye drops... Jennifer runs up to us; me and my daughter and she says hey your RX just came through at 5:56; which I knew because the nurse on the phone had informed me of that. But the pharmacy had already rolled the window down and turned in the money drawers. We understood they were closing. I just needed someone to have compassion for what was starting to feel like a helpless situation. And I know that the pharmacy may get "emergencies" similar to mine on a regular schedule. But without those drops my husband ran the risk of literally losing his eye. And after he made it through 4-hours of eye surgery, losing it over a RX not making it through the system prior was a terrifying thought. Jennifer played a valuable role in making sure we got the meds. I am very, very, very grateful for Jennifer and her ability to assist me in my time of need. No thanks to the Pharmacist, even though we are very thankful that Jennifer was able to convince him to do the right thing. So, thank you Jennifer!! Thank you very, very much!! She did above and beyond on Sunday. I normally have things in order and Sunday I just needed a little much needed help. Regards, Frank & Teresa Wynn

I called the store and after 4 minutes of listening to the recorded message that repeatedly asked if I wanted vaccinations I finally was able to leave a message for the Pharmacy. When they finally called me back I was advised to try Publix since no CVS had the prescription. Itwas out of stock I was told they would transfer the prescription to the other pharmacy, I went to Publix and they had the prescription and I was told they would text me when the transfer came through. I callled CVS and went through the frustrating automated system until I was able to speak to the pharmacist who then informed me it would take at least 24 hours for a transfer. I reminded her that she was the person who told me to transfer it and now they couldn't accommodate me by transferring the prescription quickly?! I have had varying degrees of success with this CVS but will now move all my prescriptions elsewhere. If I was transferring a prescription because I chose to I could understand a wait but they didn't have the prescription and their pharmacy told me to get it transferred elsewhere I will wait because I am at their mercy but I won't continue to use them if customer satisfaction is not important.

My family has been using Malabar Discount Pharmacy for years but our loyalty ends today!…read more My granddaughter's allergy medicine (we thought was a prescription) cost is now $14.99 as is not covered by Medicaid. We pay it because, well, we thought it was a prescription but we found out today it is literally OTC. When my granddaughter opened the bag she said, "This looks like a box off of the shelf"! When she took it out of the bag I realized she was correct and there was a price tag of $9.19 on the box. I couldn't believe that I was just charged $14.99 for something they took from the shelf and bagged. I immediately went back inside and questioned why I was being charged nearly $6 more for an OTC product. I was told that her script has always been for an OTC product but, since it's always been filled as a prescription, that's how they run it. I asked why she received an actual prescription bottle every other month and I was told that usually they open the OTC box and put the tablets in a prescription bottle.... When asked why I was charged $6 more they said the extra is used for their time to prepare the script, the labels, and the packaging. They did refund the difference to me because I discovered the price difference.... Six dollars may not seem like much to some but, for most, it can purchase other needed things. I am curious as to how many other customers are being overcharged like this. It must be some form of fraud or theft or something! Please be aware.
