Before seeing Dr Jensen I was taken to do an xray. I now understand it is an intraoral xray! Asked if it was covered the technician said yes. Finally see Dr Jensen , he states he can't put the crown on and wants me to see another dentist for imaging who is not on my insurance ! Left disappointed and confused because not my first crown for an implant! Go to another Dentist Dr Rice and he can put crown on with no problem. They sent a bill for over $350 for an xray not covered. They could not put crown on and wanted me to go to another dentist before they could do anything! This is just to warn anyone thinking of going to them.

I have massive anxiety about any dental procedures starting from childhood ( a disastrous tooth extraction at a fancy dentist in Newport 10 years ago among the more recent of nightmares ) as I was born in Hawaii, and mid 70's dentistry was positively barbaric and painful. Dr. Yeoman was so warm and funny that he put me at ease immediately as did his assistant Alex. During the procedure he was fast, precise, thorough and again, very gentle. So gentle he didn't even need to give me novocaine to fix two chips in my front tooth from gnawing on a ribeye bone. The results are BEAUTIFUL and maybe took 40 minutes. He's a magician. Staff members Alex, Rachel and Brandy were all absolutely terrific and got me in right away when I called to explain the issue. I called to pay a few weeks later and was told that there would be a late fee. I inquired since there is no due date, a late fee would be hard to determine and the front desk said "Do you want to pay your bill or not". The nurses even provided me with "documentation" for the tooth fairy, with which I was able to get my tooth fairy reward without the presence of a tooth. The gal who called me told me they received my referral to pull out tooth #. In order to set up an appointment to be seen and the tooth removed, I would need to put down $500 today. Um, excuse me, you need $500 to pull a tooth that is already falling out of my head. The gal told me it was their standard policy, and they needed a deposit incase I needed to be sedated. I told her that wasn't necessary as I only needed to have tooth pulled, that I could literally pull out with my own fingers. I didn't need to be put to sleep, I more than likely didn't need to even get a numbing shot. Called my regular dentist to get in to have the tooth pulled. When it is time to do my implant I will NOT EVER go through BHOS. They tend to scam people out of their money. If YELP set negative stars, they would get -5 stars based on their lack of empathy and their greed.

She immediately had my six year old at ease when she greeted her with a big smile :) She had such patience and compassion that I'd never seen in a dental office before I almost wish we lived in Rapid City full-time so we could visit her again and again! My favorite part is how she took the time to explain everything she was going to do to my daughter before doing it so my daughter had time to process. She also asked my daughter if she had any questions and was super mindful of her experience as a small child being in an unfamiliar dental office. Her exam was completed by Dr. Juhlin and he was just as warm and friendly as Cassandra. It truly was such a seamless experience to be seen by him and I loved the way he provided my daughter with a letter grade so she could understand how great she was doing with her brushing and flossing. An extra special touch is they provide cavity-free kids with a Polaroid photo post visit that they hang on the wall to announce that they are proud members of the "sugar bug club," such a cute concept. There were also fresh cookies, prizes, stickers and the traditional new tooth brush gifted...it was just an impressive send-off to say the least! I didn't get their names but the receptionist who checked us in and the office worker who checked us out were also both kind and friendly. I really can't say enough great things about our experience today and I would highly recommend the entire team to anyone looking for a quality family dentist office in the Rapid City area!

Make sure you get everything in writing here, or better yet, find a clinic in Rapid City that honors its word and cares about customer service.

They also got him back in to put the wires back in right after the appointment (across town). I was talking with the receptionist about a concern his dentist brought forward. The orthodontist (was grabbing something on his day off) heard me and went right back to check on him, tweaked my son's plan to be seen more often (no additional payment) and took time to explain everything and align with the dentist's concerns. Due to it being a holiday, the office was only open for maintenance visits, so the care put forth today was above and beyond!!! Thank you!

You can have a free first consultation and learn what the process involves and what you need. Because they have four locations and three orthodontists, it's easy to get an appointment. The onsite lab eliminates a lot of waiting time - in this practice, patients come first and it shows.

They have shown contempt and disregard for me as a patient, customer and a person. I was referred to this office by my dentist who detected potential cancer concerns on my tongue. They sent me to this office and instructed me to take my medical insurance. Upon arriving at the West River office I was told they do not take medical insurance (even though a biopsy falls under a medical procedure). When I asked for clarification on why I was instructed to bring my insurance card to them, the receptionist sternly said "If you don't want to pay, you can leave." They choose to not work with medical insurance. For - what I gather - no other reason than laziness. I did pay in cash that day. That's what you do when the concern of cancer is lofted at you. 10 months later I received a phone call from Indiana University (IU). They did the lab work on my biopsy sample. But failed to send me a bill. IU blames West River for a minimal error in my address, and West River blames IU. West River did submit their work to my insurance company (a small outfit you may not have heard of - Blue Cross Blue Shield), but refused to recognize that IU was out of my network. West River did no due diligence to work with my insurance and send the lab work to somewhere in my network (they choose to ignore the many labs in the state of SD in favor of somewhere states away). They gave me not option or notice that they chose to use an out-of-network lab. To recap: They would not take health insurance (despite attempting to make a claim -- is that fraud?) They would not do due diligence to work within my insurance's network. They gave me no notification that they were contracting out this work and that I would have additional financial responsibilities. They gave IU my address incorrectly (according to IU) and I didn't receive bills or notice for over 10 months. They took my money (rudely and without compassion) and demonstrated no concern for the additional challenges they created for me. In fact they seemed inconvenienced that I would even bother to investigate these business practices. In as much as possible, do not give West River any of your business. I will update if West River decides to take any responsibility or actions to care for this customer.

I had not been seen at Wilson Park yet, but I had an appointment set in the future for a cleaning. I was able to reach Dr. Haave directly, and she walked me through what to do to get through the night and calmed me down as I was very upset. I was able to be seen the very next morning. During my visit, Melissa and Dr. Haave took great care of me, taking time to explain everything and comfort me due to my anxiety around everything that was happening with my teeth.
