This place had only been open a few weeks when I visited it for brunch. Everything from being seated to finishing our plates was filled with wait times. Getting a table was quicker than expected for Melbourne brunch time, however the wait time for everything was ridiculous, and when our plates come out I wasn't particularly wowed with my dish (eggs benny) as the slow cooked pulled meat on it wasn't particularly tender, but my partners chilli scramble was great.
Pros:
-two of the wait staff were fantastic and absolutely understanding of our frustration
-great atmosphere
-good coffee
-usual pricing for the area
-one of the wait staff removed the coffees from the bill without us requesting it as a sign of good will
Cons:
-I was blatantly ignored on two seperate occasions when I tried to get some staff assistance. It was only when I stood up and walked to the coffee counter that I was engaged
-it took 15 mins for table water to come out (had to ask for it)
-it took 35 minutes after initial order, and three attempts with staff to get my coffee served. I was assured by a staff member after fifteen minutes that it would only be another two minutes. She never came back to check on me and I had to flag down another staff member. 20 mins after that I was served my coffee
-two dishes took 45 minutes to come out of the kitchen
-the table next to us who ordered two similar dishes 15 minutes after us were served there dish before us
Maybe they only had a bad day, maybe the don't have enough staff, maybe my snapshot experience was a freak of circumstance, but given the quality of cafes in Melbourne, and especially this area, I'll not be visiting here in the near future. Fingers crossed they iron out their opportunities soon. read more
