We came on a snowy Saturday afternoon and had the most delicious sushi. The plate was a work of art and was almost as beautiful as the actual fish. Each piece was beautiful; mouth watering, fresh, luscious and yummy. Yelp reviews are supposed to be long and detailed but I have nothing more to say, except each bite was exquisite. Yama is small, unpretentious, and comfortable. Background piano music added an intimate feel on this snowy day. You will not find better Japanese or Korean food anywhere in the Upper Valley.

We were looking for a quick dinner in Hanover after a long day of helping my mother-in-law move…read more She recommended Sushiya which apparently is relatively new in Hanover. I skeptically thought "how good could sushi be in New Hampshire and especially if not run by Japanese folks?" I was glad to be proven wrong! We ordered a variety of different kinds of sushi rolls and sashimi and everything was super fresh and delicious, including the following types of rolls: avocado, california, shrimp tempura, tuna. We also ordered the bi bim bap in the hot stone bowl which was good, not the very best I've ever had (comparing to eating dolsot bibimbap in Seoul, HMarket food markets), but we ate almost all of it and took the rest for leftovers which were polished off the next day, so perhaps even very good! The meals all came with complimentary banchan (small side dishes) of cold bean sprouts, broccoli, pickled spicy zucchini, flavored boiled peanuts (my least favorite banchan), and miso soup. Loved the bean sprouts and broccoli and they brought us more when we finished the first round. Next time we're in Hanover we'll visit Sushiya again for sure!

Our server was awesome and took our drink and appetizer orders while we pondered the large menu. For an appetizer the three of us split the scallion dumplings - these were excellent and just the right small tasty bite to tide us over. For entrees we had the Yum Isan with beef (a deliciously spicy and tangy salad), the Basil Fried rice with Tofu and the Pad Thai with chicken. As we split our dishes family style, the selection offered a great balance. Parking is on the street, but at least not the most crowded bit of downtown, so spots were fairly easily available. All in all a really quality find that I highly recommend!
