This chippy sits on its own opposite the Grey Horse, but, perhaps because you can park right…read moreoutside, it does a good trade. However, it obviously doesn't do well enough to remain open for more than a few hours at any one time, as I have found to my frustration on more than one occasion. Apparently it's not that unusual for a fish and chip shop to open for lunch, shut in the early afternoon and then reopen for tea time, but for one in such a good location (right at the top of Horsforth's Town Street) you'd expect one continuous period of business. If you can catch this place when it is open, the fish and chips are pretty nice, and they do a mean battered-sausage. It's very reasonably priced as well...it's just a shame you can't enjoy it whenever you want to.

So-so standard fish & chips…read more As the reviewer before mentioned this place should be doing a roaring trade, but sadly there is too much choice in Horsforth to have to settle of this mediocre chippy. The chips are usually over-fried and crunchy, the fish non-descript. Redeeming feature the mushy peas are quite nice. I have been told that the sausage is delicious (as also indicated by the previous reviewer), but it's not for me. They also sell Southern Fried Chicken, but as I have NEVER seen anyone buy it, presumably those who have either won't or can't buy again, I would not recommend it. This place used to be full of school kids on a weekday lunchtime so I imagine that's were they get a lot of trade. Again too much choice to put Long Row in the top five this side of Leeds. Give it a miss if you can.

It seems to me that traditional fish and chip shops are getting harder to find but Daisy Fisheries…read moredefinately qualifies. They don't do much here but what they do do is great fish and chips served with a smile and a bit of banter. The chips were so oddly random in their size and shape there could be no doubt that there was some poor soul in the back cutting up real potatoes and the fish.....well let me just say that the monster i was served wrapped in beautifully light, crisp batter would have been sold as a special in most places.

I tried Daisy Fisheries tonight, and can I just say I was certainly not disappointed. It's a traditional chippie in Bramley, right next door to the Daisy pub- and I am sure that the locals definitely whack a visit into their pub routine! The queue was long, a massive beacon to emphasise their local popularity! Their drinks selection I was so pleased to see included the standard soft drinks you come to expect from all takeaways, but also Dandelion and Burdock, Cloudy Lemonade and Cream Soda! I was in old school heaven. They serve haddock as the main fish, but for an extra pound or so, you can ask for cod, something of a rareity these days. Overall fish and chips come to £3.40, an absolute bargain for the feast being handed over the counter. The staff were lovely and obviously have a good working relationship and couldn't treat their customers better, considering how busy they are! When I got home, although I'm willing to admit how hungry I was, the food was brilliant. The chips were not too soggy or hard, but it was the fish that caught my attention- it was tender and not too dry, with the crispy batter casing it lovingly. I will be going back. Brilliant. 5*s from entering, right to the last bite.
