All the wines I tasted were pretty darn good but what made this 5 stars for me wasn't the wine itself but everything else that came along with it. Service was great. Tyler provided our wine tasting experience and he was friendly and definitely has an old soul. Super likable young man. Wine tasting allowed me to pick a wine I liked, so I ordered a glass to enjoy outside and the outdoor space reminded me of wine country on the Central Coast of California. Beautiful outdoor space, super comfortable and great live music. Although I want to try all the wineries in the area, I will definitely be sure to stop by this one again.

We also ordered wine with crackers and cheese, but I was disappointed with the presentation. Everything was served on paper plates, and we had to cut the cheese ourselves, which felt a little underwhelming for a winery experience. The scenery and atmosphere were enjoyable, but the food presentation and service could definitely be improved.

I was getting cold feet about the hour drive the night before and exchanged a few messages with the owner. He might be one of the kindest people I've met. Just so genuine and reassuring. Felt like I was talking to family. There is a dirt road up to the farm and spots to park near a little hut you use to grab your buckets and pay afterwards. They have no trouble showing you where to go and helping you in any way. The blueberries were so reasonably priced and they were delicious. U-pick fruit is such a great activity for toddlers and my kids really seem to enjoy it. It wasn't too long of a walk down to the blueberries, but probably would have been a tiny bit tricky with a stroller. As much as I want to gate keep those scones - I'll divulge. Get them. If you do anything right in this next blueberry season it's the scones. Blueberry and lemon and literal perfection. It wasn't my postpartum hormones talking either. It was the best scone I'd ever had in my life. I didn't even think I liked scones and now I dream of them. This specific blueberry piece of heaven. I'm sorry there were no hand pies or jam the day we visited because I'm sure they would have been just as good. Please support this family owned gem. Pick the berries, eat the pastries, just give them your money. They deserve it.

Food was fine, but was primarily just fried foods you can get at any fair (not specifically apple-y). Only a few stands were selling fresh apples, and of those, only one had apple cider! We parked at the school for $5 and were easily able to get in and out. The festival had over a hundred vendors available for browsing, with lots of unique handcrafted items, interactive activities, and yummy food. You can get everything from tacos to barbeque to ribbon fries. We opted for some tacos, street corn, a pretzel, and some apple dumplings and all the food was great! The apple dumpling and the pretzel were personal highlights for me. The event itself does get really crowded, so be prepared to wait in lines for a good portion of your experience. Many of the vendors are cash only, and the day we went the credit card system was offline, causing a reliance on Venmo or other online payment options. Just like every other fair, the prices will be a bit high, so bring a decent amount of cash so you can enjoy your time. One thing I would hope to see in the future is more participation from local orchards. There was a lot of variety with vendors, but I was hoping to see more of a focus on apples as the star of the show. Overall, the festival was a fun experience I could see becoming a yearly tradition for our friend group.

We know these places make most of their money off concessions so we brought a big group and did pretzels (somehow soggy on bottom and rock hard on top) with cheese, 2 funnel cakes (actually good), 2 hot dogs, and tried to order a baked potato (they didn't have despite being on menu) and corn (didn't have but on menu and in a corn maze...my brain broke on that one). Then we got sweet tea which wasn't sweet and got very little ice on a hot day. We also got popsicles, boiled peanuts (amazing!!!), ice cream and lemonade and waters. Grounds were perfect, maze was a blast and the rodeo was adorable. Just wish the concessions could be tightened up a bit. Staff was fantastic though. We will come back every year.

While exploring the main strip, I came across Dot's Fine Wine and Craft. I was hoping they offered wine flights (they do, but only on Thursdays), so instead, I opted for a tasting. They have four wines on tap that rotate regularly--usually two whites and two reds, if I recall correctly. The ones available that day weren't quite my personal taste, but the experience was still great thanks to the welcoming staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The shop itself has a laid-back, cozy vibe with plenty of space to sip and explore. Their selection of wines and specialty beers is impressive--and for those just browsing, there's no pressure, just good conversation and even better recommendations. Now, let me give credit where it's due--Todd, the owner, is a force of nature. My fiancée is very particular about her wine, but once Todd started talking, she was sold. He makes the rounds, connecting with every guest, and his deep knowledge and passion for wine is infectious. Between him, his wife, and lone employee who was shaking and moving the entire time we were there, they've created an experience that's polished, personal, and memorable. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to add another wine slushie machine. Every time I went for one, it was still chilling--though in their defense, the place was buzzing with activity due to a downtown festival. Dot's isn't just a wine store--it's a destination. They also offer: Thirsty Thursday Wine Flights (4 for $15, waived with a $45 purchase) Monthly Wine Club Private Tastings & Cellar Consulting Wedding & Event Bar Services Wine and Beer Growlers Rotating Frozen Sangrias, Frosé & Wine-Based Cocktails Charcuterie, Wine Gifts & Accessories I've visited plenty of wine shops across the state, but Dot's truly stands out. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just curious, it's absolutely worth the trip. You'll likely leave with more than just a bottle--you'll leave with a great experience.
