Parent supervisor is a must. Hello, we're literally at the mall with an open space for play. So definitely make sure you don't leave your children unattended. There is no one watching the place and children and parents can come and go as they please. My little girl just runs in and out as if it's her house. The slide near the back of the room is her favorite. She could slide and slide all day, since there's usually several kids her age sliding with her. There are other activities kids can play with like the shape builder table, the run-in-place race pole, and tablet-like screen to for creation. Ever since the first time we visit, several days before Christmas, we've stop by everytime we're at the mall. It's a good exercise for toddlers, from running around, screaming here and there, jumping, climbing, and sliding which will help them sleep or nap better afterwards. I recommend this place for parents who are waiting for the other parent to finish their shopping.

It is set way back along a somewhat secluded road called Jerry L Maygarden Road. It may seem like you're going onto private property, but you're not! The park is between the SkyWarrior Flight Training & Pensacola Aviation Center to the left and the Pensacola Air Flight School & the Pensacola Navy Flying Club to the right. There's a gate at the entrance of this park. It is free to the public. The park is open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. There are picnic tables of which one has shade. It rained a lot while I was visiting Pensacola in August. The park looks like a mini airport with runways, control tower, and airplanes! Although there is a mini Control Tower (observation tower) at this park, I could not get to the stairs without stepping into a very large pool of water! I really wanted to go up there, but I didn't want to get my shoes soaking wet! The main walkway is a mock runway. The smiling red, blue, and yellow airplane toys are off to the side. Too cute!!! This discovery park is also known as the General Daniel "Chappie" James Jr. Aviation Discovery Park. General "Chappie" was a Pensacola native who became the first African American four-star general to serve in the U.S. military. There are tribute plaques to him and other individuals important to aviation. I stayed here for about a half hour and watched the planes land & take off at the Pensacola Regional Airport. Hubby & I used to park near the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) way back in the day before the road was barricaded and closed to the public. We'd watch the planes take off! I miss that and it was nice to be able to do that here for a bit!

Reed is wonderful to be around and he has taught me so much. The adoption process was so wonderful, everything I've wanted. All my needs were met. Reed makes sure all these birds go to great homes. As for the parrots, they are provided with daily enrichment, a great diet, other birds to interact with and places to hide . Misters in the heat and heat lamps in the cold. They give you a little cut of food of peanuts, cooked pasta and bread to feed the birds. You're given a very brief class on how not to get bitten when feeding them. These types of birds can inflict a nasty bite. It only costs ten dollars a person to walk through and it has to be cash. I donated another twenty bucks as well. The bird enclosures are spacious and the birds appear well fed and healthy. I really enjoyed the Emus, budgies and the funny chicken. There are even peacocks running around. One let me feed it peanuts and was very friendly. This place does a great service for surrendered birds nobody wants or knows how to take care of. Visiting funds continued care for these animals and I fully support the mission. It really is a fun experience.

It could use a bit more parking, however, I did get a decent enough spot. This is not a huge riverwalk, but it is still pretty cool. When I say it is not big, I mean that it is very small. It's small enough that you can walk it in a matter of a few minutes. All in all, I enjoyed my time at this cool little riverwalk. I can guarantee that if I lived in the area, I would be here on a pretty regular basis. If you find yourself in Milton, Florida, go check this out. It is pretty bare bones for a dog park, and it seems as if there hasn't been much updating in years. They have a side for smaller dogs and a side for larger breed dogs; however, people love to bring in their beloved chihuahua and then proceed to get angry when a mastiff tries to play with it.. common sense here people. They have an "in ground" water bowl with a faucet for the dogs on both sides. For the dogs they have three concrete tubes to...go through? They have a incline board for them to walk over, and then one plywood board with a hole cut in the middle for a dog to jump through. Other than that it's just a larger open space for dogs to run in a caged in area. Would be nice for them to add some more dog related activities into the park. There are two benches with covering to sit under for the humans. As well as a bag dispenser for you to ACTUALLY pick up after your dog..*cough cough* Also.. there is no lighting after sunset so beware..
