Benjamin is a fantastic photographer. We got married in September 2025, with a small ceremony at home then a reception on a bay cruise. Benjamin had a call with us beforehand to find out what was important to us. On the day of the wedding, he arrived early to stake out the best light and backgrounds. Great family and ceremony photos, especially the unposed shots which caught the moments so well. For the reception he captured everything start to finish, and the guests all loved him. He knows the Luxe cruise boats and staff so well, and when and where to get great scenery shots. The best photos were with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background at sunset, particularly the whole group at the back of the boat. After the event, he carefully curates the photos to tell the story of your Big Day. I highly recommend Benjamin. He's the best! read more

Benjamin Photographics - The shot of the day! - Photographers Near Me

Five stars are not enough, simply put. As a bride planning her wedding, pouring through portfolios of photographers, it's really difficult to make a choice. From the very first phone call with Benjamin, I was captured by his energy and charisma. When we met him for our engagement shoot, we left with such a sense of confidence in that choice. The engagement photos were EXTRAORDINARY, and made us so excited to have Ben capture our big day. In the months and weeks leading up to our wedding, Ben was a pillar of support and organization. My MOH told me that it's important to choose a photographer whose personality you really vibe with, because you spend so much intimate time with that person on your wedding day. Let me just say, it's true, and I could NOT have chosen better. The day of the wedding, Ben showed up and it was like a good friend had just walked into the room. He kept us all calm yet thrilled, relaxed yet excited, and poised yet present. I got every single photo I dreamt of getting on that day, plus SO many more that my husband and I will cherish for the rest of our lives. Ben is a genuine master of his craft. Planning and pulling off a wedding requires a whole lot of energy, money, time, and thoughtfulness...and in the end, it's just one day. One day that you enjoy with every fiber of your being, but which inevitably feels like a beautiful blur. To possess a gallery and album of photos like the one Ben has given us...there is simply no greater gift. These photos are worth their weight in gold, to say the very least. Several friends have described our photos as "a fairytale wedding straight out of Vogue". I thank my lucky stars that Benjamin was the one to capture our day. Part of what made our photos so extraordinary is the instant chemistry that formed between us and Ben, and the familiarity and ease he invoked on our wedding day (a day of gorgeous chaos and nervous anticipation!). I cannot emphasize enough how important that factor was. He really knew how to alchemize that energy. Additionally, Ben is just seriously a genius behind the lens. The skill and mastery involved to be able to create this kind of art from two living, breathing human beings blows my mind. I could still just pinch myself that it was all real, and that we have this amazing gallery of photos to prove it. They are beyond my wildest dreams. I was there, I lived it, I experienced how gorgeous it was - and yet the photos tell us the vibrant story of our very own fairytale wedding like we are seeing it with brand new eyes. I am so stunned and proud that this was OUR wedding! The takeaway is this: outside of the incredible groom I was marrying and the presence of my family, the photography was the next most important aspect of my wedding day. I deeply craved a tangible record of this monumental day, this rite of passage, and this magical experience that I knew would pass in the blink of an eye but that I'd want to relive forever. What I ended up with was so much more than I ever anticipated. It's every photograph that I wanted, but it's also a tale told to me in the most beautiful language possible. It tells me our story and takes me through the experience of my own wedding day through a lens much more powerful than the human eye can process in the moment. Benjamin is the whole package, delivering a hybrid of raw talent, dynamic personality, skilled precision, and seamless execution. This is THE person you want running the cameras on your wedding day. Take it from me. My husband and I give 20 stars. read more

I highly recommend Benjamin for wedding or any other professional photography needs! We found Benjamin through my sister who works with his wife planning weddings. In my search for a photographer, which I had to do from Washington state, I was really only thinking about their work and the finished photos. For some reason I hadn't thought about making sure that person was a personality fit to be around us and my family (who had only posed for Sears portraits during my childhood) the day of. Luckily Benjamin, and his assistant Binjam, were AMAZING. From the second I met him the day of our wedding I felt extremely comfortable. Benjamin jumped right in and knew what to do and when, and made the picture taking parts of the wedding super fun. He was able to group my large family together, which is made up of different personalities, and get everyone to feel relaxed and pose as needed for the shots. He showed the perfect balance of playfulness, fun, and professionalism. Looking back on the day, I don't remember seeing Benjamin a lot, however he was there and all over capturing candid amazing shots. It made me realize an excellent photographer is there but isn't in your face the whole time, which is more of what I expected from a wedding photographer in general. My family and friends raved about him for weeks after the wedding, saying he was so kind, fun, and was getting great photos. We just received the photos and they're stunning. He did an incredible job. I am so happy we chose to work with Benjamin and highly recommend him for wedding or other professional photography needs :-) read more

I highly recommend you hire Benjamin as your wedding photographer. I was a COVID bride who had to reschedule the wedding a few times, and then had pregnancy complications just before the event was finally about to take place. Throughout the whole process Benjamin was accessible and accommodating. We ended up hiring Benjamin to photograph our small ceremony one year before the larger reception once COVID restrictions lifted. This was really great because it gave us an opportunity to work with him on two occasions and become familiar with his style (and being photographed in general). He was also very reasonable with his pricing and considering our atypical situation, we were able to come up with a package that worked for us. During both events, Benjamin made sure that my husband and I felt we had time to ourselves and never felt the chaos of the day (it also helped having his amazing wife Saskia from MOOI as our day of coordinator- DEFINITELY recommend you look into hiring them both as they are quite the dynamic duo!). The photos he captured are truly amazing and images I will cherish forever. Rather than contrived or rigid stock photos, Benjamin's candid photos accurately reflect the joy we experienced that day. I am also really impressed with his ability to be everywhere at once while seemingly invisible. We had photos from the middle of the dance floor and photos of small moments between relatives, but I never felt like he was intrusive or demanding. Overall, I am very glad to have had the opportunity to work with Benjamin and highly recommend you look no further for your event's photographer! read more

There was magic in the air, and they captured it. Your wedding day is the most important and special day of your life. Documenting it is beyond a tough task. I'm sure I was no easy bride to work with. We planned a destination wedding to San Francisco in a month from Tulsa, OK and I had a shot list that would make anyone tired just thinking about it. I didn't just our wedding captured, I wanted a photo shoot. Ha! Benjamin was the recommended photographer with Commodore Events. I had already called around not knowing they had an amazing photographer they worked with. That's when I talked to Benjamin. I looked at his pictures. He called and listened to why San Francisco was important to us and why the pictures were the element of most importance to me. And then our wedding day came and he KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE BALLPARK! We spoke the day before and I knew it was going to be a fun time. He's professional, yet feels like an old friend. I had a slight snafu when we arrived to City Hall and I had forgotten my ID, and he rolled with the punches, calmed us down and suggested it actually worked out better because we could get more photos. Bless him. We spent the most time with him and his assistant Todd than with anyone on our wedding day, and I can tell you they made our day. They are the reason we had the best day ever. And I mean that. We gallivanted all over the city with them, which was the best part of our wedding day. When we asked to stop at market, they did--and grabbed their cameras. I have never had more fun in my entire life. And they helped give us that. They knew where to go, they laughed with us, they gave us everything we wanted. It could have felt cold and posed--driving around the city with strangers taking pictures, and yet it was sincere and genuine and fun. I could feel they cared and wanted to give us everything we dreamed of. And they did. Some people take pictures. Other people make the pictures come to life. That's what Benjamin does. Each time I look at our photos I find a new favorite. We had a very small and intimate affair, so we've shared the pictures with others. I have never had so much outpouring from people gushing about these photos. You guys. I didn't know what to expect, but it's the largest photo gallery ever. People I hardly know have told me they have looked at every single photo and cried. Yes, the photos capture the emotion and the day so well that strangers feel like they were a part of our day, and the emotion he captured makes you cry with us. They still make me cry. They are amazing. His work is amazing. He and Todd are amazing people. I am forever grateful. read more

We loved working with Ben for our wedding. He made us both feel very comfortable and produced some really breathtaking shots. Would definitely recommend Ben for your wedding day! My wife and I hired Benjamin to photograph our wedding cruise of the San Francisco Bay. We arrived early for the wedding and had pictures taken on the lawn in front of the harbor. Luckily the weather cooperated for us and we had a nice sunny warm day in January. Benjamin had an easy way about him that made everyone relax and feel comfortable when he took pictures. He took some stunning photos of us with the Golden gate bridge and sunset in the background while we were sailing in the Bay. It is always scary to hire someone for such an important one time event like a wedding but we were fortunate that everything worked out so well. The pictures were of a very high quality and we have received compliments from the relatives that we have given photo books to. All in all we are very satisifed with the work he did. read more

Choosing our photographer for our wedding was the biggest decision we knew we would face as photos last a lifetime! When we met w/Benjamin, we loved his style and it fit ours. We didn't want the typical wedding photos that you would normally see, but unique poses and lots of candid shots - and Benjamin delivered! Our engagement photos were out of this world and we had such fun taking them. Benjamin made us feel relaxed and it shows in our pictures. For our wedding, again, Benjamin was amazing! We got all the photos we wanted and he was so accommodating if we wanted to do another shot, or had suggestions, but we trusted him and glad we did! During the reception, he captured many fun candids that are probably our favorite pictures. I HIGHLY recommend Benjamin and would use him again in a heartbeat. He is the consummate professional who is highly artistic with great vision. We absolutely love our wedding pictures and I only wish I could have hired Benjamin for the entire weekend of our wedding to capture our destination wedding in Napa. read more

My wife and I were originally introduced to Benjamin because he was the preferred vendor for Commodore Cruises and Events. We browsed his previous work and loved it! We hired him to do our wedding photography promptly. Benjamin is a very easy going photographer and takes the photos that you want. Additionally, he also takes great photos of things you didn't realize you wanted. He had an amazing shot of the crowd during our first dance, and he captured intimate moments of ourselves and our friends. He was always available, even when we told him to go and enjoy dinner. This is the guy you want taking photos for your wedding. You won't regret, and I daresay, you'll love all the photos that you get from him. read more

We love Benjamin's photographic eye, style, and Benjamin himself! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding and engagement photographer. He has the ability to capture everything in the best light and make the photos that much more romantic and beautiful. He also brings great energy to the day and is a great reminder to have fun and enjoy the moment because you can tell he is making the most of it and having fun capturing your day! Benjamin goes above and beyond, and does it with grace. My ceremony site was extremely time restricted, but since Benjamin wanted to make sure we had enough time after the ceremony to take photos, he took it upon himself to somehow get the gate keeper to let us stay there for as long as we needed to take the photos we wanted. So awesome!! And as for the reception, I was so please at how Benjamin captured our Chinese style reception. He also surprised us by setting up a large monitor with photos from the ceremony for guests to view! That was a very nice touch. My friend still is in awe by the photos she saw on the monitor, even after two months past she says, "Your wedding photos are so beautiful!! The ceremony site and ceremony were already beautiful, but the photos somehow made the place even more beautiful!!" And the funny thing is... I know exactly what she means... All I can say is,"Yep, my photographer is AMAZING!" (And now I come to think of it as I write this... I think that her main take away from my wedding! Benjamin's photos slideshow and my dad's speech. My wife and I loved working with Benjamin. Our florist thankfully recommended him and we in-turn highly recommend him. From the start he was very accommodating about listening to our concerns and gave us a custom photography package (that included engagement session and 9-hours of wedding day) that fit our budget. Benjamin was great about keeping in contact with us while also not being overbearing as we were planning our wedding and had other vendors/details to tend to. For the engagement session he knew the perfect spots in SF to hit and at the perfect time. He also knew how to use the windy conditions to his advantage and saw it as an opportunity rather than a challenge. For the wedding he was a star of boundless energy. He is very tall and the wife and I marveled at how he can contort himself to get the perfect picture angle. He never tired out for the entire 9-hours, and he had a knack for balancing patience with being firm. For example, it was during my wife's bouquet toss that I was in the angle of his shot, and he told me to get out of the way in a way that was not rude but I knew he meant business. What we liked most about Benjamin was seeing his mind at work. He puts full effort into each shot and all the variables that go into it. As long as you won't tire out, he has no problem with taking a shot over and over until the conditions are perfect. Then when you see the finished product you realize that it was all worth it. Booking Benjamin for your event certainly is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. And that is an expert photographer with years of experience and the tireless zeal of a 10-year old to match. Fortunately I had a moment to myself during the wedding where I can just survey the scene and collect my thoughts. At that moment it hit me that to ensure success on your special day, spend a little more on your photographer, wedding planner, and wedding band. read more

My husband and I first came across Benjamin from an online deal but decided to contact him and ask about his services since we liked his style and online portfolio. From the moment we met him, he was welcoming and just awesome to talk with. He was candid and honest about his work and life in general. He was very easy to get along with and we felt like he was the sort of person we could trust; so we chose him as our engagement and wedding photographer! We couldn't be happier with how the pictures turned out. He walked us through all the steps and was always wiling to answer questions or emails. He made us feel comfortable during the engagement shoot and those turned out great. He was super accommodating and even went to our house on the way to our wedding because I forgot my husband's wedding band!! Seriously, he saved the day. He was patient and understanding with our large and multi-venue wedding. He took amazing shots of us as well as all the mandatory family photos. We are so happy to have had him as our wedding photographer. Now, our memories are documented and there to cherish forever! read more

My mom and I met Benjamin and his wife Saskia at a bridal fair early last year. Right away, I fell in love with his style and both of their personalities and went home raving to my fiance (now husband). We set up a meeting with them and had a great time discussing the wedding and what we were hoping for. I felt so comfortable with their abilities and personality that we booked Benjamin for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, he and his assistants were fantastic. I've worked with several photographers in the past (being in the wedding biz myself), and I've never seen a more competent and fun photographer. I heard later that the groomsmen and Benjamin were joking around the entire time they were taking pictures, and he made all of my bridesmaids feel at ease. He was even able to edit a few pictures and have a slide show playing during the reception! We got the sneak peak a few weeks after the wedding and I went crazy over them. Everything he shot was gorgeous and got our "fairy tale" theme perfectly. So many fun, amazing shots and most of the time, I didn't even know he was there! He even stayed about 30 minutes after our contract ended to make sure he could get shots of us taking off in the limo. Benjamin is a brilliant photographer that I would suggest over and over again. I really have no complaints about his work at all and the pricing is amazing for the product he turns out. If you want a talented, artistic, unobtrusive photographer to capture your big day, Benjamin Photographics is the place to go. read more

There are not enough stars to express how pleased my husband and I were with Benjamin. From our initial meeting to discuss our wedding and the "feel" we were seeking to achieve, Ben was uber professional, warm, and accommodating. Ben makes each individual in the wedding party, your guests, family and friends all feel so comfortable and as if they are the most important subject in each photo. You don't feel as though it's a chore to have your photo taken. (I've been in weddings before were I have dreaded all the picture taking) Photos with Ben are lighthearted and really fun! We were having a very large, but casual feeling Napa Valley wedding, and Ben captured every moment in exquisite detail. As a bride, there is so much that goes on pre-wedding, and during the wedding that you never really get to see, but with Ben's photo's I felt as though I was there at every moment, even when I wasn't. Ben and his assistant worked seamlessly together. They were able to capture the wedding parties, even when were almost 15 miles away from each other for pre-wedding events, and then to come together for the wedding/reception and to be perfectly in sync was amazing! Our guests raved about how they felt Ben "was everywhere" at all times, and he was! One of the most unique parts of Ben's service to display the photos he's already taken of the ceremony and cocktail hour on a large screen during the reception/dancing. Guests LOVED this! It was not obtrusive or distracting in any way; in fact it added so much to the experience and joy of our friends & family getting a sneak peak at our wedding album..... Super, super cool....we kept hearing "oohs and awes" from around the photo display. As if Ben were not enough, we also hired his wife Saskia Winter of MOOI Weddings (www.mooiweddings.com) as our wedding planner. Saskia and Ben work together to make sure there is nothing, I mean nothing that goes wrong at your wedding. Several times I asked Saskia about something and her response was always..."already done" or "not to worry it's taken care of"! These two are a dynamic duo of epic proportions! I would hire them 10 times over and will recommend them to any friends/family needing professional wedding or event services. They are a pure delight to work with and will not disappoint! read more

My husband and I saw an online deal for an Engagement shoot so we decided to take a look at Benjamin's website. We loved what we saw so we contacted him to meet up to chat. We could tell that Benjamin and his wife Saskia were very sweet and down to earth people as well as we loved his photos so we went for it. Our engagement session was in March of 2013 in San Francisco and we have never taken pictures like this before so we felt a little awkward in the beginning, but Benjamin made us feel so relaxed and we gradually warmed up to the camera! We got some great shots that we and our family are enjoying. Our day finally arrived on Oct. 19th and everything couldn't have been more perfect! From getting ready prior to the wedding, cruising around in a cable car, to our reception and everything in between . . . Benjamin and his team got it all! The best surprise was during the reception when he put up a screen with some of our shots already edited ... We were so amazed how much they were able to catch our day in the light it deserved. Our goal was to share how much we loved each other with all of our friends and family, and I was in awe of how that came out in our photos as well. Beyond their talent, Benjamin and his team were very professional, which with our group might have been hard sometimes. I would/will recommend Benjamin to everyone for any special day they want to capture. AMAZING! ~ Laura & Forrest read more

Benjamin was super easy and fun to work with. From our initial casual meeting to our fabulous big day, he was warm and down to earth. Benjamin has a great eye for his shots. He included some of the coolest scenes from our venue site, and took awesome family/wedding party photos. He was with us throughout the day and evening and danced with us like we asked. He accommodated an entire wedding attendee shot request, that was very challenging to capture due to the sun that day! He was a great leader and produced a picture I was truly hoping to have. Benjamin and his amazing assistant were wonderful. We highly recommend! read more

My husband and I first met Ben and Saskia at a coffee shop months before our wedding - they instantly won us over with their warm and genuine personalities. We wanted our wedding photographers to feel like friends and to share in our excitement about our big day and after meeting and talking to Ben and Saskia, we knew they were the perfect fit. During our first conversation, they made us feel listened to and they were very detail oriented in their explanations and questions. They were open to our creative thoughts and had lots of creative and helpful ideas to offer as well. We left that meeting feeling confident that they understood what kind of joy we would be asking them to capture. As we moved closer and closer to our wedding date, they were available whenever any questions came up. A few months before our wedding, Ben shared news that Saskia was pregnant and would likely be unable to be his partner for our wedding day. He immediately told me his backup plan and set any anxiety I had about not having Saskia with us to rest. One month before our wedding, Ben took the time to meet us at our wedding site with Jake, his assistant who would be stepping in for Saskia. We did a walk through of the grounds together - the fact that Ben took the time to familiarize himself with our venue before our big day gave me even more peace of mind that everything would flow smoothly. On our actual wedding day, Ben and Jake made such fun additions. They were not only fun for our families and guests to be around but they were incredibly flexible and dynamic. They managed large family photos beautifully, got incredible candids of our ceremony, made our post-ceremony bride and groom shots quick and efficient so we could get to the party and in the end captured all the joy and love in our wedding day perfectly. They even managed to get a slideshow of the photos they took up and running during our reception - our guests were so impressed!! We were absolutely thrilled with their service! Ben turned around our photos in a month and he continues to offer editing services when we need them. We couldn't be happier with the photos we have to remember our wedding by and we give the highest recommendation possible for Ben and Saskia- they are talented and incredible people. read more

Hiring Benjamin is a great choice! First, the most important thing of all, the photos. They were gorgeous, well taken, and really used the aesthetics of our wedding and the venue to tell a story. I had no idea our wedding was so much fun until I saw the photos! Just gorgeous. Benjamin doesn't give you 100% of the photos that he takes, just the best ones. This may make you nervous, but trust me, when you get your photos and every single one is wonderful, you understand what the point was. Second, beyond the photos, Benjamin brings a calm, confidant attitude that really puts you at ease. Sure, he'll ask you to make a goofy pose that makes you feel unnatural, but there's an ulterior motive of trying to make you smile for the camera. Thanks for everything Benjamin! read more

I met Benjamin at a wedding fair and he had me at Hello! One thing I had in mind when looking for a photographer for our wedding was that I wanted someone that we were comfortable with and had a good connection with. There is nothing less appealing than a photographer that you have to spend hours with that you don't connect with, especially on an important event like your wedding. I immediately liked Benjamin's pictures he had on display and liked his fun, easy going personality. We set up an appointment so my husband could meet him and look at his portfolio, and so we could also meet Benjamin's wife Saskia and talk to her about her wedding planning services. We met over coffee and it was like visiting with old friends. My husband and I decide to make it official and hire Benjamin for our big day! We are so happy and in love with our photos. We loved that he not only had great posed shots but also really captured us and our family and guests in the moment, which was very important to us. We have received tons of compliments on our photos and wonderful comments about how awesome our guests thought Benjamin was. He was competitively priced and was really open to working with us to build the package that fit our needs. We are very happy we found him and decided to have him as our photographer.Thank you Benjamin for capturing our day so beautifully! read more

My Fiancé and I were looking for the perfect photographer and weren't having any luck. Either too expensive for the quality of the work or just plain ridiculous. We had all but given up when Benjamin was referred to us by a friend. We were only 1 month from the wedding date at this point and figured it was a long shot. He just happened to have our date free so we met with him. I can say with absolute certainty we made the right choice. Benjamin was very kind and understanding, very willing to lend a hand any way he could and work with us on the details and budget. We were quite simple with our wants and needs yet Benjamin far exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our day shine. Benjamin has a great photographic style which matched our characters perfectly. My Wife and I are extremely pleased with Benjamin's work, the photos turned out beautiful. On a side note, our reception venue and church were not exactly the most magnificent looking places. With that working against him, Benjamin was still able to make our wedding look amazing. We are so happy with Benjamin and will be referring everyone we know to him. Thanks! read more

Benjamin did a great job! We could not have asked for more from our wedding photographer. He and his team were very professional, very competent , and the results were just what we wanted. Ben did a fantastic job doing photography for our wedding! He was flexible with our choices of location for pictures and taking time to drive around before the wedding to get them done. He took great candid photos as well as staged and during the ceremony was able to get amazing and up close shots without seeming to be in the way or blocking the audience. Overall a wonderful experience! read more

Benjamin was our photographer for our May 24 wedding. We booked him because when we met with him, he immediately made us feel at ease (which is important for someone who will be up close and personal with you all day on your wedding day!). His prices are very competitive. He brought an assistant to our wedding, even though it was very small (65 guests), which turned out to be really nice for getting shots from different angles, the right lighting, etc. The final product-- our photos-- were just stunning! We absolutely love them. The reason I took off one star is that our contract stipulated that Benjamin would provide access to our wedding photos in an online gallery and on a USB stick within 6 weeks after the wedding date. Although he did send us the link to the online album (you can preview the images, but can't get them in full resolution) in about 4 weeks, it took over 7 weeks for us to get the full resolution images on the USB stick. This occurred because Benjamin was out of town and forgot to mail our USB key before leaving town. In the end, everything worked out, but I can't give 5 stars-- following your contracts is really important! read more

Nothing but good things to say about Ben and his team. Very professional and easy to work with from day one during the initial phone call to the final product. Ben is a wonderful guy. Laid back, but yet gets things done and done well. It was very calming and reassuring to have him with us on our wedding day (he even went out of his way and returned from a family vacation a couple days early just to accommodate us). So many of our family and wedding guest commented to us how much they liked Ben and how easy he was to work with. It felt less like we had a photographer takings our pictures and more like we had an old friend with us. My wife and I commented many times while looking through all the pictures "I didn't even realize Ben was there!" He captured many pictures we did not expect. The final product was very high quality and delivered much faster than we expected. Basically, Ben is wonderful for weddings, but I've also seen some of his artwork and he is just plain talented behind the lens no matter what he is shooting. Could not recommend Ben high enough. Five stars does not do him justice. read more

I am so happy that we chose Ben to shoot our wedding! He made the entire process so easy and stress free. He listened and made sure he knew exactly my vision and desires for the day. His expertise with photography and experience with weddings helped shape my vision with recommendations on types of shots and angles, timeline, etc. He was also always available to answer any questions I had leading up to the big day. It made me feel very comfortable and confident that my pictures would turn out the way I wanted. He has such a fun personality too. Ben is charismatic, direct and works quickly and does so with a very personal touch. It takes a special person to get a hard hearing Grandma to stand in the right spot and keep "that" groomsman in check who keeps cracking jokes during your pictures. Everyone felt instantly comfortable with him and I received so many compliments about him. He did not miss a moment and captured the essence of our day in his amazing shots! He has a great eye and pays attention to the details. I absolutely love my photos! I would definitely recommend Ben to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. You won't be disappointed!! read more
