Once she was released from the hospital and was in an acute rehab facility, we went to see her after her most recent CT scan. We literally spent maybe 10 minutes in her office. She was curt and does not have the best chair side manner. I would ask questions in behalf of my mother and she was not very forthcoming of any information with regard to why my mother fell. She just kept repeating " there is no more bleeding and no more swelling in the brain " . " We're good" ... When we would ask questions about weakness in her lower extremities and unsteady gait she had no answers. When I asked about what we could do about finding the appropriate SSRI for her that might work better than what she was on now she skirted out of this by saying " not my department sorry" .. she barely wrote any Physician's notes for the Rehab facility. I felt it was a complete waist of time and my Mother's time. The Medical Assistant was very friendly and knowledgeable maybe she should become a Neurologist and trade places with her. We will be going back to her original Neurologist. I would give this Physician zero stars if I could.

I hadn't realized it, but my feet were beginning to hurt more and in odd ways. I first had a physical therapist and when I finally relayed my plight to Dr. Taylor she confirmed it was due to my back issues...continuous damage over the years plus the new injuries. In fact, she cleared me for emergency surgery, which she flew back from the East Coast to perform on December 27th, 2022...yes, two days after Christmas!!! Dr. Taylor saved - if not my life -certainly my way of life. Thank you!!!!!! Dr. Taylor is also very personable, knowledgeable, able to speak easily to us laymen, shows great compassion and frankly, wants the best for each patient.

They have chronic fatigue and pain, getting my wife out of the house to an appointment takes a lot of care and time. That's what they were here to get taken care of, after all, and we expected a little bit of sympathy or at least basic human empathy when speaking to the receptionist. Of course my wife began to cry when they were told that after waiting over 6 months to be seen as a new patient, they'd need to wait an additional 3 months, experience more pain and more fatigue while they wait for an opening. I expressed my concern to the young lady at the front desk and did not get a single word, just a lead paint stare and silence. The two girls gossiping behind her also fell silent, offered no answers when asked if there was a wait list of any sort for drop-outs. Nothing. I exited after taking the appointment card, the door is somewhat heavy, and it made a loud sound behind me-- I assure you this was not on purpose, despite my anger. I don't like to make a scene. I heard the receptionists, with attitude, shout "Okay?????" With this lilt in their voices to indicate annoyance. So they CAN speak? Just not to me or to address patient concerns? I have 0 issues with young hires, they need experience, but these guys are the face of your business and while your offices are the ONLY in-network option for many, it does drive the desire to not come even if it means suffering until we can pay out of pocket to see someone else. They're a bad look, they've got bad attitudes, and the warmth and emotional depth of a tapeworm.

Dr. Patel specifically has helped me on countless occasions. He has a great bedside manner, but beyond that he is kind, listens, and does anything he can to help! Since being under his care I have been in the least pain I have been in since I started getting horrible migraines 8 years ago in 2014. I couldn't recommend East Bay Neuro enough and would send my family and friends to them without question!

She did insist on repeating the cognitive exam , even though he'd already failed to get above 12 on 3 prior tests and had a long hx with JMH of low scores (she gets xtra compensation for giving these exams ). Not so much as a baby aspirin was prescribed. No therapies , procedures or alternatives were provided ! The worst care possible and irresponsible healthcare IMO. Then we get a certified letter from the doctors at EBN today warning us they will not provide any care or service after April 30, 2026. What care ? What service ? All you did was say 'there is nothing I can do '. But you kept dragging us down to San Ramon to collect your copays and your paycheck from our visits . I sent a email cursing you out. So you threaten me with cutting him off? That's a blessing , not a curse you worthless pos! ! Avoid them at all costs ! The worst part! I thought she was an actual provider. When my husband required a backyard ADU with handicap access , we couldn't get the loan without 2 provider letters stating he was unable to manage his legal, financial and medical affairs . She doesn't have any legal authority to write letters ! None! We wasted 3 yrs with this inadequate provider with no licensure to issue statements of fact on my husbands medical condition! Complete and utter irresponsibility and misrepresented her authority from the beginning. We thought she had licensure. Avoid them at all costs

She takes the time to listen carefully, explains everything in a way that's easy to understand, and never makes you feel rushed. What impressed me most is how thorough she is--she looks at the whole picture rather than just one symptom. Her approach made me feel confident that I was in the best possible hands. She balances professionalism with warmth, which is rare and so appreciated, especially when dealing with something as important as neurological health. I also want to mention Nurse Chris, who is absolutely amazing--kind, attentive, and always quick to follow up. Together, Dr. Akers and Nurse Chris make such a caring and supportive team that you know you are truly in good hands. It's not easy to find a doctor who combines intelligence, patience, and genuine care for their patients, but Dr. Akers truly does. I am forever grateful for the recommendation I received from Dr. Stephen Hankins for Dr. Brindle. Parking can be difficult but thankfully they offer complimentary valet service. Dr. Brindle and his staff including his nurse practitioner Victoria Flower are wonderful. Dr. Brindle recommended that I have an laminectomy and microdisectomy due to the injury I sustained in which my L4-L5 disc was badly protruding and pressing on my nerve root. I was nervous because it required hospitalization. Dr. Brindle put me at ease. I was hospitalized one extra day for pain management and to ensure I could properly conquer the staircase at home. Appointments are easily made via phone. If you require surgery Dr. Brindle and his staff do an great job ensuring you have the proper follow up afterwards. The surgery I had was what has been the career killer for Tiger Woods and has plagued him. I went into things with the mindset this was an one shot deal because everyone I've encountered that's had multiple spine surgeries is miserable. I'm happy to say I'm doing great. I resumed walking right away and an week and an half post op I walked fifteen miles. I couldn't be happier and more thankful. I'm forever indebted to Dr. Brindle. I'm pain free and with the exception of some range of motion issues that may not improve I'm physically better than I have been in some time.
