I don't usually leave bad reviews but it this situation - I find it necessary to do so. I went to…read morethis Tilem & Associates because I needed legal representation for myself and my kids. I called first and he charged me for a consultation. I paid and he told me that they would take my case and to go to their office. I went there and met with him and a few others. They assured me that I had a case and they would help. One of the attorneys named David was in charge of my case. However, somewhere during my case, he was no longer there and another attorney took over. No one informed me of this. Then I randomly get a call from an attorney named Robert Schechter. He was extremely rude and condescending and sounded unhappy about having the case handed to him. Long story short, my case went on for over 5 years. He never checked in with me or updated me. I would have to email him to check in about once a year asking why my case is taking so long. He would either not reply or reply and say "nothing I can do." I basically had to check my case online on the court website to see what was going on. I saw that he kept agreeing to adjournments with the other attorneys but never informed me about them. Then after a while when I asked him about them - he said they were discussing a settlement. After I paid them a lot of money because they kept charging me for different things, I received another random invoice for over 5k. When I reached out to him to simply asked why I was being billed again, he replied and told me that if I didn't want to pay he was withdrawing the case. He never answered my question and he just continued to be rude and condescending whenever I would speak to him. When I sent him paperwork that I felt would help my case - he replied and told me not to send him anymore documents. I will leave it right here and say that he lost my case and didn't even care. Him and Peter said they would get back to me to discuss it further and none of them got back to me. Based on the reviews - it seems they are only interested and helpful when it is regarding a gun case. I don't recommend them and the way I was treated for the last five years was horrible. Not once did he ever reach out to me with an update. Lastly, the way I was treated was unprofessional and definitely UNACCEPTABLE!

I put in a dispute with my credit card company and unfortunately, I lost the dispute. The credit card company said that because i agreed to a nonrefundable trip, I could not get my money back. I knew that this was illegal business practices as the merchant broke the contract then refused to refund me. I contacted Ronald Cook law firm for help. His assistant advised me to send him an email with all details of the case. I sent the email as instructed by his assistant before I spoke to Mr Cook. His office scheduled a call to have a conversation with Mr Cook. I thought that we were going to go over the details of the case based on my email. Before we even talked Mr cook had drafted me a Demand Letter for Refund with all the details from my email. We then spoke on the phone about the letter, and he sent and told me what to do. He said to send the letter to the merchant and the credit card company. The one thing that stood out to me was when he told me "DONT GIVE UP, you have to FIGHT". He gave me confidence I needed and felt he had my back. We only talked on the phone for maybe 30 mins and I left the phone call feeling so good about having the tools to get me results. I followed Mr Cooks instructions and waited. Within 15 days the credit card company re-investigated the dispute and they refunded me all the money. Without that Demand Letter that he drafted for me I would not have had the success in getting my funds back. I can't thank Mr. Cook enough for being so efficient and getting me the results I needed without dragging the situation out. Just be patient, listen and you will Win. He will be my go to now if i ever need legal intervention for anything in the future. Thank so much Mr Cook.

I sought legal representation for a Family Court custody matter because I wanted an attorney who would be prepared, communicate with me, and advocate for my position. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Just wanted him to do a cross, and speak for me because I was so tired. He first said he couldn't take my case and then later did, so I was excited. I would get some rest, some peace finally and be able to focus on my son and I. Before court, I repeatedly instructed him not to disclose new information because I believed it was unnecessary to the issues before the Court and could complicate my case given previous appearance in which this had happened. That was the one instruction I repeatedly gave him. It was the condition of him representing me. During the hearing, the judge asked only two questions. Instead of answering those questions. He disclosed new information not pertinent to the question. We had not thoroughly reviewed my proposal before court despite having the opportunity to do so. He also did not provide the Attorney for the Child with my written proposal beforehand, despite my understanding that it had been requested. I was surprised that he answered questions about my proposal without first confirming the details with me. From my perspective, he was not adequately prepared for the appearance and should have let me speak my proposal. Everything that came out of his mouth was false, or inaccurate. When I attempted to get his attention because he was disclosing the one piece of information I had repeatedly asked him not to disclose, he raised his voice to me in open court. Afterward, he continued yelling in public courthouse hallway were others could hear. Berating me so everyone in the courtroom could hear. The exchange became loud enough that a court officer instructed him to lower his voice. Instead of explaining why he believed this info needed to be disclosed or discussing a change in legal strategy, and going directly against my request and attorney client confidentiality, the focus shifted to blaming me. I was repeatedly told that I was "challenging," "difficult," and "my own worst enemy." The exact same things the AFC And child's father put on record when I don't sit quietly and do as they say even if it's unjust. They say I'm victimizing, that was not the professional guidance, communication, or advocacy I expected from my attorney during one of the most important custody hearings involving my child. Another concern was that I paid a consultation fee and an additional payment toward representation, yet I never received or signed a written retainer agreement despite discussions about representation yet he accepted it and appeared in court. Overall, my experience was marked by what I believe was malpractice, inadequate preparation, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment. I left the hearing believing that my position had not been accurately presented to the Court and that the issues the judge asked about were overshadowed by information I had specifically instructed my attorney not to disclose. He intentionally delayed the case so my son's father could get custody, and child support again and would pay him off and the AFC could prolong the case. In addition he was seen speaking with the apposing party without their attorney twice. I can only assume for backhanded dealings and would explain his behavior to repeat exactly what the opposition was presenting about me to me during his public berating of me so loudly for those in the court room to hear. This review reflects my personal experience. Others may have a different one, but based on mine, I would not hire this attorney. He is a disgusting human being. May God have mercy on him, his poor mother and those around him.
