First and foremost, when looking for a lawyer read reviews even the bad ones because you will be left wondering if you made a good decision picking this lawyer. I hired Jayson well over a year ago and needless to say in the beginning during our first consultation he portrayed himself as someone who was going to help you and gave me and my wife hope. My wifes ex husband dragged us into court for a year and half over summer visitation with their daughter. Jay told us we need to train her ex husband like a dog. As funny as it may seem, he was as quiet as a mouse in court. Made side deals with the opposing counsel, negotiated our contributions from 25% to 34% knowingly we were below poverty lines and my wife was unemployed and in school full-time and I made under 40K a year. Whilst her ex made over 100K - do the math it doesn't make any sense. Because we were in court almost every month racked up over 10K in lawyer fees. I realise this is how it works, the lawyers work together to prolong the court cases to squeeze every dollar out of you - Hence why the Judge only looked at the petition after 8 court cases and not in the beginning. The nail in the coffin for me and my wife was when Jay sent me an invoice for his services to fill out a piece of paper for $350 - we managed to find a non profit who had a lawyer looked it over and fill out for free. And once we returned the letter to Jay, his response was that I owe him for his services because he went behind our back and colluded with the opposing counsel and made a deal. It broke our trust. In addition, I paid for court appearances and he didn't show up on two occasions. I would rather wash my hands from this lawyer than contest with overpaying for his service. We terminated his services in front of the Judge and got ourselves a free attorney because of my income. If you fall in the same boat of low income, I advise you to ask for a free lawyer in court - know your rights trust me. This is a review, my personal experience with Jayson. You get what you pay for! I've been in the process of my UNCONTESTED divorce for SIX months and counting. The court has sent the papers back three times for corrections. If Mr. Lutzky and his team were competent, the papers would've been done correctly the first time. I continue to follow with their office and the court to make sure everything is in order because things seem to fall through the cracks. By way of example, last week someone "forgot" to take my papers in to the court and I had to wait another week... UNACCEPTABLE! I deeply regret taking my mom to this attorney. He's extremely insentive and offensive. His response to everything is "I don't care". He will cut you off mid sentence. Today I went in to my scheduled appointment with Jayson Lutzky for a divorce I am looking to proceed with and I had high expectations based on high reviews from different websites. After coming in today the receptionist started off very unprofessional and unorganized. I gave her the information she asked for but upon asking for my social security number which I refused she began to get an attitude because I did not provide that information for her. I do not give out my social unless I am actually hiring him as my lawyer which I explained to her. She then got up went to the back of the office and while walking there she started cursing in Spanish saying the word stupid (which I know b/c I am Cuban) and she came back with her supervisor. I explained to her supervisor what I told the receptionist and the receptionist interrupted her supervisor and said listen lady your acting crazy just give my the social. I said no and asked her to lower her voice. Then Jayson L came to the front of the office to see what was happening and the receptionist stormed out the office saying "Stupid Bitch" in Spanish. I told Jayson L that this is unprofessional behavior and how can I conduct an interview with his offices issues. Jayson L then told me " Maybe you should find another lawyer" within in seconds of meeting me and did not offer an apology or reassurance to me.
