For more invasive treatments, you have to go to one of the Charlotte locations. Thankfully one of them is just off 485, about 10-15 minutes from the Concord office. I am so glad I was referred to this office. The doctors are excellent and the staff are so friendly. I highly recommend this practice to anyone that needs this type of support. Dr. Thakur is amazing. Care that is IMO as a health-care provider myself, bordering on dangerous, coupled with unethical and likely illegal billing practices.

The only upside was that I had to wait 2 months for an open appointment. When I went to the office for my appointment I only had to wait 5 minutes until the nurse called back. Once I was in my room my appointment lasted for about 30 minutes total which was amazing! This was my first time seeing an African American doctor and she was awesome! She asked lots of questions about me personally and answered all of the questions that I had! Both times I went to the office my wait was 5 minutes or less which is amazing for a doctor's office! They utilize something called myportal which allows you to have e-visits with your doctor, have access to all of your exams/blood work. Super convenient having all of your information in one place! The only downside is that I didn't know I was going to have blood work done so I had to come back a week later since I didn't fast.

So he shuffles me over to Dr. Haines. One aspect of my treatment is that no doctor wishes to view my issues for their complexity. Every doctor decides "It's the left hip!", as the only one with a replacement, and ignores the rest. Marvelous. Same thing here but cool, we try again. Haines is okay, except she seems highly disorganized. She promised to call after she viewed my xrays. She did not. Still haven't heard from her. I insisted that small bore MRIs aren't something I can use(nobody should, they're horrible), large bore or open MRIs only. She promised she would take care of that. She did not. Some scheduler called to set me up with a small bore and I refused, told her I explicitly told the doctor no small bore. The scheduler said she wasn't informed of that. So she transfers me somewhere for an Open MRI that ends up being in Rock Hill SC. Surely there is an Open MRI or large bore inside Charlotte. In fact, a search shows there are 5 or 6. So why, pray tell, am I being forced to drive to SC for an MRI? Not only that but some other scheduler is leaving me messages for an MRA appointment....but the return call number rings four times and hangs up. So how many schedulers did Dr Haines set me up with? What is going on here? None of the schedulers even know who ordered the MRI or the difference between large and small bore MRIs. Yes, I could use The Magical Portal I guess, though even my husband is sick of having to invent new passwords every time he tries to use it since the old ones disappear. At this point, I'd have 7-10 portals to juggle which I refuse to do. If someone wants to pay me to input patient information into some off-sight database where it can be hacked or shared with multitudes, they can do that. I get the feeling that Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute Sports Medicine really doesn't want me as a patient. I was hoping for an alternative to The Bone Yard of OrthCarolina but sadly this is not it. Wish we had access to a teaching hospitals and practices like Duke and Bowman-Grey, in Charlotte, rather than these hedge fund managed clinics.

She told me she would check me in at my scheduled time and to take a seat in the waiting area (suggesting the family waiting area). I decided I would wait in the patient waiting area as I was not confident she would remember I was there. Another patient came in and she rudely told her to come back in 5 minutes because she was on her lunch break and would not be checking anyone in until 1 PM. Without a beat she turned back to her phone and continued watching her phone. She was so rude. What a poor representation of this office! I say that because as soon as you get called back your experience changes. Everyone from the CNA who takes your vitals and blood sugar to the nurses and MD in the procedure through post procedure are all AMAZING. Everyone of them are professional yet so personable. They tell you what to expect as you are in the procedure and do a great job with the discharge instructions. The nurse even calls to check on you the next day! Now, that is excellent care and support! Dr Thakur is excellent. I highly recommend him for both in office evaluation and for your procedure. I feel 100% safe with Dr. Thakur's expertise. I would not go anywhere else. Don't let your front office experience alter your opinion of the care you will get when it really matters.

This was my second visit and I paid my $10 copay before but my prescription came first today. Not to mention I've been experiencing homelessness since February 23rd 2024. But THE LORD helps me to keep up with my health and appointments. Excellent surgeon who took good care of my wife and her knee…read more We first started going to this practice back around 2004 when Dr. Barron's partner, David Holmsley did a knee replacement me. Last year, he did a hip replacement and we were very pleased with the care and outcome from both procedures. This is a practice with three doctors. Dr. Barron specializes on Arthroscopic Surgery of the knees, Dr. Holmsley specializes on joint replacement and Dr. Valentine specializes on the Hands. Back before Christmas, my wife hyper extended her knee and was in a great deal of pain. We met with Dr. Holmsley and he ordered an MRI and referred us to his associate Dr. Barron because this was the area he specialized in. MRI was done before Christmas and while she could have gotten in to see Dr. Barron on the day after Christmas, she was flying to Pittsburgh at that time and the next available appointment was around Jan 8th. We met with Dr. Barron and he had reviewed the MRI and the conclusion was that she had three tears in the medial meniscus plus some arthritis in the joint as well. He gave her the option of arthroscopic surgery or doing nothing in the long shot that it would heal on it's own which was unlikely. Needless to say, we chose the obvious surgery. He wanted to do it the following week but a bed was not available at the Surgery Center till the 20th. 20th came and we were first and were there at 6 am, Surgery was at 7 am but they did take her a few minutes early. By 9:30, we were checking out and heading back to Cornelius. Since then progress has been very quick and we are very pleased with the outcome. The following Monday she started Physical Therapy and is recovering strength in the knee quickly. We went back yesterday and they took the stitches out and showed my wife the pictures they had taken of the damaged tissue. She still has some swelling and bruising from the surgery but that is improving daily. Next appointment is in just over a month just prior to our trip to Israel. Very professional and great Doctor and glad my wife was in such good hands. Would recommend this practice to anyone.
