Long story but the basic questions we needed answering on a property were not answered but we trusted Ashby Lowry. Then just 4 days before our rental was due to commence they withdrew the property - we were not even telephoned, just emailed with no apology or offer of alternative rental. Would NEVER do business with these agents and recommend you don't either.

Lived in this company's home for 2 years, and it was the worst experience. When we moved in we was…read moretold to write down anything that was broken so we wouldn't be charged for it when getting back our deposit. Many times throughout those 2 years our boiler stopped working leaving us with no hot water and heating they refused to build in a new boiler and when bothered gave it a quick fix. Most of the furniture was cheap, old or already broken. For instance whilst living there a sofa broke due to wear and tear, when we asked our landlord how long the sofa has been in the house he explained 4-5 years, (it was bound to break) & we were made to pay for that out of our deposit. The deposit they were so hesitant to give back in the first place! They also do not abide by their legal contract as it states that anyone who comes in the house has to give us 24 hour notice, but they just came in and out as they pleased and we have on occasion received verbal abuse from their employees (family). The employees did not conduct themselves in a professional manner especially, the receptionist GERALDINE; she was extremely rude, condescending and she very rarely passed on concerns that we had within the house. We sadly felt the consequences of the neglectful business and dismissive employees. I would not recommend any students to live at any properties this company is advertising, university life is already stressful as it is and to be completely taken advantage of by people you live for and give your money to does not help.
