I was informed today that not only will have to split up my children but one would attend Kishwaukee in Garden Prairie where we live and have for 8 years and the other would be sent to Perry in Belvidere. This is the second year that they have been full and we have to make other arrangements. Mean while we are two working parents just barely making the 6 pm pick up for after school care which I was told not to worry the one in Perry can be bused to Kishwaukee. I called the district office to avail they said it could not be done and both kids could possibly go to Perry. I am not knocking Perry, but it is easier for us to attend the school in the town where we reside. So I have to break my 2nd graders heart by telling him he can not go to school with his friends. I think we need to be told that when we register if it is late we might have to attend a different school and what about all the supplies I have purchased to I need to get additional things or different things for this new school? Also not but 3 days ago I was sent a letter for the busing and it lists Kishwaukee as the point of drop off and pick up for the bus so when did this get decided. I think if you live in Garden Prairie you should go to your home school.

For several reasons I was holding off on the driving portion, which for any other driving school is fine. I was told from drivers edge that the state would "revoke" my child's permit if it wasn't done; totally false information - after speaking to 2 other driving schools and the DMV. The SCHOOL is the one who revokes the permit. This was a bullying tactic to get my child in within the timeframe so drivers edge could get their money. The horrid office person, Rachel, was one of the most rude, ignorant people I've ever dealt with, and I've been in customer service for many, many years. She refused to give me the number to the state person she told me does the revoking (because she was obviously lying.) Tim, the owner, was very nice and really tried to work things out, but after dealing with such a nasty person that he employs I just couldn't give any more of my hard earned money to support her paycheck. After I told him this and that I was going to take my child to finish up elsewhere, he actually started bad mouthing another driving school. I never told him who I spoke with, but it was the one he was putting down, and the shame is that the other school said not one bad thing about drivers edge. They just gave me the facts that the state doesn't revoke permits, it's either the driving school or the high school (for extremely poor grades.) My advice is ask if they will revoke your child's permit if they don't complete the course within 9 months, because it seems this is the only driving school with this policy. Also, go with someone who appreciates you as a customer and you want to support, not people who lie and are rude.
