Updated 6/2026: The dual capacitor on our main floor condenser unit went out the other day, likely due it trying to kick on right as a power outage occurred due to a storm; we heard it happen. It worked for about a day and then the next morning we awoke to the condenser fan running but not compressor action; the dual-cap was shot, and the temperature in our house was raising quickly during the heat wave. We called Beluga and Jason was at our house within a few hours. Replaced dual-cap with higher quality replacement and our A/C was replaced before we had time to be stressed about it going out! Jason was awesome, authentic, and communicative. Our third transaction with Beluga, and we've been pleased with all of them. Maybe 4 stars for total charge being on the high range, but sticking with 5 for excellent quick same-day service. 4.5 rounded up to 5! 2026: Called Beluga for regular HVAC preventative maintenance and to have additional safety shutoffs installed in attic unit. Water was found leaking from the flue leaving the inducer outlet. I was not happy with the technician's expertise, practices, or knowledge while troubleshooting the water problem, nor did I have confidence the problem was fixed after a limited effort to get the water to stop leaking temporarily. The next day, the furnace was not working due to ignition lockout error codes and the flue was still leaking from when the furnace would run for a short time. I believe that something was damaged while the tech aggressively checked for leaks of the inducer, blaming it on a missing screw that was not in fact missing. So I was NOT happy with the service provided in this initial visit and it would've rated a 0-star review. HOWEVER, once speaking with Billy the owner and communicating the situation, he sent Erich on two visits to fix the leak, replace the inducer motor, and the electronic control board with no charge to me. After these visits, everything was restored to working order and the customer service I received recovering from the intial frustating encounter was beyond excellent. Service snafus are going to happen from time to time. How they are handled I believe is really how a company should be rated, and Beluga handled my problems amazingly. My two other encounters in 2025 and just recently, along with how this was handled, allows me to comfortably rate Beluga with 5 stars even after the failed service visit. Prior service from 2025: Billy, Donnie G., and the whole Beluga team were great dealing with my leaking heat exchanger. Donnie was prompt, communicative, knowledgeable, and forthright with what the possible issues, scenarios, and fixes could be. We had to do a return visit to fully fix the problem, but this was well understood by me from the get-go that it might be necessary and overall thought the cost of the total repair was reasonable. It was nice to have a contractor in the home that I felt I could trust and knew what he was doing. I would recommend Beluga for your HVAC needs. Thanks, guys! read more

My mini split Fujitsu AC stopped blowing cold air about a month ago. I looked up a local AC service company to service it. I found Beluga AC and Electrical in Brewster, NY. When I called they set up service for the next day which is today Friday July 18th. The technician arrived promptly at 10am. So far so good. I had to take my car for service so I told them my wife would be home. The technician arrived and saw that the AC was working but not blowing cold air. He spent about an hour trying to figure out what was going on. I was at the car shop but watched him on my home cameras. It seemed to me he did not know what he was doing. I saw the technician call someone on his phone and stood over the AC as though he was puzzled. I called my wife and asked how it was going and told her that I am watching and the technician seems lost. She stated to me that this man did not seem to know what he was doing. I finally got home at about 12pm. The tech was still working on it with the motherboard exposed. I introduced myself and asked him how it was going? He stated that the unit needed a new control board, but that he did not know if it might also be the condenser. First he says that it could be one or the other, then both. Then he says it could be the controller board, but that there is no guarantee that it will not break down again if he replaces it at a $2k cost . Then he says incorrectly that the unit is not connected to the circuit breaker. I knew he was wrong, but I patiently waited for him to finish. I then told him that it was connected to the circuit breaker and that I was not going to buy the $2k controller board (my wife told me he quoted her $3k) and he then suggested that we could get a new unit for about $8k. I again told him no thanks and told him we would pay him the diagnostic fee of $122. as his office told me yesterday. He said he would call his office. Then he comes back in the house and says the fee is $457. We gave him a check because that's who we are, I guess stupid... Uggg. We don't like confrontation. I called their office at 3:15pm and complained and that it was supposed to be a $122. fee to come and diagnose the ac. The man on the phone immediately put me on speaker phone. Now, they said that the dispatch fee is $122. and the diagnostic fee is additional. I told them that they should have said this when I first called. Then my next question was what is wrong with the unit? I stated that I was no better off than when I called them the first time. I know the unit doesn't blow out cold air, I could have told them that myself and I did. The gist of all this is that We feel we were robbed. The company sent a Tech that was in over his head and did not know what he was doing, and they still charged us $457. It's a scam, and now the unit doesn't start at all. I also want to say that the Technician had to go multiple times the circuit breaker to turn the unit on and off, which proves that the unit was working and he most likely was the one who short circuited the controller board. I thought that going with a local family company would be best and it only bit me in the wallet. We will eat this expense, but we will never recommend this company to anyone. Had a less-than stellar experience with another company so I asked the guys that deliver my heating oil for a recommendation. They recommended Beluga, so I gave them a shot and they delivered. I needed my fill alarm whistle on my oil tank replaced, and a blowout of the line. The first place I called didn't seem to care much; I had to call several times just to get a service date set up. They didn't seem to care or understand the problem I explained to them. They just showed up, said they couldn't fix it that day and told me to call back. Useless. Beluga was the opposite. I was greeted by a friendly rep on the first call and get an appointment set up right away. He took notes on the issue and passed them along to his technical team. Here's where the big difference was - I actually got a call from an experienced tech who knew which questions to ask to figure out exactly what I needed. They then sent two knowledgeable techs who were well prepared, personable, and thoroughly answered all of my questions before during and after they did the work. They were efficient and finished much earlier than anticipated, which also kept my cost below quote. Great experience, will definitely call them again if/when I have more heating/cooling needs. read more

Horrible experience they are over priced they sent an apprentice to do the work of a mechanic. He was totally overwhelmed doing work on a hot water tank and water reserve tank for well. He started at 9am by 3pm still had no water kept calling the office to send help it took awhile before someone came but they never stayed they were in and out. Finished the reserve tank then he starts the hot water tank he ends up moving it over from the original spot. Then he has help but they could not set the right pressure for the jet pump they were setting it for 70 psi if they knew what they were doing the pressure was to be set at 55psi. Because of this screw up the pump kept on running. Now they kept on making phone calls because they had no idea what was going on. They end up leaving about 6pm the pump runs from 7pm till 10pm I call service and tell them what a waste. 3 days later the stop flow safety feature on the hot water tank goes off now I have no hot water. I call them they send the apprentice back omg buy that time I dry off the sensor and try to reset unit it works. I tell the worker I want to speak to the owner and I want the sensor changed he says ok what happens nothing. Next day Mothers Day the pump starts running overnight still running at 10am I go downstairs and shut off switch. I call PFBeal the well guys they come for emergency service drain the reserve tank 2times set the pressure at the right setting which is 55psi they saved me big time. Call beluga office tell them I want to speak to Billy the owner nothing no call everyone plays pass interference I guess he is too good for everyone. Crazy thing I was referred to them by a good friend they screwed me and took advantage of my good nature never again do urself a favor don't use this company go with someone who you can trust overpriced big time If I could leave no stars I would!!!!!!!!!!! read more
