When I arrived at 1:50 PM, there were balloons and a sign taped to the door that read, "Closed for VIP Event," but I opened the door and entered the lobby anyway. Renee the Receptionist asked, "Can I help you?" I told her I was there for my 2:00 PM appointment. Renee then asked me for my name and my phone number. Renee went into her computer, looked confused, tried to hand me a clipboard, and asked me to fill out the three pages of information I filled out a month ago. I decided to leave and write this review, and if it were possible to do so, I would give the Indiana Hearing Aid Company zero stars for administrative incompetence.

I have been going to Indiana Hearing Aid Company for a decade or more. I started with them at…read moretheir East Washington Street location. When another office opened on Shadeland Avenue, I followed them to their new office. Please do note, as of this typing, both locations are still open. The company in itself is a good company which is why I have stayed with them. They appear to only hire the best. Whenever I call and the call is answered off site, it has always been answered by the same people. Aside from the time I was first seen many years ago, Matt Morris and Angie Morris have been there the entire time. Their products are top notch. They have a wide range of products and prices. If you want a basic, no-frills hearing aid--you've got it! If you want a top of the line hearing aid, they have it. If you want to accessorize your hearing aide, they can assist with that too! My hearing loss is pretty severe and I never cease to be amazed at the magic that they can work. Of course, nobody loves wearing hearing aids, however; by going to Matt and Angie, I guarantee that you will not mind it. They will work diligently to not only find the right product for you, but it will fit very well. I have been fitted with a hearing aid that other professionals are in absolute awe--with my hearing loss, a smaller aid is generally not conducive to me, however; with time and patience, I was able to be fit with an invisible hearing aid. When I go to an ENT or Audiologist, they often forget that I wear the devices because I was able to be fit so well. Their office is absolutely not a pressure driven, high sales tactic environment. Nowhere that I have gone is more accommodating than Matt and Angie at Indiana Hearing Aid Company. They are honest and take their patient's best interest to heart. You are not nickel and dimed here. There are some companies that you go to that will tell you that your hearing aid needs a $500 repair whereas, it truly only needs a good cleaning or a piece of wax removed. I trust this company and Matt and Angie 100%. Their hearing tests are comprehensive so that they can see what is best for you. When they see where your hearing lies, they give you a choice of all of the products and will be honest in their recommendations. They are not about simply dollars and cents, they are about helping you hear better. Their turnaround times are phenomenal. If something gets sent in on a Monday, it is not unheard of for it to be back in my hands the same week. Their office flexibility and shipping times are second to none. I have recommended family members to Matt and Angie at Indiana Hearing Aid Company. Since they have gone other places, they are able to compare, however; there really was no comparison. My mother (whom I referred) was shocked at the level of detailed service and expertise that she receives compared to the company where she previously was fitted. They did so much more in terms of fitting and testing that my mother did not know that existed. If I could rate this company higher, I would. I strongly recommend not only Indiana Hearing Aid Company, but also Matt and Angie. If you are on the market for hearing aids, do consider stopping by--at least for a complimentary hearing test and a meet and greet--you will not be disappointed.

Upon arrival, I again ask about Medicare and having to pay for the visit, again I was told I would not be billed. 15 days later, I get a bill for $120 for my part of the visit. I called the billing and explained it to them. I was told I owed $120. I paid the $120 for a hearing test they talked me into, and I could have gotten free most places, and for the ear exam. Since I maintain a 820 credit score, I did not want to take a chance on having a blemish from these clowns on my file. This place is a joke in my opinion, be certain before you go you know what's up here! I'll never be back and cancelled my next appointment they automatically set up.

Once I arrived - I gave the front desk my paperwork and insurance info and was told to sit while they reviewed things. My appointment time came and went although 3 patients went back. After waiting 20 minutes past my time and zero communication, I went to ask what the delay was. The woman said her audiologist was running behind. No communication as to when I was going to get to see the doctor. I would have loved to stay - but what level of quality do you get after the doctor is behind and you need a consult as to how you will doeal with tinnitus and hearing loss? Not a quality situation for a place that expects payments upfront.
