The clinic itself is very nice, with pleasant staff, and Dr. Shirbani was helpful and gracious, providing a referral to a specialist if needed. However, my experience was marred by a subsequent interaction with a receptionist on Saturday, July 12th, at 9:05 am, who was difficult, unfriendly, unempathetic, and rude. I had concerns regarding my wisdom tooth and was seeking a brief consultation with the doctor, but the receptionist was unaccommodating, suggesting I book an appointment instead. Upon calling back to ask a question, I was informed that the doctor recommended I visit a specialist, which was not relevant to my concern about my wisdom tooth. I was extremely disappointed by the receptionist's behavior, which was a stark contrast to the helpful and compassionate service I received the previous day. As a paying patient, I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, my experience was subpar, and I would not recommend this dental clinic to anyone in Canada. I have traveled extensively and lived in various places, and this was the most disappointing experience I've had. I called back to address the unprofessional behavior, but my call was not returned. I hope the clinic will take steps to address the discriminatory behavior and provide better service to their patients

I saw both Dr Jozef Labedzki and Dr Ming Liu at this dental clinic and both are equally good. My…read morefriend recommended Dr Liu when I was lamenting about finding a good dentist in Vancouver. My previous dentist is no longer practising and the two dentists I saw at two different clinics were not very good in diagnosing. So I fractured my molar and the receptionist managed to fit me in for an emergency consultation with Dr Liu. Kudos to that. I had a CT scan done and it looked like a root canal would be required and maybe an implant if the tooth could not be saved. Dr Liu referred me to Dr Labedzki as his schedule was packed and the next available time he had would be a week later. Dr Labedzki also took a look at my molar on the same day and took an additional x-ray (at no extra charge to me) for a detailed diagnosis. From the scan and x-ray, he had the same opinion as Dr Liu - likely root canal plus a crowning. I have a phobia of implant after my last experience a few years ago. I saw Dr Labedzki a couple of days later for the procedure and he took the time to properly freeze the affected area so that the pain would be minimized. In the end, a root canal was not required as it was not affected after all. A temporary restoration was done to the molar after the fractured part was removed and he recommended to do a crowning at a later date to protect the tooth better. Through my experience with both dentists, I find that they do put the patients' teeth first and will try to save it. They also do not charge extra or unnecessary items (maybe because I do not have insurance coverage) and I appreciate that. So yes, I have finally found a dentist whom I can go to for regular check up now.

During that time, I heard very loud voices in the next room. By the time, Dr. Ting came in, nearly 40 min had past! I was not happy. She proceeded to make small talk and asked about my summer plans. They did not have proper equipment to do a simple x-ray for my 6 year old daughter. Dr. Ting ended up filling a front tooth that wasn't causing any pain and had given me "the impression" that she had also filled the molar that was causing her pain. We went home thinking that the cause of the pain was fixed. The following day, my daughter's molar was still painful. My wife took my daughter back to Dr. Suzanne Ting to find out what happened. Surprisingly, Dr. Ting could not find why my daughter was still in pain. My wife had to personally show her the molar cavity, which should have been obvious to any dentist. It was certainly obvious in our unqualified eyes. When my wife showed Dr. Ting the cavity, she finally saw what she had missed during the first visit. Again, this was shocking since we had paid $50 for an examination, plus $200 for two fillings. It turns out that she had only done one filling, but actually charged me for two fillings. After much debate, Dr. Ting gave in and refunded $100 of the $250 we had originally paid because the filling in the back had not been done. This was still frustrating because my daughter's original reason for seeing Dr. Ting was to fix the molar pain. $150 down the tubes. Now, I have to take my daughter to another dentist since Dr. Ting does not have the proper x-ray equipment for children. Dr. Ting should have been honest with me in the first place. Then, I would have taken my daughter to a real dentist. Take a look at negative reviews of Mega Dental! My recommendation: DO NOT go to Mega Dental or Dr. Suzanne Ting.

After looking at the overwhelming number of dentists in the Vancouver area I found Victoria and 54th Dental, their prices seemed reasonable and they offered 50$ off your first procedure if you were uninsured. I had Dr Ting and she was wonderful, made sure I knew the minimal risks of getting dental work in my state and was very up front with the costs. I went in knowing I was looking at a root canal and capping which would be $1500-2000 min, Dr Ting was able to clean up the tooth and fill it for only $200, getting me out of pain and giving me time to do the major work after the baby which is what I was hoping for. She did a great job and I'm so happy I went with this dental group and I feel confident in them doing a great job without overcharging me. They didn't even charge me for the assessment appointment as I knew what needed to be done, they just charged me for the work they did. I'll be back to do the remainder of the work on my tooth and I'm happy to recommend this office, super friendly staff, and this dentist to anyone. Note, the office is old as is some of the equipment but the dentists and hygienists know their craft and isn't that what you want overall in a dental group.

It's somewhat embarrassing, but ever since I had a couple of very bad experiences with dentists and dental work, I've been afraid of going to the dentist. So, I was so happy the first time I went to see Dr. Chan because of a cavity but he was so gentle with the freezing injection, that I didn't even feel it. That was a first for me. Since then, he always has the best way of relating to his patients with respect, kindness, understanding and positivity. He knows I have a difficult time with dental work and through every procedure, he lets me know what he is going to do. Sort of like a play-by-play through the whole procedure. So, when all is said and done with any procedure I've had with him, I come away feeling very grateful and appreciative of Dr. Chan's lovely approach to dentistry and his patients because he has always put me at ease and more relaxed than I've ever been when having dental work done.

Very demeaning and unpleasant experience at this clinic. The…read morereceptionist (NOT THE ONE IN THE PICTURES - middle aged, Caucasian, brown blonde hair) is disrespectful and demeaning to clients. When I had booked my and my husbands first appointments I asked if they would provide an ESTIMATE of the out of pocket cost (after insurance coverage) and she said yes. On the day of the appointment she ridiculed me in front of her colleague (the younger receptionist you see in the photo's) and another client waiting in the waiting room. Saying "I can't tell you what you will pay, don't you know anything about your own insurance?" I explained she told me over the phone that they could provide an estimate - she knew it was her. The hygienist - Angie/Anita (or something close to that) was absolutely wonderful. She calmed my nerves and listened to my concerns and was very gentle during the cleaning. I found Dr. Norman Wong to be the opposite. He didn't listen to my concerns and was only interested in covering up his poor chair-side manner with stupid jokes. I asked him what we could do about the discoloration on the front right tooth (I had a filling in that tooth many years ago and it was becoming dark). He said all he could do was polish the tooth but that was all. I thought that was a bit strange, but since he said that was my only option I agreed to do it.I also had a chip on the front left tooth and was told the only thing we could do was to fill the bottom in and I agreed to that, made an appointment to get both done. He didn't go into much detail about either option. All he did was literally buff the surface of the tooth that was turning brown - the tooth was now shiny, but still discolored. I was pretty mad at myself for allowing this guy to talk me into such a stupid "solution" and paying for that! The filling chipped/ broke off within 10 days. 6 months or so later I had the next cleaning, I had the same hygienist. She asked me about the issues we'd discussed the first time and I told her that I was not happy about the options and service provided by Dr. Wong. She told me that he could re-do the filling so the dark filling would be removed and re-filled, resulting in a white (tooth like) appearance again. I wasn't happy that Dr. Wong did not give me this option the first time. When Dr. Wong came in to follow up as they always do, I asked what we could do about the discoloration and mentioned that the previous time he stated that polishing was the only thing to do. He seemed very annoyed at my asking and being unhappy with the polishing. He said well the only thing that can be done is to re-do the filling - with a very short, irritated attitude. To which I stated well then let's do it - in kind. For the rest of the consultation he spoke to the hygienist, didn't ask if I have any questions (which I did have) and just walked out without even greeting me... Angie/Anita walked me out and handed a sticky note to the male female receptionist, who was busy and didn't notice. I went to the male receptionist who printed our invoices and settled the bill. I told him I have to make an appointment and the other receptionist had the sticky note, but I would need to check my schedule and get back to them. He was professional and kind. I told my husband what happened and he insisted we go back and see if the Dr. could discuss other options (even if we had to wait for a while) like braces, to straighten my teeth because we think problem is that the discolored tooth was skew and positioned in such a way that made discoloration inevitable even if we re-filled the tooth. When we got there I asked the receptionist if she could refer us to an orthodontist, she was alone in front now. She said Dr. Wong is an orthodontist and he would be happy to discuss all my options at my next visit. She implied that I was rude to have left without booking the appointment as discussed with the Dr. I told her I had spoken to her colleague and that I needed to get back to them. We asked to see the Dr. as it would impact the appointment, we'd gladly wait. She said I should've asked all my questions during my appointment, I would need to book another appointment. I told her the Dr. walked out without giving me the opportunity to ask further questions. She said that I had clearly agreed upon a treatment so if I wanted to speak to him I could make an appointment for another day. My husband said we just wanted to make sure what all the options were and explained why we thought there could be more options. I showed her the tooth in question and she started arguing that I had discussed the wrong tooth with the Dr. as the sticky note was for a different tooth and raised her voice at me. I calmly told her there can't be a re-filling on a tooth that doesn't have a filling. Alas, we were were turned away and left without seeing the Dr. I've cancelled my next cleaning - still hurt and disappointed.
