Conveniently located on the GF in the Well in Camberwell next to Coles, Rainbow Meats offers a broad range of fresh and delicious products. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable. Rainbow's pricing is quite reasonable - you'd be able to pick up a massive piece of chicken for about $4 and a juicy Porterhouse Steak will cost you about $7. In addition to the plain traditional steaks, chicken breast, thighs, lamb rack, cutlets, sausages, angus burger patties etc; they also offer chicken breast marinated in breadcrumbs, sweet chilli pork meatballs (which look very tasty), kebabs and heaps more. If you're a Camberwell local or reside around the area, make sure to pay them a visit and have a look at what they have. It's worth it and, if you decide you like them and see yourself coming back, don't forget to get one of their loyalty cards. It allows you to earn points and redeem them for discounts later on.

When we finally got to the front the lists of customer orders took up the back wall. There's a reason why this butcher is constantly busy. The quality of the meat that is sourced locally (be it chicken or pork) is exceptional and the prices are very reasonable. The Bouchiers of Balwyn also boast a long list of specialties including delicious slavinks, beef racks, Peking duck and more. They also do the most phenomenal pork racks. They are also able to prepare particular cuts and products for special occasions all year round, just give them plenty of notice. Service is brilliant and the team is efficient and friendly and their ability to work under the pressure of events like Christmas is testament to their skills as professionals. I have been buying meat from the Bouchiers of Balwyn for years and am always impressed with the quality and prices and never disappointed by the product or service.

You can buy dairy products from Schultz, bread from the likes of Zealey Bay, dips from Pilpel, icecream from Gundowing and don't even get me started on the chocolate selection... I always need to avoid that aisle lest I throw 100 bars of Simon Coll 70% cocoa in my basket. It's a great place to stock up on all your favourite epicurean delights while also grabbing those boring household essentials. The wine and booze selection is adequate if you desperately need something but don't expect to find unusual bottles here. This is the one area that doesn't seem to have been blessed with the same attention to detail.

Online meat order from my phone…read more So I have been looking for a butcher that I don't have to traipse all over town to get good quality meat from at a reasonable price (including delivery fee). Minimum order is $80 for free delivery, I noticed that they do meat packs which were very inclusive for a family of two and cost $80 because we don't really eat fish or sausages I passed on this option. Depending on your location also depends on when free delivery is available. You can have it delivered any day of the week if you wish, but outside of your "free" day it is $20. Being an organic butcher it isn't the cheapest meat around but you don't go to an organic butcher for cheap meat. I ended up spending about $87 for chicken, mince, a beautiful rib eye steak, beef bones and sauerkraut from the deli section. They also offer to box your meat with a cooler pack so it can be left at your front door if need be. My delivery was on Saturday, and I got a text about 9am telling me to expect delivery at 11.30, I replied and asked them to leave it at the front door. Later in the morning I got a pxt showing me that the package had been delivered and where it was left. Overall a very exceptional online service! Now to get off the couch and cook it.

The prices on display seemed to be a little higher then the supermarket, but in return you can expect far superior quality and taste. The service is fast and friendly and the shop clean and well lit. Also you can hire a spit for your next event, but if you need one for Christmas, book ahead.
