Perhaps not as cheap as some other markets but excellent quality produce and not as busy as you would expect on Saturdays.

Greengrocers, fishmongers, florists and enormous delis are just some of the things you'll find inside. I recommend getting in early (around 9am) and just taking a walk. You'll pick up some bargains, but I'll give you a run down of my favourite places. The chicken store stocks some great deals including enormous fresh chicken lasagna for around $17 - big enough to feed 4, you can freeze them or pop them in the oven for half an hour and get a delicious and hearty meal. The juice bar is a great place to refresh. The have low-fat creamy yoghurt, fresh juices and really excellent smoothies made with yoghurt and milk, or sorbet. Nick and Sue's gourmet deli is a must if you love dips, bread or any sort of meat. Prosciutto sliced freshly, soft pasta and a wide range of cheeses are also sold here. Nick and Sue's is your one stop shop inside the market. I'm constantly surprised by the quality and price of the ingredients (in a good way), and even though you may have to jostle around a counter to get served, it adds to the rustic atmosphere of the market.

You know any store is worth visiting if you're willing to cross town for it. Double that if you're…read moreinstantly impressed upon entering- visually at first, then with the ability to find both items you want, and need. The supermarket end is always well stocked, the qaulity of produce both fresh and aged impeccable, and you can get just about anything you're after. Which is a relief if you've ever been to a bodgy supermarket that is scant in offerings, and leaves you a slightly depressed. In fact Boccaccio is the complete opposite; a happy place that's always chockers with an incredible range. The Cheese section is enormous for the shop of it's size, the deli is on par, fruits and veggies are all there, and all in great fresh qaulity; the layout of the shop and selection of items are well thought out and chosen well. Boccaccio, both for the cellars and it's supermarket are absolute first rate when it comes to qaulity shopping with extensive and well sought range and breadth of fresh groceries of every kind. The supa Iga has you covered for: produce, green groceries, cheese, meat, and everything else, it's incredible; I don't think I've found another supermarket that can match it. It's worth noting here the most integral decision for choosing to visit- that it's not any of the big two supermarkets. Onto the bottle shop ergo the actual cellars; a brilliant offering of high qaulity wines of all kinds, beers, spirits which are broken down wonderfully into their respective categories, and any other form of bloody decent tipple you may fancy. in short all the alco-wholes, done very well.

However i found it rather odd that the rest of the store was quiet and the staff did not seem to be friends with each other as none of them where talking. Over all, It made my day very enjoyable and i recommend Boccaccio's to everyone.

I understand the bias. How can I not be a fan of a supermarket I live close to?!…read more Well tough titties I'm rating this place 4 stars anyway! TIP: ~ Like most (if not all) Woolworths, a lot of meat would be in the "special" section, of specially marked down for meat that needs to be used soon. You can grab some very good deals here. Just the other day I got 4 huge steaks for 10 dollars total. Somebody pinch me! Ambiance: Despite the busy atmosphere of being a grocery store on Victoria Street, the staff here do a top job of keeping this place clean and being efficient enough on the registers to get rid of large queues. The result? I never feel particularly crowded and hectic at this place, despite the barrage of customers. Contrast to say, a busy Coles, this Woolworths is a winner! Customer Service: So far, all the staff have been really nice and efficient as well. As I mentioned above, they do a great job with the queues. Selection: Overall, this Woolworths is pretty large so they have a great selection of items. Like I said, I do mainly all my shopping here and it's never let me down. --- The only thing I do have to say is that even though Woolworths does have an "Asian" section, I recommend you heading over to Minh Phat next door - for Asian goods, they do a lot better job with the prices.

HOT TIPS: Store…read moreHolder: TIP #1 Best to book within the week *check online the Camberwell Rotary market website & check for cancellations after 10.00pm on Thursday nights. TIP #2 Cancellations range from 1 or to potentially 7-8 each time, gives you a better gauge on how the weather will look on the Sunday morning before booking. TIP #3 Stalls are $50 a pop, you will need to be there by 6.00am to have your car parked and unloaded before 7.00am. TP #4 Bringing your car and parking within tour designated car park is the cheapest option, saves constantly moving your vehicle and paying for parking. TIP #5 There will be 'die hard' market goer's looking for bargain's as early as you arrive, so make sure everything is set out accordingly and also within you reach and sight. There will be thieves in operation! TIP #6 Despite how good the weather forecast appears, it will be freezing at 5.30am! Learnt the hard way the first time and rocked up in my gym gear, caught the flu with a temperature of 40 that lasted a week! Bring warm clothes. Food & Coffee runs are essential. TIP#7 When its time to pack up, make sure you are out of there by the designated time of 1.00pm. If you are seen to be selling after this time you will be banned for holding a store for a certain period of time. Happy Selling!

If you love the eclecticism of flea markets and delight in rummaging through heaps of stuff to find…read morea good bargain, you've got to check out Camberwell market. Established since 1976, the market only opens on Sunday mornings and the trick is to get there early because bargains go quick! The market is conducted by the Rotary Club of Balwyn (RCB) as a means of raising funds for a wide range of charities and has been responsible for raising nearly $9,000,000 for the community since its inception. Among the rows of 370 stalls, you'll find vintage memorabilia, vintage furniture and homeware. You'll get a nice selection of used clothing, records, art, lighting, books, fabrics, comics and even plants. Every Sunday is different with casual stall holders trecking to the venue with carloads or truckloads full of fabulous finds. After all, one man's junk is another man's treasure! My advice is to check the weather before you make a date and be prepared for either icy cold winds or warm, tropical weather. I've been there twice at different seasons and the experience and overall ambience was complete different. My Spring visit was unbelievably cold and I had to buy a scarf to stop from catching a cold. On the other hand, my autumn visit was lovely and warm and made shopping so much fun. Oh and dogs are welcome so bring your furry friend along for the ride. Ample parking available under the Safeway and Target shopping complex and has a two hour parking limit on Sunday mornings.
