Also, as a property owner, Dave helped us save a hive when they tried to take over our roof and his methods were kind and preserving, instead of destructive, and we really valued that! Like most queen breeders worth their salt, I choose queens to breed from based on low mite counts, mite resilience, gentleness, honey production, longevity, etc. Nucs will consist of 5 frames of bees. Frames will be Langstroth Deeps made of wood (Mann Lake) with plastic foundation. All frames will be from wax drawn in 2018. Two to three frames will consist of brood in all stages, a feed frame of honey/pollen, and either a foundation frame or an empty comb frame. If managed correctly, they will give you a honey crop your first year. All queens will be grafted from my best queens of 2018, and are guaranteed to be mated and laying solid patterns. With package prices increasing yearly, a nuc is a better choice than ever. Quicker build up, bees that are guaranteed not to abscond (does happen), and a guaranteed laying queen. Bees will be sold in temporary cardboard nuc boxes. Pickup location is still to be determined. I can possibly deliver for a fee if ordering more than 10 nucs. And the shop smells like the dog. There's dog fur on mostly all around the store and merchandise and corners of the store. I love dogs. I have two dogs myself. Do NOT buy bees from this 'company' Worst treatment of bees…read morethat I've seen in six years. Instead of receiving an established four frame Nuc this is what he sent. Two empty frames and two 3/4 full frames. No established brood, no stores of honey or pollen. Almost half of the bees had died in transit and the smell of decaying bees was overwhelming. Instead of being sent in a sturdy wooden box they were shipped in a single wall plastic box that did nothing to insulate or protect the bees in transit. His shipment was also delayed to five days due to poor packaging. His voice message box is constantly full and he very seldom answers his phone. Emails also goes days without being answered. So overwhelmingly sad for the bees that suffered at the hands of this company.
