If your child doesn't like climbing, this is NOT the place for them. Everywhere you turn there are more spider-web like areas for them to climb on. The Burnside City Council aren't big on drinking fountains but they sure are big on tennis courts! *Dogs allowed but seeing as they aren't allowed near the playground and the tennis courts, there's probably not much use in bringing them on your day out*

The Kensington Marryatville Bowling Club certainly has these attributes and more! Sharing their club rooms with the neighboring Tennis Club, the Bowling Club boasts some pretty decent greens a pool table and ample room for a dance floor should the mood take you. They host Night Owls on thursday evenings, which is the prefect opportunity to have a crack at Lawn Bowls, or is an equally good excuse to get together with a couple of mates and get on the turps. The Bowling Club itslef has seen some success of late, being promoted to the Top division in the state this season and has a couple of members who are either in the state team of pushing for selection. BTW, make sure you put your team in early for night owls as they get pretty packed!

The whole family have played here, from young juniors to the senior competition, and tennis lessons for over 10 years. It's wonderful to have a community club, providing not only tuition, but also a place to have a hit when all the local courts are full.

Well, that is just how extreme guys like me roll! Slowly but surely Synthetic greens have been creeping into the clubs in Adelaide, and one such club that has gone to 'the dark side' is the Tranmere Bowling Club. Although I have been a Tennis Player in the past I have never played on the courts of the partner club, so this review will be on the Bowling Club side of the fence. Situated on Magill Road, the first thing you notice is the bloody big house behind the club (check out the picture). Beauty isn't it? Tranmere is another of the clubs in Adelaide that boasts a member base full of really nice people, which is half the reason that it is always good fun to head to the club. The other is that even for Bowling Club standards their beer is damn cheap! It is a decent sized club house, but a little dated considering some of the 'new fangled' clubs going around today. Still, it has a certain feel about it that puts you at ease, and it is very easy to kick back and relax. the greens themselves are, as stated, synthetic. Not like the old brush tennis courts of the 90's, but they use a something the more resembles a carpet, with very fine fibres. But really who gives a rats ass as long as you can have a roll with your friends and a brew waiting on the bank?! As with all Bowling Clubs, make sure you ring to put your (your teams) name down before going out to Night Owls.

As with many playgrounds, there's a lack of shade and no drinking fountain. *Dogs allowed (not near playground)*

What does this have to do with Kensington Gradens Reserve? Well, The Don lived adjacent the reserve for much of his older life, and you can even check out the Bradman Trail, that tours around the area! The Don aside, Kensington Gardens Reserve is a really 'pretty' place, with numerous sporting ovals, Tennis courts and more trees than you would find lining the amazon! Also within the boundary of the reserve is a Kindergarton, Marching/Scottish Band headquarters and, of course, the Kensington Marryatville Bowling Club. You can really lose yourself for quite some time in the park, and it is well worthwhile doing so! There is also a playground and randomly scattered pockets of play equipment for the little tykes (of the biguns who may have indulged a bit too much at a picnic).

I knew it had won awards and I knew there was a lot of effort put into making the adventure park, but I have to say, I didn't think it was all that spectacular. Perhaps the gazillion playgrounds I've visited since writing for Yelp has blurred my vision a bit. Don't get me wrong, this place is fun but in terms of equipment, there isn't as much here as other places. I do like the set up though. It's pretty. There's a mix of rubber and bark chip flooring and many of the play structures certainly are unlike anything I've seen at any of the other playgrounds I've reviewed for Yelp. There's plenty here to entertain the curious mind of children, but I thought there would be more physical/challenging/engaging equipment. Check it out and see what you think. *Dogs allowed (must be on leash)* *BBQ* *Table/chair areas under shade of trees* *Toilets near by*

There's a really large lawn area within the park, great for frisbee throwing or kicking a ball. The playground does get some shade from the trees around it. There's a bike track that runs behind this pretty little park.
