Today, I made a visit to go to the Southeast Crab festival that they have every year. This is my second year attending. Lake Mayer has a nice pavillon that is very comfortable. They also have some very clean and well stocked and well lit bathrooms which really impressed me the most considering it is. publci space. I was grateful to dind both toilet paper, hand washing soap, and paper towels in this place. There was a park attendent nearby to serve as both the watchful security and the restocker for supplies. I will stop over to take advantage of the 3mile footpath in the future.

It is within a campground. There is a gift shop, a children's playset, and an outdoor workout area. I loved the workout equipment, it was neat. I didn't go too far into the campground but it looked really nice. They have several trails you can explore. I went on the Sandpiper loop. It was about a mile. It was a bit muddy in spots so you may want to take hiking boots. I saw a deer and some mud crabs along the way. They even have a couple of dedicated places to stop and take a photo of the landscape. This provided a nice easy walk and a place for my pup and I to stretch our legs.

Yes, they have a bracket set up to position your phone for the perfect shot. The visitors center is easily accessible and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable park rangers. My only complaint is that the "Avion" trail continues to be closed. Overall, the park is a great way to spend an afternoon commuting with nature.

You'll usually see people fishing and plenty of birds hanging around the water looking for fish. It's just a peaceful, fun park with a little something for everyone.

He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out history and things that we were particularly interested in. We saw tons of dolphins along the way which made my night. The ride was relaxing with stunning views. The staff checking us in and juggling our reservation, Peyton was great. They called and offered to adjust our time to maximize our sunset experience. After our ride, we got to ask questions and learn about the burger boat and how cool that operation is. We look forward to coming back with our kids for the fossil tour.
